  • OMG! I haven't seen this for like 16 years

  • Let me guess they borrowed that "it's a hap-hap-happy day" bit from Gulliver's Travels, didn't they?

  • Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol i didnt think youtube would have this....but i found it! thanks haha

  • This is soooo kawaii!

  • I used to love these videos when I was little. I especially loved the one with the monkeys from the zoo that try on all the hats and sing. =)

  • Does anyone know where to buy this video - I would love for my grandbabies to enjoy this as much as my children did?

  • @jayroo4u I would try eBay; that seems to be the only place it shows up anymore.

  • @Brillemeister: Or on Amazon used.

Golden Books was sold to Random House after a bankruptcy judge liquidated its assets in 2000 (most of the Golden Books video library, which included everything from the classic Rankin/Bass Christmas cartoons to the rights to Shari Lewis' creations) was bought by Classic Media; the Golden Books-related videos were picked up by Random House).

  • i like that intro when i was young : )

  • Thank you for once-again bringing up long-tucked-away nightmarish memories that sum up my warped childhood... I can't thank you enough.

  • i had this on my mother goose video and i thought that she was singing with them near the end LOL. Talk about a freaky puppet show...there is a part where the words are "there came a little blackbird that snapped off her nose" D: immediatley cutting to the creepy mother goose puppet that says, "THAT GIVES ME THE SHIVERS!" didn't help AT ALL.

  • Sing Along :)

    EVERYONE!!! :(

    EVERYONE DAMMIT!!!

  • The walking kids look like they're up to no good, especially the ones with sunglasses. They have that little pervert swagger that they all think makes them irresistible, but actually makes them look like bastards.

  • I like how squishy the sun looks :D

  • ZOMG!!! When I was little I listened to this song ALL THE TIME (recorded the song onto a cd)!! I was just singing it this morning and knew the words....I was wondering if it was a real song, and I couldn't remember if I ever heard it before... xD (YAY! I'm not crazy~) O_o

  • Not hardly.

It's me you should worry about; for years I used to dream that the puppet Mother Goose in this video was abducting me...the last time was when I was 13 or so. So yeah, I'm a total headcase because I watched this.

  • The things that bother me about this is the uniformity of the way the kids are walking, and the fact that the bus has misshapen wheels.

And look, none other than Freddy Krueger is driving the bus!

  • Yeah, when the kids walk it looks like they're doing the Moonwalk, only going forwards!

  • Fond fond memories, and still have the VHS. The video that this is from is called "A Child's First Nursery Songs". I just can't believe somebody posted this. You can find anything on youtube lol.

  • tHIS IS THE SCARYEST THING IVE EVER SEEN!!!! I THINK THIS IS 1984.

  • lol,...what kid of torture is this!!?!!?!?!?

  • i do too...I've been searching for this video all over in my garage...will some please ((please)) tell me the name of the actual vhs..lol - so vintage to say now right? lol

  • I remember this intro was used in "See Sing and Play" (if I got the name right).

  • "Wee," you're thinking of. If that's the one with the bears then I do faintly remember it...kids will watch anything, eh?

  • No, monkeys.

  • I remember that one! Did it have "Monkey See, and Monkey Do, the monkey does the same as you?"

  • That would be the one.

  • This is a fun song! Thanks so much! I love the little girl with the blond pigtails in the purple dress! I like to pretend she's Tabitha from "Bewitched." and she's my favorite kid in this clip!

  • Brings back memories from when I was little of the weird 80s animation that was common at the time, kind of a holdover from the psychedelic 70s animation in a way.

  • this is song is so cheesy and and the animation is so bad that it's commical. it's ruined with the registered trademark symbol in the subtitles

  • Oh please upload the whole mother goose video!

  • According to my research, this is 1990.

  • I remember this video! and then there was this other one I still cant find with a girl magician with a puppet money on her shoulder and they went threw a bunch of follow the boucing ball songs..uhhh Im looking all over any ideas? Let me know

  • Was her name Ruth?

