  • Jiwetube, can you tell me where you got your pads? they are sick. I have the new Bauer Reflex RX6 LE pads but yours in this video are nasty

  • @leftfield4 think they are called "Flatpad"

  • 15 ppl took pucks to the throat

  • Jersey is awesome. No fear.

  • nice gear

  • cool stick

  • Very nice drill, i'm gonna try that :))

  • You know they say it takes 120 hours of practice to break a bad habit.. This is a good way to get in one. Unless you're just messing around.

  • @ExternalGod yeah. hes not getting square to any of the shots, just sliding across

  • thats only one move

  • i love this drill but i also hate it, its good for positioning while moving across the net but moving directly away from the puck after the shot can be a problem (aka a fake shot and then ur already practicing to move to the other side) as long as u learn not to get into the habit of moving right away this drill is great

  • what stick

  • its kinda funny that this kids parents are paying for his kid to learn to wrong moves.

  • soft

  • I've never seen a goalie doing that in a game

  • @eishockeyjunkee ha i have if goalies go to schools the learn more advanced things this is harder than it looks

  • @eishockeyjunkee you're dumb, i'ts a basic move fore a goalie!

  • @Padder33 don't call me dumb, you've never seen me, probably I've got about double the IQ of you

  • goloves in the wrong position, other than that good job

  • @LimiTless43 his not wearing it in the wrong position his just more comfortable on that position every goalie has their own comfort zone .

  • @t0bit0by39 its not like i dont that, im just saying if it was up he could make easier glove movements.

  • god damn... i wish i could do that sick as fuck

  • holy....

  • That's a great way to develop bad habits. You should slow down the drill and be on your feet, challenging the shooter and the puck.

  • @802wolves if he takes breaks every once and a while he should go quickly like this so in a game situation he will be faster

  • that jersey looks sick

  • @toolbagcentral i must say, gay reply

  • fantastic goalie

  • Carey Price style 8)

  • good moves

  • ahhh the burn in the legs

  • i must say, gay jersey

  • @KMichalovsky ugly stick too!

  • ok guys i just started playing hockey goalie i love it, but its alot harder then i thought, so i need some advise or tips, Im 5' 10'' and 225 pounds so im a shorter wider guy, everyone tells me to play a stand up goalie but it seems out dated and feels a little weird trying to make saves so any advise or tips would be great, email me at lacrossekeeper18@yahoo.com thx so much

  • @laxkeeper1018 lose weight...but I dont mean it in a bad way. You might be 225 of solid muscle for all i know. if you wanna play for a while lose a few. youll play better and longer

  • flatpad is sooo ugly

  • thats gatta kill your knees when your older.... sux if he does that all for nothing

  • man thats a horrible drill.

  • god that looks tiring

  • amazing

  • amazing

  • Biberhofer,

Study his body , leg & skate position as he arrives to his destination and prepares to exit to his reverse destination, how does he push off ? How do you normally push off during open sessions? bend knees from your feet where they connect to your legs, knees out over toes, applying centered blade edge pressure down into ice, notice slant of his legs & skates during pushing he uses all of his blade edge that touches ice, no individual toe or heel pressure.

    kom_ervin@yahoo.com

  • is this alex by any chance?

  • "Goalie move"

  • Is this really that impressive? He's probably a good goalie but this drill just proves he can do a basic slide. I do this in warm ups before every game.... in beer league.

  • this goalie needs to work on his glove it needs to be out in front of his body

  • 11 people obviously don't know how to stop pucks :)

  • @abisocerQt or 11 people arnt impressed by basic goal tending

  • That is SOOOO tiring lol Good job!!

  • question, how do u push off??? ive seen some people use thier toes to push & others with thier hand skate. tryina learn how to push off maybe you can help me

    thanks

much harder than it looks :(

  • I find the most important thing with this move, is the angle of your skate. You need to angle your foot, and you angle so that the edge of you skate blade bites into the ice, which gives you the footing to push off. Secondly, getting used to getting out of your butterfly with the right leg for the right side. That's how I do it.

  • wow, good job.

  • You missed a couple.

  • this is why i do this every time before a game. this kid is beastt

  • listen dumbies...i think theres a misunderstanding here with ur argument...u should be discussing where ur focusing the power from ur push into....u can either focus it into the heel of ur foot and push that way...or the toe of ur foot and push that way...with both of these u want to keep as much of ur skate flush with the ice as possible, ideally ur whole skate blade...but most of ur power comes from the third of the blade closest to where ur focusing ur power

  • Well, here we are 2 years later. Flat Pad failed.

  • wat a beast

  • looked pretty cool but wouldn't speed crawling be easier (if you can do it) :)

  • @GoCanucksssssssGoooo sharpen ur skates :P

  • nice v

  • Just put those gloves out infront more, moving around lots.

  • 0:29 FAILLL !!!

