Yes you can if you have a memory card you can load it up fromm your computer to the memory card OR you can plug your Pocket PC to your computer ignore everything that pops up, and go to My computer-> either storage card or the regular memory-> if you choose storage card then just paste your music there, if you choose regular storage go to My documents->my music and vwallllaaaa any questions???? JUST ASK

It's a PDA, not a phone, though you can get phones that run the Windows Mobile OS. The Axim came out in 2004 and had Windows Mobile 2003 SE, I updated mine to Windows Mobile 6.1 using a hacked ROM. It does not make calls. Look at some HTC phones, HTC made the Axim for Dell before they got into the phone business and they make some nice Windows Mobile smartphones that have touchscreens like the Axim. Also, yes, they have the Internet, I use Opera Mobile 9.5 on my PDA and it supports Flash.
New ones are mostly phones running the Windows Mobile OS. If you want a PDA (non-Phone) you can get an HP (they still make PDA's) or you can get a used PDA on eBay. Axim's are still selling on eBay and they have decent prices.
If it's anything like the X50v (should be the exact same...they have the same WiFi chip) you tap the WiFi icon at the bottom of the Today screen (or Settings>Connection>Dell WLAN Utility), press the "Turn On" button, hit Setting, tap and hold the name of your wireless AP, and click Connect. You may have to enter your WEP or WPA security information.
As many of you have pointed out, the site doesn't appear to work anymore. This is probably the result of numerous changes at YouTube (HD, new site layout, etc). Instead, I recommend using Opera Mobile 9.5 with Adobe Flash Lite, which lets you browse the real YouTube on your PDA or phone. There are hacked versions floating around on XDA Developers that have working Flash.

WM3? wtf is wm3? Do you mean Windows Mobile 2003? If so, it should work on WM2003. TCPMP works on WM2003,WM5,WM6, and WM6.1. Probably also works on WM2002, never used that though.

Search for "Axim X51v WM6" on Google, you'll find a customized ROM at XDA Developers. The X50v and X51v aren't exactly the same, so both have different ROM's, but WM6 ROMs exist for both of them.
Umm...where are you getting the idea that it isn't working, it's working FINE, just tested it. Looks like videos >10:00 fail to load, but most videos work fine. I won't delete this because it still works and you need to try fixing yours, because the problem isn't YTPocket or my video, which both seem to work fine.
thanks man. i downloaded this dam TCPMP player a million times and it wouldnt work with youtube but i guess this is the same thing. the only thing thats wrong is that the thumbnails of the video wont display. so i gota read the title and figure out which video im watching.
It might. I've been able to use it with my processor at like 208MHz (the Axim has a scalable processor), but that's because I have the 2700G graphics coprocessor to do all the video work. It's worth a try, there's some video decoding options you might try, but if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.
It's on the site I show in the video, I'm not sending you anything after I tell you where to get it. That's the whole point of the video, so you can install it from the site.
Does your phone run Windows Mobile? If so, then yes, it should work. You might get lag issues if your processor is too slow or your Internet connection isn't good, but it's worth a try, you can always uninstall the programs if it doesn't work. BTW mine isn't a phone lol, it's a PDA, like a smartphone without the phone capability, but much more powerful than your average smartphone.
i dont like the interface for the mobile youtube site, i think these phones can be fitted to play the videos right thru the browser somehow bypassing the flash player and just playing the FLV file in a dedicated player on the phone
With the FLV plugin installed for TCPMP, you can also use YouTube downloader sites to download the .flv files locally and save them to your PDA or flash memory card to watch on the go (when you don't have Internet).

