Its always a brave attempt to pull off Malkauns. But IMHO, I think this rendition is more of an imitation of Kishoritai Amonkar's unpublished Malkauns. The vilambit cheez is the same. The overall handling and even many phrases are the same. I wished Saniya could come up with something a little original. Also, whenever she finishes the avartan and catches the mukhda, it goes a little off key....kinda spoils the mood that was so nicely set during the vistaar.
The raga is also in a slow movement. The lower notes are usually sung in the beginning while one starts including all the notes as the song progresses.

i like malkauns very much.she is singing very good actually.
i like ustad salamat ali khan shafqat and sharafat sons of legend ustad salamat ali khan.
he is master in kaffi but she is also singing malkauns well. thats great really like that
