  • Those subtitles are completely wrong, except for the titles.

  • some one made up those subtitles, but why??!!!

  • wrong subtitles!!!!

  • and the subtitles don't match!!

  • @akernames Maybe you believe that it's not cinema and that it's onanism but, in a way, that's your point, only yours. And about your question, who gives a f... about JLG's reflection on cinema ? I think that he received an honorary academy award that last year but I'm probably wrong.

Probably a lot of people as he has just received an academy award and was selected in Cannes Film Festival 2010. Don't believe that your impressions are shared with everybody and try to express yourself correctly as it seems clear to me that i didn't insult you... thanx

  • Les images manquantes dans la poésie dans ce monde.

  • Worst subtitles, intentionally misleading...

  • Merci bdetltheil je cherchais la musique depuis des jours.

  • e prea permanenta suferinta in fiecare clipa a fiecarui timp, e de mirare ca bucuria, fericirea sint lipsite de binecuvantare?

    ce curaj, ce ignoranta, ce inconstienta sa te gandesti la iubire;

ce adanca e fiinta noastra sa o recreeze mereu ca pe un sange invizibil, infinibil,

  • the subtitles are awful and abolutely incorrect

  • great film.. it's language is beautiful.. the subtitles are very incorrect...

  • This is one of the best things ever made by humans.

  • Subtitles are misleading!

  • beautiful film

  • The music of this film is "Spiegel im spiegel" by Arvo Pärt, if you think that Godard's early works are better than his recent works, it's probably because you haven't watched his recent works very carefully as he develops his reflection on cinema

  • @jaygiroux Bloody hell, who gives a f*** about JLG's reflection on cinema? I mean, that's not cinema, that's onanism.

  • @areknames and you know a lot about cinema...

  • Perhaps his greatest movie?

  • Please do not take the subtitles seriously. it is hugely mistranslated

  • THANK YOU

  • I think this is a poem. A film in a form of poem.

  • Mr Ardevol!! te encontré jajaja Mola Godard! un abrazo

    Guille

  • IS ANYONE KNOW THE COMPOSER OR SONG'S NAME OF FIRST 50 SECONDS OF THIS VIDEO?

I GOT THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE COMPOSER : Paul Englishby

BUT DIDN'T FIND THE SONG'S NAME

  • Even if the subtitles aren't great, I think this has the best picture and sound quality compared to the other uploaded versions.

    Thanks! :)

  • Music by Arvo part

    tiltle: "Spiegel I'm Spiegel"

  • @bdeltheil Spiegel Im Spiegel, which means Mirror In Mirror

  • Gracias Godard, muchas gracias. Falta poesia en imagenes en este mundo.

Si que es un film de Godard.

Yes, It's a Godard's film. A film with own images and other images, but he makes it.

  • these are terrible subtitles.

  • The worst I've seen in years... Sometimes it's not even close to the idea...

  • are you completely out of your mind? that's a fine poem. the poem of aords and images.

  • @lightfully I was talking about subtitles...

  • Godard from the 80's to present have always been more satisfying for me than his earlier taste. Exist.

  • Yeah, his late period work DESTROYS his early stuff..

  • subs are shit but my gosh... godard knows how to get the best...

  • shit subtitle (i'm french) not realistic

  • Well, what are the original films the scenes are taken from?

  • Vivre Sa Vie (Anna Karina crying close-up), Le Petit Soldat (torture scene), and others...

  • we discover that 10 minutes is such such plentiful.

  • decisamente pura poesia...video che và direttamente tra i miei preferiti!

  • In the darkness of time

Why is it dark at night?

Perhaps, before, the universe was still your age, and

the skies were shining with this light, but since the

world has got older it is going far away.

And when i look at the sky between the stars, i can see

    only what has disappeared.

  • The last minutes of thinking I think therefore i am, the game of beeing is no more the same as the game of thinking, why? The feeling i have of existence is still not mine. It's a reckless feeling, it was born in me but... Nothing lasts, there has to be some limits in the number of books, all the throats togheter, all the spirits togheter, and all their production are not worth any pittance. Because this is the end of everything The last minutes of memory The unsuppressible
  • The last minutes of love Yes, you are young, in the full of your strength, but i'm going to die, farewell. I don't want to leave you, i don't want to get you back, nothing, nothing. My knees are on the ground already, broken, nobody tells me about anything, you wounded me and i told you so. We don't love each other anymore, we never did The last minutes of silence What was the number? What was the number? Too little what one can say, always one has to speak The last minutes of history
  • The last minutes of fear

I don't know what's gonna come afterwards, i cannot and do

not want to know it. But if this is what i want, if i want

glory, celebrity, if wanna be loved by men, i'm not guilty

of desiring this indeed, of desiring only this.

    The last minutes of eternity

    Live his life

    The last minutes of Cinéma

    Last vision

Evening, he says. Evening, she says, Evening, they say.

  • A note about the "translations" in this video. The written text has nothing, nothing at all, to do with the actual spoken text.

For example, the spoken words start like this:

The young boy asks "Why is it dark at night?"

The old man replies "Perhaps, before, the universe was your age, and the sky was resplendant with light, and then the world got older..." etc.

See? Nothing to do with the written text.

  • this might be too much to ask, but could you post any other corrections. I would adore that.

  • This isn't a Godard work but a bunch of clips from his work sewn together in a way that would bore him. Fuck people who do kitssch like this.

  • sorry mate, you're wrong. It's from the short story collection Ten Minutes Older The Cello, in which a series of filmmakers were commissioned to create a short film on time (in the span of ten minutes), and this is Godard's piece. You might be right about boring him though.

It makes sense that he goes through his entire body of work to represent time. It shows you where he was, and what he was creating in those pockets of time; those moments.
