This totally happened to us to. And around the time you posted this. My mom has a bush in the front yard and one night someone came with clippers and cut the sides. My mom thought they were trying to be obscene. She was really upset by it.

Oh it's okay, I've had something similar happen, someone threw a dead chicken on our porch, and while we figured it was just a prank, it was kind of disturbing, we've now gotten to the bottom of it, though it didn't get any less disturbing at that. I'm sure it's just some weird prank, I doubt it's related to anything specific, don't you worry about it.

We had something happen like this once my mom is the german teacher at my highschool and four boys tped our house and drew swasticas(is that how you spell that?) every where so we got the dean involved and the police officer who is at our school involved and we found out who it was they could have been charged with a hate crime but we didn't press charges and the dean made them do hard work at our house for two hours
problem might have been resolved by now. Whether is was a "prank" or worse its terrible either way and I will be praying God will move in their hearts to show them actions like that are not acceptable and that they need to be more loveing even of complete strangers.

What (whoever it was) did is not okay, that's trespassing and vandalism, but if you don't know who it was there's nothing that really can be done. Hey Buck, I'm really sorry to hear about your tree!! I hope you were able to fix the situation. I would feel VERY violated too. I was heart-sick when neighbor kids killed my star lilly plant a few years back. It was the 1st year to bloom really big. The little sh*ts were coming into the yard and messing w/ my plants. The next year, I got a fence put up around the front yard, and replaced the plants. And that seemed to help. :)

There are a couple things you can actively do: 1) call the police, 2) place a camera to feel more safe and to catch the person who did it - although i do think it is too late for that, 3) let is rest and just think it is a stupid prank. In February, my car got egged every night for like a week. My dad thought it was my neighbors across the street, so he went over to their house and asked if they had gotten egged and they said they had once or twice. After that, my car stopped getting egged. Haha
Did you report it to the police? Just a thought do set up that camera; do it at night and do it in the morning too like until noon; just to see if anyone is acting weird. Good luck!

He then installed a wildlife camera to catch the person after the second time, he then put rocks in the way to total the car...it worked but the car drove away. Last year our neighbor accidentally crashed into our tree in the front yard (It was below 0). Then years ago someone broke our mailbox. My point being, you should check if anyone else had anything cut down. Sometimes it's great to just vent. And that sucks about the tree, man. I'd be upset, too! What (whoever it was) did is not okay, that's trespassing and vandalism, but if you don't know who it was there's nothing that really can be done. One time when I was in fifth grade a few guys broke into my moms car and my little shih tzu started barking and then my brothers Rottweiler and we were unaware of the hooligans and when we realized what happened, we also discovered dog treats all around the house and it just creeped me out. Hey Buck, I'm really sorry to hear about your tree!! I hope you were able to fix the situation. I would feel VERY violated too. I was heart-sick when neighbor kids killed my star lilly plant a few years back. It was the 1st year to bloom really big. The little sh*ts were coming into the yard and messing w/ my plants. The next year, I got a fence put up around the front yard, and replaced the plants. And that seemed to help. :)

Hey Buck, you are not the type of person who thinks negative so don't let it get to you! There are a couple things you can actively do: 1) call the police, 2) place a camera to feel more safe and to catch the person who did it - although i do think it is too late for that, 3) let is rest and just think it is a stupid prank. There have been no threats so far, you like your neighbourhood...so i don't think there is anything to worry about. Take care!

Bucky that is so mean I am sorry they did that! I was growing a catalpa tree and it got weed-wacked by the lawn crew at my apt (I think they just thought it was a weed ha) but I was still sad. In February, my car got egged every night for like a week. My dad thought it was my neighbors across the street, so he went over to their house and asked if they had gotten egged and they said they had once or twice. After that, my car stopped getting egged. Haha

Aww poor Buck!! *hugs* The same thing happened to my yard. In winter someone drove over my front yard. My father was MAD! He then installed a wildlife camera to catch the person after the second time, he then put rocks in the way to total the car...it worked but the car drove away. Last year our neighbor accidentally crashed into our tree in the front yard (It was below 0). Then years ago someone broke our mailbox. I see how you feel violated, I feel violated too when people destroy my yard. :(

Believe it or not when you and your husband planned on planting that tree--it represented growth and life in a new neighborhood and it takes years for it to grow tall and strong. Well, buck, when i was like 12, i was going around the block chopping down small trees with a sword (and then got stopped by the police). My point being, you should check if anyone else had anything cut down. But since it happened twice, whoever it is may be doing that to you on purpose, and that's just lame if the highlight of their day was cutting down your shrub.
