@DestinyBell864 thats what yakko said. doesnt even neeed speilberg, he wasnt the only creator he just put a hell of a lot of work into it. could be any of its creators or wb themselves.i hope they come back :) WB is back on the cartoon front with the looney tunes show. and new looney tunes.
This was a great spoof. I wanted to get the whole series, just for stuff like this, only to find the DVD's did not reach this season. It was pulled off TV way too soon; particularly Cartoon Network. It should have been in the regular rotation for years, like the other WB cartoons were, but it was only there very briefly.
@ETBX1 this is due to laws and restrictions and various reasons. (like the mask, the warners are considered too zany for tv and wb still has its rights)
@kawrght From what I understood, it is Spielberg who shares the rights, and he was suppposedly the one who pulled them from Cartoon Network even while they continued to show the rest of the newly acquired WB library.
@ETBX1 yup.hes very pissed off at WB for cheaping the show pinky and the brain down to the max and trying to control what he was directing, and still is pissed off.. so until speilberg ether buys 100% of the rights and finds another publisher or the copyright runs out and it goes into free for all land, we aint seeing animaniacs again. its a shame, speilberg is a cartoon master!!!boy can he hold a grudge though. speilberg created near 90%of WB shows at that point
@kawrght which is why they shut the studio, no point keeping it open for one cartoon(wbs own looney tunes), i think disney now owns the rights to pinky and the brain, (the show that put the nail in the coffin was speilberg presents pinky,elmyra and the brain and its thankfully in the cartoon deletion bin)
@kawrght speilbergs allowed one or two of his shows to be repeated every now and then but the animaniacs that we all know and love cant shift nor does he want to since at its centre its based in the WB studio block. i wish he would write someone else has bought the water tower or somat.
@kawrght Well, that's a bit of info I had never heard before. I wonder what WB did to "cheapen" it. (I'll bet it's adding Elmyra, which it seems a lot of people didn't like). I thought Spielberg had all the creative control. What I wish, is that WB would be the one to buy it 100%, since it is based on their classic Looney Tunes (their completely owned characters appear in it), and thus should be included with the rest of the LT universe.
@ETBX1 a lot, they where booted out the lab, they second most annoying girl every every created(looney tunes show babs takes top spot)cheapended well just try to find it on youtube and find out. WB hasnt even got animaniacs or any of speilbergs cartoons on the website so its possible he wont even admit he ever worked with them, or someone else has the rights. rumours are WB is trying to apologise to him. probably with no luck.theyd have to find a new artist i think though.
@kawrght woops that top line should be they added the second most annoying girl ever created.it basically turned into one girl and her 2 pets, and no taking over the world stuff that could be a no no, speilberg and the writer took their frustration and anger out as expressed by pinky and the brain as basically they have killed them.they where spotted in a videogame though and across various media since then though.
How did Plotz instantly know that the Warners wanted his money when they crashed through his ceiling? Oh.. And did anyone else notice Wakko eating the cards they were playing with???
I feel like Animaniacs came at exactly the right time, a time when there was no huge gap between "adult" cartoons and "kids" cartoons like there is now. Animaniacs was both, or neither, or something entirely different (but kind of similar to earlier WB toons in a way).
lmao, the nose sucking guy bagged me up, people say shows like spongebob nowadays are just as good as older shows like A! but it isnt true. this show is theee boomb :D
I'd say the only current cartoons that are even any good are the action ones, young justice is a good example, superior detail and artistry and a well thought out plot.
Adventure time and Regular Show and Robotomy are the top of the crap list in my book. I guarentee you if they ressurected animaniacs it would crush all 3 of them in the ratings with a 16 ton safe!
Not all NEW cartoons are bad. That's something I've learned. True, some are crap. But I get upset with people who are so stuck in the past, they have "Nixon and Sundance Kids leaking out of their ears and private areas.
I haven't laughed so hard in months! Thank you for uploading this. Seems like ages since I'd seen this episode. I've been waiting and hoping WB would release the fourth volume on DVD.