  • THATS A SICK JERSEY

  • @GoCanucksssssssGoooo try putting your leg at a 90 degre to start with.. that would make it easier

  • im betta

  • he moves very well

  • should i use cat eyes(goalie) im joining a youth hockey team

  • @d4rkhe no, most leagues dont allow it anyway.

  • this fuckin guy is amazing!

  • i see micheal neuvirth do this before the capitals games when he's in between the pipes....it looks so flipping fun

  • what are those pads called???!!there SICK

  • I just started playing goal, and whenever I try to push off and slide like that I always end up like turning around or doing a 180! ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE!?

  • @LethalStick97 haha i know the feeling i had that at the start but i have been a goalie for long time but when u push use the whole blade on your skate the reason its doing this is because your pushing with your toe and not your hole blade

  • @cam123mitsu oh that makes sense! thanks a lot man

  • @LethalStick97 no prob good luck

  • @LethalStick97 I had the same problem too. Make sure to push with the WHOLE blade and not only the toes or the heels.

  • @4llvar ughhh...that is not true at all

  • @Maclay93 If you say that you clearly are doing it wrong. You gain much more power if you use the whole blade. BUT, you should also use your toes to get that little extra ammount of speed. Oh and NEVER use heels, that's the dumbest thing ever.

  • @4llvar @4llvar Err no...You push with either your toe or heel, not your whole foot. It's a preference thing, both are OK, but it doesn't matter. I push with my heel. Next house league practice try pushing with your whole foot and see where you go. Please just take the advice and accept you are wrong, I have goalie coaches and youre just another youtube amateur.

  • @Maclay93 I'm done with this, youtube fights are useless.

  • @4llvar typical youtube goalie, often wrong, never in doubt

  • @Maclay93 It is kinda funny how wrong you are. I dont play goalie, but I play u18 AAA, and I have always liked goaltending (though I suck at it), but our team's goalie taught me the usual way goalies slide (with toe or heel push), and then taught me how to properly push with the whole foot, and you get so much more power and stability when sliding using a whole foot push

  • @hockeymatt1994

I agree I play goalie at the U-16 level and using the whole foot to push gives you much more power than just using heel or toe. I just used a toe push when i was young because it was easier to dig in. Now that I'm older using the whole foot to push is more powerful.

  • @hawkfrost43 Yeah, I think that's pretty common. When you're little, the muscles just aren't there to whole foot push.

It would be like a skater only pushing off on their toe. You just don't get the full power

  • @hockeymatt1994 i agree completely

  • Comment removed

  • @LethalStick97 youll need to develop a bit of strength in your core muscles otherwise you wont be able to keep straight at all ..... try to keep ur stick straight in front and concentrate on its motion ..... it helped me when i was first doing this ... also try to leave straight marks on the ice from your skates and use the whole blade rather than just the toe or heel which will send you turning round at times :)

  • wanna see something funny go to sandtape45

  • NICE

  • is his pads on backwards

  • hes got overdrive blades on

  • @Hextall2946 what are those?

  • first of all that was sick. i wish i could slide like that. however i know its just a drill, but ur not actually doing anything to make the save. but in the games you would probably use ur arms more. But goooood job that was awesome!

  • All you Canadians and Americans are fucking lucky, i've been wanting to play hockey for fucking years but it's hard to get equipment or even find a team where i live because over here the main sport is football (soccer). Glasgow needs more hockey

  • @franticdisembowlment we have to deal with american football and lacrosse though...

  • Perfect.

  • nice

  • schmuzfuzzy obviously he knows where the puck is going to be placed, this vid shows a goalie with unbelievable control of his rebounds i'd like to see you move that fluidly and consistently having that kind of rebound control

  • yea, should be pretty easy to make saves when you know where the shots are going already. they're all shot to the same spot everytime. and he still lets 2 in. this guy is 100% bender.

  • lol sharp skates

  • @climberguys skilll...

  • i hate that drill

  • Possibly.

  • Really i can even do that and im a bantam

  • good for you

  • W-O-W :P

  • mhm okay...lol XD

  • this does nothing for your game except create bad habits

  • what part of your foot do you push off on? i usually push off on the ball of my foot or near the heel because those are the only places i hav an edge

  • this drill kills mee :D

  • ahh goalie spammm!

  • Wow....How does he do that so easily...What muscles does he use there? Nice

  • to answer seoulmanaja's question :::: Obvoisly he uses calf muscles for a goalie you better have a shitload of strong calf lol i am a goalie but here he uses

    Calf

    Core

    Bicep

    Maybe forearm idk

    Stomach/kinda goes with core

    Alot... lol

  • @Seoulmanaja hips and calves and quads and yeah. gotta workout son.

