O Rio é tb é tropical como Petrópolis, Porém Petrópolis é Tropical de Altitude. Quando isso ocorre os verões são até mais amenos!!! Já peguei 40ºC no Rio e 29ºC em Petrópolis num mesmo dia que sai de uma cidade e fui para a mais alta!!!

Campos do Jordão fica mais ao norte que o Rio de Janeiro. O verão no Rio é assim: noites de 30ºC e dias de 40ºC, enquanto CJ têm noites de 11ºC e dias de 27ºC(no máximo) na mesma estação do ano!!

Porque em cidades como Campos do Jordão, Poços de Caldas, Belo Horizonte, Vitória da Conquista, São mais frias que as demais cidades de seus respectivos estados?! Simples: A altitude delas é o diferencial. Lembrando que quanto mais alto mais frio e isso se intensifica se vc se afasta do equador(zona onde se recebe mais raios solares no mundo). O rio de janeiro fica a nível do mar (0 m), Petrópolis(810m), percebeu que Petrópolis é mais fria por causa da altitude, mas fica na zona tropical? Rio tb

Mesclem a perda de 10ºC de temperatura em relação ao nível do mar. São Joaquim está a 1400m do nível do mar, com a latitude 28ºS abaixo do trópico de capricórnio com as correntes frias das Falklands(Malvinas) e a massa polar antártica(o continente mais frio do mundo) que vem tanto pelo mar, quanto pelo continente!! O que verás é isso: Muita neve!! e frio!!

Of course it can be in Brazil, look the video "Neve em Santa Catarina - Urubici - Snow in Brazil" you can even see the typical license plates of the cars, also the sign in Portuguese... But it's comprehensible Brazilians don't believing, because most Brazilians live in places that are hot the whole year... But THERE ARE much colder cities in the highlands of Santa Catarina for example... Unfortunately with global warning it's snowing less than in the past...

@titodude Não digo que esse vídeo seja verdadeiro (não sei se é), mas ano passado caiu entre 30 e 40 cm de neve na serra catarinense de uma só vez e não foi nem perto da maior nevasca da história (houve nevacas mto maiores anteriormente). A informação que vc deu é totalmente errada.

It's so strange to imagine a place where it snows in july-august since it's summer time for us in north america and europe. I went to Canberra Australia last year and their autumn is in April and May. It was ODD. I was left feeling the heavy mood of the season, but without the release that Halloween brings and for me autumn is a foreshadowing of Halloween. Trees are naked from june through september which is such a depressing sight for me lol.

Brazil is a huge country (if you dont count alasca brazil is even bigger then USA) so we have several types of climate/vegetation here just like in USA.

Cidades como São Joaquim e Urubici (além de vilas nos pontos mais altos do sul do Brasil), costumam ter neve pela noite principalmente, quando as temperatures são inferiores a +2°C.
