Unbelievable! I am 45 years old, and not a boy scout but a sailor. I just found out that I always laced my shoes with a granny knot bow, and now have to learn to lace my shoes again! Thanks MathExplorations! Greetings from the Netherlands!

omg! I have been to yahoo answers, chacha, wiki, etc trying to find out how to tie my moccasins! I got them, and my left came undone. I tried doing it granny, but my right looked so perfect and my granny was gnarled, ugly, and twisted. I think I did them like yours. tie regular, pull undone, tie again. it worked. you cannot tell it came undone at all. :) ily!

oh wow . thanks ! this was a really big help ! i got moccasins -& my bow got untied. so here i was trying to tie it, no matter what way i was tying it, it just wouldn't look like my other one . so i watched your video -& i found out that i was doing a 'granny knot.' so i did like you said -& it came out just like the other shoe ! :D thanks again!

this was so helpful but if u can can u demonstrate this with a leatherish sued kinda string because my dad said he could tie it on my moccasins but he cant lol

Thanks buddy! I'm a boyscout too lol. What I did was just tied a square knot and slipped in the loops and checked it was tight. I used these for my moccasins. They have to be good looking knots ;)
