Pride- shows up at 7 MDB- shows up at 8

Pride- founded in 1869 MDB- founded in 1913 (for those of you that are bama fans and can't count, thats 112 years versus 98 years)

Pride- can actually perform the Circle Drill correctly MDB- We just won't go there

The number one comparison- The MDB has four drum majors and still sounds bad. The Pride only needs one and we are rockin' the house Neyland built. GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@TheMayor1991 To bad we can't say the same for your football team. We excel in every aspect of UA, including the band. We never see the UT band, EVER, on national television. If I recall, MDB got an extended segment during the National Championship at Rose Bowl Stadium. That's trumps a MILLION times over everything you mentioned because we are the MFMDB! RTR!

@uabamagrl The Prides been on National TV, you wouldn't know because you don't watch Tennessee football. And every year when we go to Alabama we have Alabama fans that come and say they liked watching Circle drill better that watching the MDB. also how many presidential inaugurations has the MDB been in? because the Pride has been to every one since Eisenhower. and I'm pretty sure that parade would be on national television.

8 am is not an early practice time. this is a great tribute of band but lets face it, people don't appreciate the band. I'm in one myself and I can say first hand that we never get any recognition for how hard we work.

People recognize and respect the MDB... Alabama fans take pride in their band about as much as they do in their football team.

Paul "Bear" Bryant said: "I don't know if I'll ever get tired of football. One time I thought I might. . . I was out there on the practice field wondering whether football had passed me by. Then I heard the Million Dollar Band playing over on the practice field. When they started playing 'Yea, Alabama,' I got goosebumps all over me."

I'm former MDB '73-'76. We wore the "Star trek" uniforms seen in the film.

Great stuff, thanks for posting. One mistake, the band got its name in the 1920s not 40s.

@edko426 Ya Wikipedia said, "The name "Million Dollar Band" was bestowed on the organization in 1922 by Alabama alumnus W. C. "Champ" Pickens after the band raised funds to travel to the 1922 Alabama vs Georgia Tech football game, where Alabama lost 33-7." so its a little inaccurate, but we have like 6 origin stories for, "War Eagle," so I cant say anything.

@booooooolpusterd a sports announcer years and years ago reffered to the alabama offensive line as elephants or something to that extent bc of thier size on the radio....and another announcer made a comment over the radio about alabama looking like a crimson tide flowing over the field.....thats where the elephant and the name come from

This is an AMAZING video, except for the fact that:

A) It is labeled wrong. This is the University of Alabama Million Dollar Band... A small but important fact.
