@polanmi I tried that... this bottle had one of those new fancy synthetic polymer (or whatever) corks so it was not budging when I tried that. I was afraid if I pushed any harder something potentially dangerous would have happened. At least the way I did it I was able to keep my distance when the glass broke. Thanks for the tip though... I'm sure it would have worked if it was a real cork.
