ok i am going to fully explain the hero's shade. after majora's mask link went back to the woods to search for navi once again which is what he did right after he warned zelda of ganon after oot ending, and so he was attacked by skull kid which was soon defeated and then went back to look for navi but died in the lost woods and became a stalthos which is what would happen if you die in the lost woods the hero shade has a rusty mirror shield and the final sword upgrade the shade is link from oot.

Well you are right in everything except that he was punished by the godess when he turned into a stalfos in TW Hero Shade said that, but because he was the Hero of Time and he have the part of the triforce of courage so that save him from being and stalfos. No no see, he DOESN'T have the Master Sword anymore. It was "Put back to sleep" after the end of OoT. I'm thinking that the place where TP Link get's the Master Sword is the destroyed-over-time version of the building where OoT Link obtained the Master Sword.
It's not the lost woods it's the Sacred Grove I believe. So therefore because it's many years later that could be the old temple of time. See where I'm getting at?

Zelda sent Link back at the end of OoT, so he changed and lost this spirit. The Hero's Shade is that spirit he lost.

This brings me to my next point, The hero's shade seems to have what's left of skin and is fading in and out he's a ghost not a stalfos!

I've believed that the Hero of Time Link was the Hero's Shade right from the start, but I honestly don't think that he got "lost" in the woods and died that easily... Keep in mind that Link is an awesome dungeon master/puzzle solver, so how would he get "lost in the woods" so easily? He is a whole lot smarter than you think of him, and he probably would have found a way through the forest... There is always a possibility that HoT Link's journey could continue in another game. Hmm... I'd agree with this, except for one thing. Hylians turn into stalfos not because they're lost, but because the woods have a special magic. Link, however, has protection from the magic, which is also why he can remain un-transformed within the Kokiri Forest, even as an adult. Though I do not know how he is protected, I do know that if he wasn't protected, he wouldn't have even lasted a year inside the Kokiri Forest. Yet, somehow, he's been in the forest for many years, unchanged.
2 part message bear with me. Even his skull like face has an otherworld ghostly gray hue to it. And the skull just was to show he was dead and he has been dead for a very long time. It probably was also to disguise OOT Link to the player so it isn't obvious who he is the very first time you meet him. So with that being said, the Hero''s shade is not a stalfos. Argh... the Hero's shade is not Link in stalfos form. Link never became a stalfos. We have no evidence to support such a claim other then baseless speculation. I won't deny that the Hero's Shade is OOT Link. This has been confirmed by Hyrule Historia. But nowhere in Hyrule Historia or even in TP did it imply that the hero's shade was a stalfos. It is Link's dead spirit or ghost if you will. You can even look at his arms and legs to see they are NOT bone, they are ghostly appendages.

Twilight Princess is in the Child Era. The orignal Hero of Tima felt that he didn't do anything important and wanted to help so he came and taught Twilight Princess link sword fighting moves. All this was confirmed by Nintendo.
Hopefully someday Nintendo will make a zelda game that CONTINUES the Hero Of Times life, cause the HoT is pracitcally the most famous legend :S and well hes almost referenced in every zelda ( i think :S) Especially since hes wearing completly different armor as the heros shade -.-
Another very important thing is, why do we never see Link's parents? Because he doesn't have any? (skyward sword spoiler ahead) My guess is that it's the same unbreakable spirit from skyward sword that just reincarnate into the hero of time everytime the world's balance is threatened by the curse of demise at the end of skyward sword who fuses into the new bad guy like Ganondorf.
@bouchandre It's because his parents aren't important to the story, whatsoever. The only time Link has family is when they play some role in his adventure, whether it's his sister and grandmother in WW, or his uncle in LttP. His mother is mentioned in OoT, though, and doesn't he have a father in MC?
But EVERYONE HERE IS MISSING SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT HERE. In tp, right after you learned the last sword move from this guy, he says to link something like: "be careful, my son!"

Its quite simple what happened: After MM, Link went off to the Lost Woods back in Hyrule to find Navi, because thats where she was from. He got lost, since, its been so long and he's not Kokiri. He was lost for quite a while. Eventually, Link died. Instead of being turned into a Stalfo, he went into a sort of Spirit Realm, training himself. Since he wasnt turned into a Stalfo, he grew like one, with a sword and armor. He eventually waited for his reincarnation to come. *His soul was split into 2

remember, only Zelda was hearing the voice. When she ask everyone else, including link, they all couldn't hear it but her. She later reveals it to be (spoiler alert) her former self, trying to restore her memories and abilities. The same could be said hear knowing how reincarnation works in a way, just like with Ang in the avatar, this could all be a way for Link to restore his former abilities from a past life. Midna doesn't even acknowledge the wolf Shade nor the ordeals link went through
(Spoiler) Furthermore, this connection between the two mirrors what Zelda went through in Skyward Sword, with her hearing the voice of her former past as Hylia to restore her former memories and abilities as the Goddess Hylia. This news of OOT link communicating with his latest incarnation is pretty awesome!