Any time I'm sad, I shall think of Wakko pretending to be a jet and bouncing off of "Fat Orson's" back fat. A guarenteed cure for the blues.
It was the whole move towards education and prosocial values that killed the cartoon industry, beginning about the mid- to late seventies. FAT ALBERT AND THE COSBY KIDS was actually one of the better efforts out of Filmation, who continued the trend with HE-MAN, SHE-RA, and BRAVESTARR. Ironically those very shows came under fire from parents' groups for being 22-min toy comercials, which is how we got the Children's Televison Act (CTA). Thus began a 20-year campaign to kill Saturday morning.
@HaggisMcCrablice You know I wonder... Wouldn't all of this been avoided had these major film and television studios stopped listening to those types of overreactive groups and taken more intiative to produce better cartoons?
@wileyk209zback: They WERE. The shows were meant for kids and their parents, but they also became popular among adults in general. The thing is...the man responsible for KILLING the Silver Age WB cartoons--and later, Kid's WB in general--was Jamie K. & he did it because of the new standards & practices that preached education & socially-redeeming values, never mind because overseas anime being imported to the US was becoming a boon (ex: Pokemon).
It would be great to see them parody today's movies and TV shows, like Harry Potter, Twilight, Hannah Montana, and High School Musical. Then maybe they could sing a song or two about how messed up today's cartoons are. :)
Was that fat guy after the Underdog parody supposed to be a parody of Fat Albert? That was just so funny seeing the parody, even without the Warners intervening!
@Kauaimon: Think of Underdog as a rhyming canine Superman, with Shoeshine Boy as his Clark Kent disguise, Sweet Polly as his Lois Lane, Simon Bar Sinister as his Lex Luthor, and losing his vitamin super-energy pill as the equivalent to Kryptonite or a Black Sun.
Here's an epilogue for the episode: After the Warners kicked Tab Boo out of the Water Tower, Thaddeus Plotz realized that even HE was wrong to kick out the original beloved stars, and summoned them back, so that Warner Bros. themselves would go into the TV Animation business. They were surprisingly successful for years to come. So successful that in 20 years, the Warners Escape!
@AnimaniacsVol4Vids You didn't NEED the Warners to make crappy cartoons from Canada look bad! They already are! Now, Total Drama, THERE'S a great cartoon series from Canada. The older demographic eats that crap up, and pukes it out onscreen (they do that, now).
@markdpane If they ripped on that, it wouldn't even help, for they'd hate Chef's cooking (like most everyone else), they'd get scared of the praise they'd get for hurting Heather (physically), and Izzy would be TOO curious about the three, like does ink run through their veins, instead of blood? And it would cause the Warners to RUN AWAY, defying laws of physics, as they run on top of the water, and never looking back at Total Drama Island!
Well, at least it might get Total Drama Island canceled. I hope so I hate that show, it's just a cheesy parody of those old live action reality survivor shows. News flash cartoon syndicates: reality and cartoons do NOT mix!
Yeah, maybe they'd put those dribble characters into therapy, causing the new cartoons to be put on hiatus or even canceled. What angers me more than the awful new cartoons though is the live action shows on CARTOON Network. That sort of thing just ticks me off. DX
@AnimaniacsVol4Vids Yeah... all one of them. We don't even GET cartoons anymore. The REAL villains are the idiot execs that keep trying to make the next Hanna Montana. Give me a cartoon anyday, even a bad one over this dadblasted terrible live action drivel kids are forced to grow up with now. I can't even think of a cartoon other than Spongebob that's even still on the air.
Plus, cartoons from the 70's? The worst stuff we've ever got EVER.
@mardeninthegarden Yeah, but then they cancel them due to production caps... it's frustrating. But basically saying "Every cartoon nowadays sucks" is an INSULT to real cartoon fans. Sure, the preschool stuff does, for the most part... but there's barely anything out there, and I think that tiny portion of kids cartoons they make now is indeed pretty good. Just... we need a lot more of them.
