  • ok merci

  • Is the rolling bassline that comes in @ :26 on your track First off the line your 'Nord Lead' ? I have never been able to get such a rounded bass out of the Nord. BTW : I posted this question on your FB page also :0 )

  • @Mattkmc Replied on facebook :P

  • trying to decide if i shuld get this or a new mopho keybaord. the mopho new is the same price as a used nord lead 2 rack. damn this is hard

  • @djstruggz412 depends, to you want a real analog "old-ish" sound or a very sharp/unic sound that no vst can recreate (even the Discovery DSP).... haven't tried the mopho but from what I know, I take the nord any day

  • @djstruggz412 If I would be going for analog, I would take a prophet or (if I would have the money) an andromeda :P

  • Hey Man great tutorial, I have just bought a 2X and it has helped me out a lot, it would be great if you could make a tutorial on to make these great psytrance sounds, arpeggiated leads, dark FM grinding sounds and pads would be great. It's psytrance I produce as well but in the early stages. Keep up the good work great stuff.

  • @macleanmurdo78 Thanks man glad you liked it :) I will sure keep in mind you suggestions, cheers

  • Some wonderfully mean sounds here... very tasty. I've created some tracks using virtual Nords which are pretty tasty, but of course nowhere near as instantly impacting as the real thing! Have a listen if bored. Sound cloud dot com slash electronicaz. Enjoy!

  • looking forward to the tutorial!

  • @meninrevolt thanks! I'll be on it in january when I'll be back in the studio

  • wow great programming

  • @narudh thanks :)

  • @davidjazay thank you very much, I plan to do a tutorial for synths in general based on that Nord :)

  • fucking good syntheeeee

  • SUbbed! looking forward to the torturial :)

  • Yeah I was surprised too since the synth is very sharp.... but that sharpness is why the bass is so unic ^^ it's like right in your face you know :P

  • @LESDT How did you manage the panning effects with the first patch? was that done afterwards when mixing or was it within the synth itself?

  • @V100BB The very fist patch has no panning effect from what I hear? Anyway, with a Nord you can use the Unison button. Instead of having one OSC, you have two. One for each ear... and since those two OSCs act randomly (to simulate analog) it creates a stereo effect.... it's like recording a guitar twice (one record panned left and one panned right) to get this stereo effect... hope it answers

  • @LESDT The very very first sound, each note seems to bounce from left to right, and yeah I know what unison does but it wouldn't explain this effect, cheers for answering though!

  • @V100BB Yeah I'm sorry, when I listened to it before answering I didn't know my earbuds were broken and playing in mono hahaha... anyway, now I got new ones ;), and the first patch is just the unison actually

  • @V100BB A little more explanation... the unison on the Nord is pretty heavy. I mean the delay between the two OSCs can be quite big. And you hear it a lot when your notes have no sustain (like the first sound in this demo, when the filter is down, there is no sustain)... So you get than "illusion" that the sound is jumping from left to right and vice versa.... hope it helped!

  • @LESDT Ah nice one, cheers mate, I was really surprised to see there was no way to pan things on the lead 2x without using independent outputs for each layer (ABCD etc) and being creative, but it's good to see there's a way after all, cheers mate, great help! :)

  • @V100BB no prob, just want to add there is no way to pan at all, it is pure randomness of the unison, just saying :)

  • nice thanks for uploadin this - i never knew this synth was any good for bass
