Most of the world(nowdays) is democratic , even the most primitive nations are trying to penetrate the essential democracy into their daily life. Not only as rules and laws, but as their daily existence. Hence , as a result of the growth of the democracy , the pluralism is involved .

As for Israel's worries, I guess you aware of the situation in Gaza which is occupied by Hamas ( You could say Israel , however we both know it's not the truth). @DrTimWhatley Israel has always acknoledge the palestinian estate, furthermore they had always said in the peace talks that they want to live side by side with them, BUT they must kick out the terrorists. Palestine is the one that denies Israel right to exist and wants them out, they want no peace, just the death of the jews.

Those are Sephardic Jews, and they make up about 30% of the population. They are not 1/2 or even close to it.
Ashkenazi make up about 50% of the population, and they control all positions of power in the government - they are from Europe.

It's a direct result of the founding of Israel, which is why it started to happen in 1948, right after Israel was created.
You might want to read what Theodor N. Kaufman wrote about this expulsion, since he's Jewish, and claims to have helped participate it.

It doesn't matter who lived on the land. What matters is who had SOVEREIGNTY. No other people after the Canaanites had a state on that land. Jews lived in many places in the world during the Exile, but they never claimed sovereignty over any other land. Muslims demand sovereignty wherever they gain large numbers. Anyhow, the League of Nations ruled that it is the Jewish National Home back in 1922! It is Jewish land by EVERY standard!

Israel was built on wastelands and swamps which the Zionist immigrants bought from absentee landlords; the vast majority of what is now Israel was uninhabited desert. there have unfortunately been some instances of land being stolen in the west bank and gaza but that happened after the 1967 war and had nothing whatsoever to do with the creation of Israel