  • Omigosh, I'm so happy to find this! Do you happen to have the whole set? I remember watching this in the Philippines cuz my dad worked abroad so when he came he home he brought along this tape hehe maan, brings back some old memories. If possible, could you put the whole episode? that would be so awesome! thanks :)

  • me thinks me is going to make a YTP out of it :3

  • LOL lookit the school bus how it bounces up and down in slow-mo. its like a pimp mobile XD

and every 1 of those poor kids has back problems. they look like they got scoliosis or somethin

  • I remember that.

  • OH! I remember this so much!

  • This is crap. No kid today lives as happy as these animated homosexuals. Today's children live with drug-addict parents, control freaks, tyrants, etc. And I am basing this on people i know.

  • So you a disciple of Foamy?

  • Not really, But I must admit, he does have some good points on the world, and I only called myself foamyfan because i couldn't think of anything else.

  • I asked because you sounded like him. Also, who says these kids aren't on drugs themselves?

  • Good question, with the looks of how "happy" things are, it gives me the impression that they were probably forced to smoke weed by mother goose

  • There is nothing creepy about this. You are a failure to life, my good chum.

  • You don't think so? The uniformity of the smiles doesn't unnerve you in the least? How about that sun? Why does he get a kick out of all this, exactly?

  • DESTROY MOTHER GOOSE

  • They made crap like this for a good reason. Because it took place right before "Songs from Mother Goose", it was a message: This is your chance to escape before that creepy goose video starts! Hide in the farthest closet NOW.

And on a side note: In this intro, notice how the happy kids, filled with joy and ambition, were getting out of the schoolbus, and heading to Mother Goose's House? Why didn't you see them after Mother Goose *finally* appeared on camera? Why?: Mother Goose ATE THEM.

  • Ohhh, well when you put it that way...LOL

I don't remember this, but it is creepy!

  • How odd. Why is everyone scared of it?

    It dosen't scare me.

  • It has a "Peanuts" look to it. It doesn't scare me, although that sun looks like it has an allergic reaction to something. Perhaps those smiles?

  • Boring!

  • btw...does anyone remember the REAL old school Golden Book Video intro with the schoolkids? Not as cartoony as this one.

  • What was it like?

  • It was a bunch of schoolkids (I'd say about 5th grade-ish) walking, carrying schoolbooks, then right in the middle, this orange circle would appear around them and it would say "Golden Book Video" on the bottom. It's been a while since I've seen it, so I may be off. Oh, and the background music is something of an acoustic guitar, and the music is light.

  • I wouldn't really say the kids were in 5th grade, Kimsy250 (They look little), but probably kindergarten, 1st or 2nd.

  • Maybe third. It's around here somewhere; I'll link it sometime.

  • I definitely remember this...thanks for reminding me how old I am! LOL

  • This was also on "A child's first nursery songs" or something like that, with the semi-animated bear family

  • Yeah, I saw it on there. I dreamed they were addicted to drugs.

  • I'm not familiar with this version, but that attached song is a Highlights Magazine come to life.

I too am familiar with the aforementioned short version, but one of those tapes I had included this very scary ending, where a neon blue Golden Book Video logo forms in outer space. Still scares the hell out of me just thinking about it!

  • Oh yeah, I remember that VERY scary space logo. It appeared only on early Golden Book releases. The opening logo had some different music tacked onto it as well.

  • Anyone got a video of that Space thing? I'd like to see it! It could help cure my occasional hiccups

  • Currently there isn't one by itself, but it's at the beginning of that He-Man Part 2 video that tonyc1138 has posted up.

  • I didn't think that Space Logo was that scary...probably because I didn't remember that one.

  • Funny I didn't see this one. I remember more the Golden Book tapes from around '85 when it was just the logo and some interstituals inbetween the stories.

  • See the warning when it starts?

Someone is headed to jail for some buttsecks.

  • I probably shouldn't bring up your FMA AMV, then. Even though you didn't make it. ;D

Dude. This is, like, nowhere on the entire internet and I had to do it.

  • OMG! I remember this! I used 2 have the Sing Giggle and Grin VHS when I was little. I can't believe I still remember this song. LOL! I miss the 80's!
