@DilluCichlid I get the problem sometimes. It can be many reasons: they're naturally shy, they feel insecure in their environment due to lack of hiding or maybe too few fish, and they'll hide if tank is in a high traffic area. How long have you had them? If not long, it may just need some time for them to adjust to the new tank.
@3000carriers I got them at a local aquarium and fish store. The fish really love them and go in and out of them all day. I personally love the look as well. You aren't just limited to the type I have though; I have texas holey rock, but you can also buy slate and other such rocks. Also, one tip: I struggled with algae for the longest time and in the end forfeited to buying a common pleco. I am glad I did because every single rock has remained bone white, keeping a very pleasing look.
how do you keep your rocks white? My texas holey have all got a reddish brown coating on them in a few weeks. I use a UV sterizer, could it be the food??
It is most likely a brown type of algea. I had the same problem. Though some may argue the idea, I have to common plecos which keep the rock perfect. Before I had them, my rocks were dark brown and green. I was amazed at how quick they cleaned up the rocks. I don't have to put in any maintenance to keep the rocks clean.
wat other cichlids i could keep wid ma 4 pink baby convicts?? i want to keep african cichlids wid dem plz give me names also scientifc names n i hav 22 gallon tank
Very nice tank man. I really like the rock in that tank. Check out my tanks if you get a chance. I have a 55 gallon and an 80 gallon that needs fish but i can't decide on fish. Check it out see what you think would go good in an 80 gallon hexagon tank
Good looking tank and fish. How many do you have? I would not suggest going over 12 to 16 for a 55 gallon. I see you have a frontosa those get huge and you will run into a problem when they get bigger. They really shouldn't be added with the mbuna's that you have in the tank. If you had a tripod it would help your next video big time.
When this was taken, I was alraedy planning on rehoming the frontosa, I purchased it when I was not very expierenced. It is now in a 210gallon with other frontosas
Smart move. Now you can work on your Mbuna selection. I would suggest staying away from Auratus, and Kenyi which are sold at your local petstore. They are way too aggressive and will kill off most of the fish that I see in your tank.
Well they weigh a alot! The largest one weighs 48 lbs and then the other two big ones weigh 28 lbs and 18 lbs and another 28 lbs with all the smaller ones. A total of about 122 lbs. It's very nice looking to me though, and the fish love it. They almost never fight because there is so many different caves. Many of my fish have bred as well before.
Is that pikmin music?