Oh, and Street Sharks sucked worse than anything I've ever seen. So it wasn't all great in the 90's.
@mightyfilm: Street Sharks was a poor-man's Ninja Turtles. But really, most cartoons now DO suck. Chowder, Flapjack, Regular Show, Adventure Time, et al. they ALL lack true timeless humor and rely on cheap jokes that are bland, flat, and UN-funny.
@TherealRNO I'm sorry... Chowder is a show genius in it's no-sequitor and weirdness, and it was canned by CN for not being another tedious reality series. But really, how can we forget the terrible cartoons of the past? There were ALWAYS garbage shows. Now the 1970's... THERE was a complete wasteland. Fat Albert and Hong Kong Phooey were good, but everything else was just an Archie knockoff.
@mightyfilm Personally, every generation of cartoons has its goods and bads, just in different amounts. But, as a Hong Kong Phooey fanatic, I must commend you for saying that. XD
I also hate to admit it, but I also loved Jabberjaw way more then Scooby Doo.
@battybuddy I think often people don't want to give chances to new cartoons, no matter how good, because they are simply not what they grew up with. I'm sure the kids of today will be on Youtube in 15 years and go around saying "Man, in my times we had good cartoons like Spongebob, Chowder and Ben 10. Why are today's cartoons all crap?"
@Shadoboy Lol. Thats true. Honestly, I look forward to laughing at the people saying "In my time we had good cartoons like Out Of Jimmy's Head. Why are all todays cartoons crap."... YOU KNOW SOMEONE WILL SAY IT!!!
@battybuddy its funny, I used to be just such a person, always going on about classic cartoons, usually ranging from WB shows to old CN shows. But I personally got sick of all the ppl whining about new cartoons, and gave several new ones a shot. turns out, among al the crap being churned out nowadays, there are some real gems (message me if u want a list). even if they are animated on computers, who cares?! as long as its well done and funny, im happy.
@femoman Computers dont matter to me- I mean, actual physical multiplane cameras aren't really in common use anymore, but we don't complain about THAT.
True, Flash can't do everything as smoothly and natural-looking as hand drawn animation, and 3D images look REAL FAKE when its done cheaply, but those who try to work with them to produce something GOOD need recognition.
Agreed. One example of good Flash animation was Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. I've never seen anyone else try that hard.
Plus, I've been making animations for a few years now and I make them all frame-by-frame. It wasn't until recently that they looked decent though. It takes a lot of practice!
@lotusbandicoot FOSTERS WAS AWESOME. The animation WAS good, but it also had good writing- and the two are what results in the shows that are really the best. Also, glad to hear your a fellow animator.
@AnimaniacsVol4Vids lol they'll rip on the horrible animation style of johnny test. the way total drama(take your pick) tries soooooo hard to relate to teens by inserting really forced make out scenes and corny "adult" humor that sounds like a first grader wrote it. and the bullshitty-ness of everything in chowder.
@AnimaniacsVol4Vids Not to mention that they need to rip on all of the terrible reality shows on MTV! In fact they should include a line with Yakko going to what he thinks is TRL, only to ask "If this is Music Television, where's the music?"
Toons on a live action show, interesting. I've seen it done in movies but it's rarely done in TV series (the only one that comes to my mind is "Out of Jimmy's Head"). Hannah Montana would probably say things like "Weird puppy children say what?" constantly. XD
@MWolfL: Or they COULD do what they did with "Friends" and have Miley, Lily, Oliver, Billy Ray, and Jackson voice animated charicatures of themselves.
@historywiz1 Why stop at the suckass cartoons? I say they should get to be on the crappy Disney sitcoms, too! These guys would FINALLY make them funny!
