I would accept (for now) outlawing all abortions except rape and incest; that would save over a million lives a year. And it is a scientific fact that a unborn baby is a human being, not just "cells". And to equate the possible tens of thousand of deaths a year in a (possibly) unjust war, to the slaughter of 1.1 million innocent babies a year, is not a good argument.

In this case, the right to life is more fundamental than the mother's right not to be pregnant. A mass murder's right to life stops the minute he tries to kill other people, a rapists right to life stops the minute he tries to force himself on an innocent defenseless woman, and likewise, a fetus' right to life stops the minute it uses a woman's body against her will (in much the same way as a rapist, might I add). So no the right to life is not an inalienable right, it CAN be trumped which in this case it is.

I am Prolife, too. But I'm not this extreme. I think we need to limit the need for abortion, I think everyone would agree with me there. I think every situation is different, and it all depends. I don't agree with abortion for convenience. I think there should be abortion available to those who truly need it, like for reasons of rape, medical reasons, deformities, etc. I think there should also be limits to how many abortions one woman can have, for health reasons.

I would accept (for now) outlawing all abortions except rape and incest; that would save over a million lives a year. And it is a scientific fact that a unborn baby is a human being, not just "cells". And to equate the possible tens of thousand of deaths a year in a (possibly) unjust war, to the slaughter of 1.1 million innocent babies a year, is not a good argument.