  • @Seoulmanaja he is using his legs when i comes to the post he put his skates to the ground and pushes away

  • @Seoulmanaja he uses his legs....trust me at the end of ur practice just do this like 30 times back and forth, you will get it easy in like 3 practices, it took me 1 hour in total to be able to do it like this but i have a private goalie coach so....

  • @Seoulmanaja he just uses his legs, I am a goalie in hockey too, its actually harder then it looks! and he is using the motion and the guiode of his head to move.

  • @DBKingify the trick is sharp skates.. reeeeealy sharp. when i played i had an angle on the... whatever its called.. the runner?. try that and its easier than it looks ;)

  • @Seoulmanaja

I'm a goalie and I can do that very easily ( its called a power push) and you use almost all your leg muscles!

  • @Seoulmanaja having atleast a full 3/4 cut on your skates will help you bite like he is

  • @yearofshorty

I have a 1/2 cut, is that more than the 3/4 or less?

  • @Seoulmanaja the 3/4 or 3/8 cut will bite harder, you're getting a standard goalie cut.

  • @yearofshorty a 3/4 cut and a 3/8 cut would be totally different. They aren't just numbers, they actually mean something. Simple math would tell you that a 3/8s cut would be way sharper than a 3/4s. A 3/4s cut would be only a little sharper than a 7/8s.

  • @iTrollhard31 yea i know a 3/8 bites a lot more , just letting him know some actual cuts that goalies are using that i know personally.

  • @yearofshorty Yeah, but a 3/4 cut wouldnt bit harder than a 1/2, it would be much duller.

  • @iTrollhard31

check you the blade-tek website for the radius and it'll show you why and how 3/8 has much more bite than 1/2

  • @yearofshorty Okay....retard...that isn't what I'm disputing....

A 3/8 would be more than a 1/2...a 3/4s would not be. Those two cuts are not the same. Do...You....Under....Stand?

  • Comment removed

  • @iTrollhard31 yea you are right, with the 1/2 biting harder blade-tek site had 3/4 in the wrong side of a diagram i think.

  • damn ur amazing

  • he might be using overdrive blades

  • @MrPillowpants92 theres almost no boot channel on the flatpad so there is free movement of the ankle ... extremely easy to get the full blade of the skate on the ice also the large calf piece gives very good stability on the ice aiding a faster slide and easier recovery :P

  • @fernandes13 thats really cool im looking to upgrade to different pads, idk if ill stick to RBK or move to Vaughn pads still debating i have enough money now to afford it too

  • honestly, i dont see how flatpads change your movement compared to very curved pads like rbk's

  • i guess they are more stable in the butterfly position. they also get rid of the odd rebounds that usually come from the foot area. thats just what i have heard though i havent actually used them.

  • that goalies good

  • My stick!!!!!!

  • did you let him borrow it or did he just take it?

  • Nice cool jersey :)

  • @zizispoonie876 you can buy it at their website

  • what song is used on the promask videos?

  • looks good but a lot of 5 hole as hes coming across!

  • Yes danger, because thats the point of the drill, right?

  • flatpads are god pads, he uses them when he has hockey after church on sundays

  • stop sharpening them period slows you down on soft ice. havent sharpened mine in almost a year and that was only to get the rust off hah

  • this is a very good vid!!!

  • I use 5/8 cut on my skates, and I have to admit, it has a lot more bite than 3/8. With 3/8, I found I was slipping a lot more than I am now.

  • i get my skates cut 3/8ths

  • pretty nice

  • good goaltending

  • goalieakaboo everyone likes there skates sharpend differenlty but i think you should try 5/8 its pretty sharp so it might feel wierd moving aorund in your net at first but once u get use to it, it may helo alot

  • Nice Moves !!!!

  • does anyone know the best inch to get your skates sharpened? for good push offs? i feel like my skates are not grabbing the ice well enough

  • It ain't about the gear, boys. Clean, tight and square technique is the point. That and repetition, repetition, repetition....

  • Are Those The Vaughn Pads Or What???

  • like someother guy sayed, its a video for the Pads, so i dont think they will get new pads... still ugly ass hell

  • very good shuffles

  • overdrive blades?

  • do you like that pad or is it bad

  • this is fundmental goaltending,,,vaughn is the best pads,,RBK...poop

  • brians are pretty good 2

  • im getting new pads what do you recommend i had nike bauer 195s

  • get vaughn velocity 3 7500

Sure, they are expensive. Saved up for a while and got them and I have never been more satisfied . They are beyond amazing

  • nice moves but GET NEW PADS

  • Why he gona get New Pads ?? -.- Its a company that have done the video and its there Pads and all

  • If he think the pads are good he didn't need new pads...

  • hey I need some tips on my goal-tending watch some of my videos and leave a comment or something.

  • what is song?

  • Thats makes a big difference doing that

  • whats up with the gay pride stick? just wondering

  • Damn!

    That was NICE!

  • use your stick to close 5 hole