@boru25 Personally I haven't seen it that much, so I don't know about that one. But what I did see beyond bugs and daffy being roomies was good(I don't really like the roomies thing but everybody else if good). Besides LT purist fans were doing that enough to turn me off on hating the show long before it even aired. Let's just say it got violent, hypocritical, stupid, and annoying. If the warners made it funny, it'd be alright, though.
@boru25 In a in cartoon sence. Bugs got kick from warner brothers and invented the carot pealer. But since daffy went out of the jog he mooches off of bugs and i (you do know this is just a theory) think is what happend.
can anyone tell me what these shows in this episode are parodying?

MWolfL 1 year ago
@AnimaniacsVol4Vids Yeah... all one of them. We don't even GET cartoons anymore. The REAL villains are the idiot execs that keep trying to make the next Hanna Montana. Give me a cartoon anyday, even a bad one over this dadblasted terrible live action drivel kids are forced to grow up with now. I can't even think of a cartoon other than Spongebob that's even still on the air.
Plus, cartoons from the 70's? The worst stuff we've ever got EVER.
mightyfilm 1 year ago
@mightyfilm Cartoon Network has some good stuff. Chowder, Flapjack, Adventure Time...I think it's just what you choose to focus on.
mardeninthegarden 1 year ago
@mardeninthegarden Yeah, but then they cancel them due to production caps... it's frustrating. But basically saying "Every cartoon nowadays sucks" is an INSULT to real cartoon fans. Sure, the preschool stuff does, for the most part... but there's barely anything out there, and I think that tiny portion of kids cartoons they make now is indeed pretty good. Just... we need a lot more of them.
Oh, and Street Sharks sucked worse than anything I've ever seen. So it wasn't all great in the 90's.
mightyfilm 1 year ago 3
@mightyfilm: Street Sharks was a poor-man's Ninja Turtles. But really, most cartoons now DO suck. Chowder, Flapjack, Regular Show, Adventure Time, et al. they ALL lack true timeless humor and rely on cheap jokes that are bland, flat, and UN-funny.
TherealRNO 9 months ago
@TherealRNO I'm sorry... Chowder is a show genius in it's no-sequitor and weirdness, and it was canned by CN for not being another tedious reality series. But really, how can we forget the terrible cartoons of the past? There were ALWAYS garbage shows. Now the 1970's... THERE was a complete wasteland. Fat Albert and Hong Kong Phooey were good, but everything else was just an Archie knockoff.
mightyfilm 9 months ago 2
@mightyfilm Personally, every generation of cartoons has its goods and bads, just in different amounts. But, as a Hong Kong Phooey fanatic, I must commend you for saying that. XD
I also hate to admit it, but I also loved Jabberjaw way more then Scooby Doo.
battybuddy 9 months ago
@battybuddy I think often people don't want to give chances to new cartoons, no matter how good, because they are simply not what they grew up with. I'm sure the kids of today will be on Youtube in 15 years and go around saying "Man, in my times we had good cartoons like Spongebob, Chowder and Ben 10. Why are today's cartoons all crap?"
Shadoboy 6 months ago
@Shadoboy Lol. Thats true. Honestly, I look forward to laughing at the people saying "In my time we had good cartoons like Out Of Jimmy's Head. Why are all todays cartoons crap."... YOU KNOW SOMEONE WILL SAY IT!!!
battybuddy 6 months ago
@battybuddy its funny, I used to be just such a person, always going on about classic cartoons, usually ranging from WB shows to old CN shows. But I personally got sick of all the ppl whining about new cartoons, and gave several new ones a shot. turns out, among al the crap being churned out nowadays, there are some real gems (message me if u want a list). even if they are animated on computers, who cares?! as long as its well done and funny, im happy.
femoman 3 months ago
@femoman Computers dont matter to me- I mean, actual physical multiplane cameras aren't really in common use anymore, but we don't complain about THAT.
True, Flash can't do everything as smoothly and natural-looking as hand drawn animation, and 3D images look REAL FAKE when its done cheaply, but those who try to work with them to produce something GOOD need recognition.
battybuddy 3 months ago 2
@battybuddy
Agreed. One example of good Flash animation was Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. I've never seen anyone else try that hard.
