  • wow so many thumb downs, looks like israelis and hosni are now trying to opress youtube.. :/

  • Why don't you say names, and back it up with information? That's what this video represents, Free Speech.

  • Nice vid, these are all huge problems we face today as a people!

  • Nice to see you supporting Jon's music..

  • The purpose of life is to find truth. Thank you for defending that.

  • This has nothing to do with finding truth.

  • Zimomriavky... Aaaa... This is awesome!

  • Nice to hear a positive message, Thanks!

  • We are all sinners. A pity that this many people do not want to know. We are all children of God. But to live by His commandments do not want. All rely more on themselves, making the people of idols...

  • here in miami beach the cubans the russians, the police the colombian drug dealers , nazis and comunists are human rights violators, there is a lot of crime here and terrorism gangs and corruption, all those people mentioned and others i not remember now(italian mafia too) do violations of humans rights here in miami beach area,so bad that, a jungle here,+

  • One national government should provide and fight for the security, stability and prosperity of one nation. We Americans have a lot of problems and other obligations to tend, rather than care about whos being oppressed.

  • The words "human rights" get tossed around so much that they are beginning to lose their power, especially with homosexuals. If someone is not hiring you, beating or oppressing you then ok they're violated. If the government won't acknowledge your marriages because it isn't marriage by definition, find another word for your plight.

  • Dude America was founded on lies anyway soo....

  • Dang so true

  • Fuck

  • Ok my question is posted in my acc I turned it into a video

  • There should be more people like u in this world......we'd be more peaceful and loving souls.Thank you

  • actualy human right is just a lie after what happend in palestine i wonder why you didnt talk about it in your song .. !! it the biggest crime in the human history .. !!

  • i love the vid dude

  • you all make comments about whats bad about this video. We all need to face the facts and hes right when were basiclly the only people who can do something. beacause the presidents are to weak to do anything including the U.S.

  • Slavery is a specialty of blacks. They're still rockin it in africa like it's the right thing to do. They've been doing since the beginning of time, and nobody does it better. I actually feel sorry for "white America". They've taken a lot of blame for slavery, but in reality there would be FEW blacks in America if the blacks in Africa didn't trade their own people for gold.

Looks like they didn't save that money to wisely either.

Slavery - good at it. Money managment - not so good.

  • who the hell do you think taught them how.

  • Oh, the white devils who lived in Africa before the slave trade, of course.

Fucking idiot. He's talking about slavery within Africa itself.

  • dude my bad i didnt think of it that way maybe i missed something in the lyrics. or maybe i heard them wrong i appologize and i do appreciate the fact that you did tell me and not ignore my ignorance in this matter. again i am sorry i had misunderstood. have a good day man. :)

  • I need u ppls opinion on my vid it would help me out alot

  • and Donate money to those less fortunate. It's not about violent protest or causing an uproar. I'd think someone as smart as yourself would understand that. and another thing what are you doing to promote human rights for everyone around the world. 42000 people have seen this video and i think you are the only one who interpreted it that way. Jon, I will say I wish you addded some specific examples like slavery in sudan in your lyrics instead of using pictures. It was still good though.

  • Thats why people will give things titles like the fight to cure cancer, the war on drugs, or the war agains slavery. Sometimes you need lyrics like that to stir up emotion. The reason people are so passionate about human rights is because people become furious and angry that something like slavery is still going on. Also he states in big bold letters that this is for human rights awareness. Come on anyone in their right state of mind will know this means to peacedfully protest or be active.

  • What you are doing is bashing on someone else's work of art. How can you not see that he is just trying to tell everyone to be more aware of what goes on in the world andthat people all over the world are having their human rights stripped away from them. He wants people to rally together to stop terrible things like this. And if you ask any human rights activist they will not say they are trying to end slavery. They will say they are fighting to end it.

  • I just finished reading Francis Bok's book, Escape From Slavery so I thought this song was very deep and meaningful. I will also go on record by saying Scott Warner just be quiet. I'm hereto say what Jon Henry can't because it's obvious he doesn't want to offend anyone and look like a jerk like you. I mean come on you didn't have one thing positive to say about this video like "hey thanks for being a human rights activist and spreading awareness." Criticism is stating both the good and bad.

  • A little on the corny side but I like it.

    What's with the arguement below???

