We still have a fully working Nikon FM (1979) despite having the shutter button bent following an accident - the Nikon FE/ FM series were the last of the classic Nikon's before they lost top slot to Canon and Nikon's began their slide to 'plastic' cameras beginning with the FA. Such a pity that Nikon have to wheel out crap like the V1 & J1 nowadays !
@ShootsDenBrah Yup. Sorta freaked because the counter didn't return to zero when I opened the back. It wound up being some lightseal material blocking the mechanism, easy fix. Awesome camera.
@jfooj! Thank you for your praise~ I don' mind carrying heavy camera's but I think a light weight camera will be easier to carry. My nikon fm2 comes with a nikkor 50mm f1.4 Lents so I guess it's not heavy as you have described. Thank you so much for the help~
Hello, Thank you for sharing this video! I enjoyed watching your unboxing of the black nikon fm2. I recently bought one but It hasn't arrived yet, I was wondering is the nikon fm2 a heavy camera? I mean heavy to carry around? Because I have a film minolta camera and it's heavy. Thanks~
@windblowsaway Congratulations on the purchase. The body itself is not too heavy. I actually use mine when I want to go lighter (than my digitals). Of course you could make it heavy by putting a big lens on it. Most of the time I use either a 24mm or a 50mm.
@delodelo1 I've heard that while it is in storage it is good to run it through all the shutter speeds every month or so. Digital rocks but film is real. Got to try to keep it alive.
wtf bread knife...

This is a GREAT camera body - but the world has gone digital - just had to follow, mine is on a shelf now. : (

wow... USPS is better than I thought.... the box got there even though the address is all scribbled out. LOL
brings back memories though. In Jr. High School photography electives, the FM2 cameras were the bulk of the student loaner pool.

@VincentVonGoat Ken, our mailcarrier is AMAZING.
Funny, I remember when the FM2 was THE Nikon camera (well, besides the F3).