Plus, I've been making animations for a few years now and I make them all frame-by-frame. It wasn't until recently that they looked decent though. It takes a lot of practice!
Oh, and by the way, you're a smart person. :)
lotusbandicoot 2 months ago
@lotusbandicoot FOSTERS WAS AWESOME. The animation WAS good, but it also had good writing- and the two are what results in the shows that are really the best. Also, glad to hear your a fellow animator.
battybuddy 2 months ago
@mightyfilm And yes, Chowder rocked.
battybuddy 9 months ago
@AnimaniacsVol4Vids Who wouldn't?
Haseotoramaki99 1 year ago
@AnimaniacsVol4Vids lol they'll rip on the horrible animation style of johnny test. the way total drama(take your pick) tries soooooo hard to relate to teens by inserting really forced make out scenes and corny "adult" humor that sounds like a first grader wrote it. and the bullshitty-ness of everything in chowder.
PrisonerofReality 10 months ago
@AnimaniacsVol4Vids I agree. Not all cartoons nowadays aren't complete wastes of time:
Example:
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Transformers Animated
The Avengers
Etc.
But I agree, The Warners should assault the new cartoons that I am surprised pass as kids entertainment.
TF2Fan101 10 months ago
@AnimaniacsVol4Vids Not to mention that they need to rip on all of the terrible reality shows on MTV! In fact they should include a line with Yakko going to what he thinks is TRL, only to ask "If this is Music Television, where's the music?"

@historywiz1 You and me both! :)

@historywiz1 I would also like to see them spoof Hannah Montana and all that crud lol
TwistedVampireRobot 1 year ago
@TwistedVampireRobot
Toons on a live action show, interesting. I've seen it done in movies but it's rarely done in TV series (the only one that comes to my mind is "Out of Jimmy's Head"). Hannah Montana would probably say things like "Weird puppy children say what?" constantly. XD
MWolfL 1 year ago
@MWolfL Haha that would be insane!
TwistedVampireRobot 1 year ago
@MWolfL: Or they COULD do what they did with "Friends" and have Miley, Lily, Oliver, Billy Ray, and Jackson voice animated charicatures of themselves.
TherealRNO 9 months ago
@TherealRNO
Yeah, that probably would be easier (not to mention cheaper).
MWolfL 9 months ago
@MWolfL: Exactly.
TherealRNO 9 months ago
@historywiz1 Why stop at the suckass cartoons? I say they should get to be on the crappy Disney sitcoms, too! These guys would FINALLY make them funny!
ztslovebird 1 year ago
@ztslovebird Totally, would love to see the Warners rip into all of today's pop culture.
historywiz1 1 year ago
@historywiz1 now your talking! ^^
PikachuBen 1 year ago
@historywiz1 Personally I'd REALLY like to see them spoof Warner Bro's stuff from the past couple of decades. XD
Especially Baby Looney Tunes, Loonatics Unleashed and Back In Action.
battybuddy 9 months ago
How about the New Looney Tunes show?
boru25 8 months ago
@boru25 Personally I haven't seen it that much, so I don't know about that one. But what I did see beyond bugs and daffy being roomies was good(I don't really like the roomies thing but everybody else if good). Besides LT purist fans were doing that enough to turn me off on hating the show long before it even aired. Let's just say it got violent, hypocritical, stupid, and annoying. If the warners made it funny, it'd be alright, though.
battybuddy 8 months ago
@boru25 In a in cartoon sence. Bugs got kick from warner brothers and invented the carot pealer. But since daffy went out of the jog he mooches off of bugs and i (you do know this is just a theory) think is what happend.
(Also porky lives in a mansion for some reson)
keggie09 6 months ago
Spoofs of Yogi Bear, Scooby-Doo, Underdog, Fat Albert and the Beatles!! The Warners must be tired.