  • i'm jon henry, the artist who wrote this song.

thanks for viewing our music video and spreading it! this song has no politcal agenda so please don't read into it just stay positive! the story told in it is simply equality overcomes oppression.

check out my pages to hear all my music, which is on itunes!

  • Learn to rhyme, and quell your urges for revenge.

    Vengeance is not Justice.

  • you essentially misinterpret the entire song because of one use of the word vengeance in the last verse. the story is equality overcomes oppression. nothing more. i have been rhyming for 10 years so i'll just say thanks for your constructive criticism and negativity; i am not too humble to have someone preach to me about things i think i already understand; it helps me grow.

  • No, I didn't misinterpret the song. The whole lyrical structure is based on the idea of built up rage powering your revenge.

"I can't contain it, I aim at my target. Today is the day that I make you feel me."

"I break down barriers, tear down walls, with this faith I make your structures fall."

"There'll be no peace or rest until justice is served I will never relent."

"I am empowered by my discontent, I will rail on you 'till my weapon is spent."

  • how can YOU tell ME what the lines i wrote mean? you are inferring meanings that you want but i wrote it to be nonspecific so you could interpret it different ways. you are taking metaphors that FEEL violent and inferring my meaning. but these are Metaphors. different people take different meaning from them and you do not KNOW my meaning you just think you do.

  • "I would bleed just to get my bloody hands on you. I would leap to my doom just to land on you. This is my mission through sacrifice. I will defy you, even if it takes my life. And now I have a powerful form of protest. Homemade determination strapped to my chest."

I'm glad you mentioned the end of the song, specifically for the reason that the last verse is full of not justice, but revenge. You aim your unjust anger towards people who are different than you. You're not calling out for your...

  • to aim at a target can mean to set a goal. or i can aim at a person but what i want to hit him with is unconditional love. i'm sorry but this is exactly what i meant.

i can tear down a wall, for example, when i march with martin luther king to topple the institution of segregation. in fact it was specifically martin luther king's philosphies that are word-for-word what the entire 2nd verse is about. agave love and the ultimate law of God being overpowering. it will ultimately defeat evil.

  • ...friends and family to be accepting of other people as well as others to be accepting of you. You're slapping your own label of "oppressor" onto people who were lucky enough to have been born into richer settings than you simply for the need to have a "purpose."

This song represents the wrong mindset. It's not about peace, it's about rising above. Turning the tides. You don't want calm waters, you just want the waves crashing on a different shore. This is the wrong ideal:

    Selfish, not just.

  • again, you can't know what the mindset of the song is, you can only interpret it in your own way.

from dr. king's i have a dream speech:

And there will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.

so i literally take "there will b no peace or rest" from his speech, he also says "revolt". it's metaphorical.

  • the song is not even about me. it is a story about a person personifying the idea of Equality overcoming Opression. a weapon means a tool, a medium by which you exert some force.

lines about bleed to get my hands on u, leap to my doom, are about SACRIFICE. period. like someone who deliberately marches out of church to be beaten by cops, attacked by dogs and sent to jail to protest segregation. they struggle in a creative way so that their sacrifice enlarges the rights of others. not selfish.

  • It doesn't personify equality. There's nothing in there about being equal. It's all about "getting back." Whether you meant to write a more inspiring anthem for equality or not, you ended up righting a call to war.

And you can't liken someone strapping a bomb to their chest to someone sitting in on a class and refusing to move. There's a difference between peaceful and passive resistance, and blowing yourself up in a crowded room because you think you're going to prove a point.

  • i don't want 2 have an argument with u so i'll say once again that i use metaphor in this song. every listener will hear something different. 2 say that you misinterpreted the song is incorrect in that there is no correct way to interpret it. i respect that you interpet the song in a very Literal way, and as a call to war; a song about vengeance rather than equality overcoming oppression. others interpret it differently. thank u 4 your honest feedback. u seem 2 care abt the same values i do.

  • Which is exactly why you should be more careful in the way you phrase the things you intend to say. We lead by example. If someone hears your lyrics and "interprets" the words quite literally, you may inadvertently be inhibiting the healing process and prolonging the after effects of slavery.

I'm sorry if I insulted you, it wasn't my intention. I get very heated about the way people interpret justice, and confuse it with revenge.