It's called "iPhone Style Keyboard" it consists of "Happy Tapping Keyboard" with an iPhone skin. I think I found it on freewareppc or pocketpcfreeware sites. Just google "iPhone Style Keyboard for Pocket PC".
you can get the real youtube as well as other video sites if you get the core player and flash video bundle from wm experts site..thanx 4 the video though..
The new core player is stupid. The TCPMP project was a good free opensource project, then the developers got corrupted by money and started selling it. I refuse to pay for something that should be free, and this method is free and works great. Other methods may bypass the ytpocket site, but every other way I've tried uses some sort of commercial software, trial mode software, or bloated Internet frontend software. This is my favorite way to get Youtube on my PDA.

Great video! Followed instructions and works great on my Sprint Mogul. Had initial problems with buffering so it didn't play smoothly after following the tweaking instructions. Solution?: Clicked on video. Before you play it, click OPTIONS, VIDEO, VIDEO DRIVER & check RAW FRAME BUFFER. Worked great after that. QUESTION: How can I return to a video and move to the middle to finish watching it if is long (like 40mins?). That fast-forward button is S-L-O-W. THANKS for this video!!! ;-)

Regular x50 or x50v? You can install WM6.1 on x50v pretty easily, don't think anyone has ported WM6 or 6.1 to the regular x50 though.

If the Wi-Fi is free, your usage is free. No connection charges, no hidden costs. Connect to your wi-fi at home and its just like using a laptop.
3g and GPRS however, do cost, but most operators give unlimited internet use, with a fair usage policy.

Search for "Axim X51v WM6" on Google, you'll find a customized ROM at XDA Developers. The X50v and X51v aren't exactly the same, so both have different ROM's, but WM6 ROMs exist for both of them.

Umm...where are you getting the idea that it isn't working, it's working FINE, just tested it. Looks like videos >10:00 fail to load, but most videos work fine. I won't delete this because it still works and you need to try fixing yours, because the problem isn't YTPocket or my video, which both seem to work fine.

thanks man. i downloaded this dam TCPMP player a million times and it wouldnt work with youtube but i guess this is the same thing. the only thing thats wrong is that the thumbnails of the video wont display. so i gota read the title and figure out which video im watching.

Yeah, the thumbnails are acting up on YTPocket, they used to work but I've been getting blank thumbnails as well.

It might. I've been able to use it with my processor at like 208MHz (the Axim has a scalable processor), but that's because I have the 2700G graphics coprocessor to do all the video work. It's worth a try, there's some video decoding options you might try, but if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.

Does your phone run Windows Mobile? If so, then yes, it should work. You might get lag issues if your processor is too slow or your Internet connection isn't good, but it's worth a try, you can always uninstall the programs if it doesn't work. BTW mine isn't a phone lol, it's a PDA, like a smartphone without the phone capability, but much more powerful than your average smartphone.

i dont like the interface for the mobile youtube site, i think these phones can be fitted to play the videos right thru the browser somehow bypassing the flash player and just playing the FLV file in a dedicated player on the phone

With the FLV plugin installed for TCPMP, you can also use YouTube downloader sites to download the .flv files locally and save them to your PDA or flash memory card to watch on the go (when you don't have Internet).

It's called "iPhone Style Keyboard" it consists of "Happy Tapping Keyboard" with an iPhone skin. I think I found it on freewareppc or pocketpcfreeware sites. Just google "iPhone Style Keyboard for Pocket PC".

The new core player is stupid. The TCPMP project was a good free opensource project, then the developers got corrupted by money and started selling it. I refuse to pay for something that should be free, and this method is free and works great. Other methods may bypass the ytpocket site, but every other way I've tried uses some sort of commercial software, trial mode software, or bloated Internet frontend software. This is my favorite way to get Youtube on my PDA.

Great video! Followed instructions and works great on my Sprint Mogul. Had initial problems with buffering so it didn't play smoothly after following the tweaking instructions. Solution?: Clicked on video. Before you play it, click OPTIONS, VIDEO, VIDEO DRIVER & check RAW FRAME BUFFER. Worked great after that. QUESTION: How can I return to a video and move to the middle to finish watching it if is long (like 40mins?). That fast-forward button is S-L-O-W. THANKS for this video!!! ;-)