Zelda sent Link back at the end of OoT, so he changed and lost this spirit. The Hero's Shade is that spirit he lost.

He doesn't look like a stalfos. He resembles the ghosts in TP, so he's possibly not even a stalfos to begin with. also when you meet him for the last time He says (confermed! I've played it and you can find it on Youtube) "Go and do not falter, my child!" Stalfos are just bones incapable of having children. This brings me to my next point, The hero's shade seems to have what's left of skin and is fading in and out he's a ghost not a stalfos!
And yes this seems more like a fanfiction.

this info is false, there are multiple hero's of time. to prove this look at the legend of zelda of zelda skyward sword this takes place before legend of zelda Oot. i think the goddesses pick a new hero of timevwhen one is needed.the only reason shade turns into a wolf is because he can't be in stalfos form in the currernt world that is why he warps link into another realm.

I've believed that the Hero of Time Link was the Hero's Shade right from the start, but I honestly don't think that he got "lost" in the woods and died that easily... Keep in mind that Link is an awesome dungeon master/puzzle solver, so how would he get "lost in the woods" so easily? He is a whole lot smarter than you think of him, and he probably would have found a way through the forest... There is always a possibility that HoT Link's journey could continue in another game. Oh and nice vid :)

Hmm... I'd agree with this, except for one thing. Hylians turn into stalfos not because they're lost, but because the woods have a special magic. Link, however, has protection from the magic, which is also why he can remain un-transformed within the Kokiri Forest, even as an adult. Though I do not know how he is protected, I do know that if he wasn't protected, he wouldn't have even lasted a year inside the Kokiri Forest. Yet, somehow, he's been in the forest for many years, unchanged.

2 part message bear with me. Even his skull like face has an otherworld ghostly gray hue to it. And the skull just was to show he was dead and he has been dead for a very long time. It probably was also to disguise OOT Link to the player so it isn't obvious who he is the very first time you meet him. So with that being said, the Hero''s shade is not a stalfos. He is OOT Link's long deceased spirit.

Argh... the Hero's shade is not Link in stalfos form. Link never became a stalfos. We have no evidence to support such a claim other then baseless speculation. I won't deny that the Hero's Shade is OOT Link. This has been confirmed by Hyrule Historia. But nowhere in Hyrule Historia or even in TP did it imply that the hero's shade was a stalfos. It is Link's dead spirit or ghost if you will. You can even look at his arms and legs to see they are NOT bone, they are ghostly appendages.

Twilight Princess is in the Child Era. The orignal Hero of Tima felt that he didn't do anything important and wanted to help so he came and taught Twilight Princess link sword fighting moves. All this was confirmed by Nintendo.

Another very important thing is, why do we never see Link's parents? Because he doesn't have any? (skyward sword spoiler ahead) My guess is that it's the same unbreakable spirit from skyward sword that just reincarnate into the hero of time everytime the world's balance is threatened by the curse of demise at the end of skyward sword who fuses into the new bad guy like Ganondorf.

The only time Link has family is when they play some role in his adventure, whether it's his sister and grandmother in WW, or his uncle in LttP. His mother is mentioned in OoT, though, and doesn't he have a father in MC?

A shade is basically just a ghost. It's like the spirit of the Hero of Time unless Nintendo actually derped hard and said he became a stalfos. Like, Nintendo confirming the things they have, it's obvious they didn't really think out some parts of it and seemed to want to annoy people with their own theories.

Its quite simple what happened: After MM, Link went off to the Lost Woods back in Hyrule to find Navi, because thats where she was from. He got lost, since, its been so long and he's not Kokiri. He was lost for quite a while. Eventually, Link died. Instead of being turned into a Stalfo, he went into a sort of Spirit Realm, training himself. Since he wasnt turned into a Stalfo, he grew like one, with a sword and armor. He eventually waited for his reincarnation to come. *His soul was split into 2

remember, only Zelda was hearing the voice. When she ask everyone else, including link, they all couldn't hear it but her. She later reveals it to be (spoiler alert) her former self, trying to restore her memories and abilities. The same could be said hear knowing how reincarnation works in a way, just like with Ang in the avatar, this could all be a way for Link to restore his former abilities from a past life. Midna doesn't even acknowledge the wolf Shade nor the ordeals link went through
