Both meelee and Brawl Suck! they are both unbalanced and crap. SSb4 better be balanced and hopefully all characters will be great! With soe patches to fix up characters in the future, SSB4 should be a solid game

Brawl is full of MK's and Snakes with an occasional Diddy and Falco. Theres no low tier mains who have any potential to win a big tournament. Brawl has more characters sure but that doesnt matter at all when people only play as MK. Melee has tech skill and better competitive gameplay.

I agree with you on this one. Despite me having yet to debut in a tourney, I love both games. The game I'd mostly play in tourney's is Brawl over Melee for some of the same reason why most people prefer it: it's at a pace where anyone can become great. However, recently buying Melee off a friend, I'll practice and get better at it because the way they made it complicated only makes me wanna perfect it.
Brawl and Melee are both good games. Just because you can wavedash and combo forever does not make melee any better or worse. Just because brawl has a bit of slower gameplay and different technicalities does not make it better or worse. If you like the game, play it. If you don't, sucks to be you, wait for the next release.

1) Well duh they don't play the game at a competitive level. They wouldn't know which is better, if one of them was.
2)It's a whole different game. All you have to do is learn how to adapt to the melee playstyle, and there you go. If you truly try, you can play both just fine.
3) I have put in countless hours towards playing both of these fine games, and can still say one is not better than the other. Why? Because they're both great in their own ways.
@neofirma I think that you really cannot directly compare any of the three Smash games. They are products of different eras. Is the original smash horribly flawed mechanically compared to the newer games? Probably, but it was fun at the time and still has a high replay value. If you prefer melee, play melee, but don't attack others because they want to play Brawl. I have played all three games competitively and I consider each installation the greatest fighter of its generation.

Honestly..I like Melee a lot more not because of anything to do with professional play and more to do with the fact that that game feels more like Nintendo actually put work into it; like they cared about the game itself. Brawl has a shit load of content, but seems almost like a shallow effort: 'Here guys, hope you're happy,' whereas Melee was, 'We KNOW you'll like it, we worked damn hard on it and are proud of it, enjoy,'.
melee is a more faster more badass combat style brawl is just plain power and destruction and ultimately destroying your opponents. its hard to choose between the two. melee adventure mode and classic mode. brawl has stickers which boost your power, trophies to make special pictures, a fucking badass story mode and with fucking bosses. they have characters who people say they suck but have badassery stocked into them. melee has: the best stages and characters including roy. yep both great games
i took i fun look at the tier list (i do not follow the competetive scene) i and was laughing so hard a the BS i just saw. im not hate on brawl fans since i have the game myself and i REALY love it but the fact that some characters where so low and how many people said that meta knight is practicly invicible and how guys like Poke trainer isnt even on it. it realy is retarded. if you are good at a character and you win a tourny then it is beaus of the players skill, not the characters.

I got to the semi final round and this happened and this was my first tourney. I hate brawl stages besides the nice background you see that all of them are the freaking same, they all have one big plat form then you have probably another small plat form on the top, or you have one big plat form with 1 plat form on the top and two side by side aligned next to each other. 1) They are a casual player and can't tell the difference.
2) They started with Brawl, tried melee, learning curve was too steep, went back to Brawl.
3) They have not played melee at a depth in which you start to understand how much better it is.
4) Brawl has a higher chance of having growth in the scene. It is a newer game.

I hate brawl stages besides the nice background you see that all of them are the freaking same, they all have one big plat form then you have probably another small plat form on the top, or you have one big plat form with 1 plat form on the top and two side by side aligned next to each other. Like if you dont know what i am talking about look to your right at the yoshi island video the stages are all like that with just something different in the background.

i can understand it's exciting to them but it is a lot more reasonable to care about something real, no? i'm a football player, and when my team scores touchdowns, i celebrate too.
i'm not judging them based on the fact that they're rejoicing, but for what? you're not the one playing, or making money. video games were originally made for leisure time, not to get obsessed over.