  • ScottWarnerMusic, you are an epic tool. Stop frontin' like you know everything. Your criticism is unfounded and your mental capacity to understand the deeper connotations of the lyrics speaks volumes to your knowledge of poetry. Instead of blasting this cat and acting like you know everything he is talking about, learn to ask a question or two. Truly pathetic.

  • Hmoose34, the next time you expect to be taken seriously by someone you try to insult by using phrases like "frontin'" and "epic tool", try reading a fucking book first. Stop destroying the English language and considering yourself worldly because you see something that says "Racism is bad" and shout whoops of approval. The deeper connotations of rebellion are pure primitive impulses. Learn the subtle differences between equality and revenge.

Until then, sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up.

  • You mad you mad! Now lets not get all emotional, you contradict yourself o' enlightened one. Talk about primitive impulses... I've said it once and I'll say it again. You are an epic tool.

  • That was of course aimed at epic tool ScottWarnerMusic.

  • I didn't contradict myself at all, nor am I mad. Disappointed, maybe, that our culture has become overrun with people like you who think themselves clever and witty when all they are is uneducated, and perfectly complacent as such.

You, who feel satisfied with yourself insulting someone with a string of words and colors you so barely and poorly put together, are going to have no effect on the world aside from that which you are expected of.

The very definition of a "tool."

    Again, sit down.

  • lol epic tool damn your a fuckin noob

  • Great song and full of wisdom! I am proud to hear the truth in this song! No matter what life puts in front of you it is worth it to fight for what is right! Evil only prevails if good people do nothing! Uli H.-M.

  • I think I have to say that this video touches my heart deeply that some one like you took the time and made this video for us all.

  • Thank you. It's great to see that our youth cares.

  • I like so much, thanks,

  • Thanks, it's nice to do something that touches others in a positive way.

  • Thanks for such a meaningful and well-done video. May it get millions of hits!

  • Damn

  • Perfect

  • PLEEAASEE SUB ME!

  • god bless u brother

  • man this is good why isnt there more text comments

  • This will make the cons mad becz they would otherwise have to face their own greed and corrupt morals. A great message for those brave enuf to see it.

  • great video.

  • This is so on,

  • It's a good moral but really people we need to help this nation fix it's self befor we use our reasources on another 4/5

  • I've given this video 5 stars 'cause I can't say anything bad about it. It's a real good and also an importent one, 'cause we can only help the people who need it, if we stand up and do something helpful instead talking about or "predending day by day that someone sonewhere will soon make a change." (the last part of this text is a part of "We are the world") So let's go on! Move! Change! Help! Do! Come on and let's "stand together as one"...

  • Liberal leftist shitbags

  • Wow! What a perfect example of someone using their gifts and talents for the greater good! This young man makes me feel so proud!

  • this didnt affect me at all only because its the same bs over and over hey look a starving family guy next to me nah screw them im gonna waste money on fuel going to africa to help those families instead of the dying 1 next to me help the people in ur nation first and when every1 is in a position where theyre not starving or dead then the nation as a group can help other nations

  • You are right, we have many problems in our own backyard, but most would kill for what we have here and unfortunately sometimes do.

  • neither this song nor its video depict helping people in one nation before your own. it takes no stance on that issue. The video shows people in my home country (U.S.) hurting , helping themselves and others, as well as working on problems and efforts around the world regardless of nation, race, religion, or economic status. this video also shows people in countries outside my own helping themselves and others in their country and worldwide. thanks for watching regardless!

  • yeah but seriously man look at us now the usa is falling fast because we helped them all in other countries. no offense bro but we need to help ourselves before we can lend a hand elsewhere. great video and song i mean great nothing is better. but ..... if only everybody in the usa was on the same page. we have so many people from other races doing nothing but fighting us constantly taking over our country american will eventualy mean nothing.

  • Many do care. These r the ones we need to empower

  • Many do care. These are the ones we need to impower

  • Great video! Excellent editing

  • Be very careful of who you sell your services to, because if it merely leads to jail and a label of criminal then it is a wasted life/weapon. Dying for principles is one thing but killing yourself because you're bored with nothing else to do is quite another.

  • Why?Why doesn't any body care about the world.

  • "What one generation allows, the next will embrace...." Powerful. Scary. Sad. True.

  • i can not say anything bad about this video

  • nice video really sad
