if you dont want to go to riften, there is a similar exploit in markarth. once you get a dwarven bow a courier sends you to an altmer who wants to pay you for it for research. you can keep persuading him without giving him the bow as many times as you want.

You might also want to activate the thief stone, which levels you up in this skill, (and other thief skills) 20% faster. It'll save you a lot of time here.

You can do this at lvl 15 pretty damn easy takes 10 extra secs. Just gotta talk to this old lady first who gives a 10+ speech for 1 hour!

step2: get your little brother.

step3: tell your brother you'll give him 5 quid if you keep spamming this button.

step4:dont give him the 5 quid.

end result! max speech! priceless!

@huldu Speech is easy to level up. Just get some money stored up, make some good barter fortifying potions or enchantments, and just keep buying and selling a 5000-10000 septim item to a shopkeeper. It's pretty fast and the menu saves the item position each time so you don't have to keep scrolling to it. With a 25% barter necklace and one of the 20% barter masks, you only net about -200 septims each round. Just smith something to make it up.

For those who are low, you need to get to 25 Speech to get this to work. If you're close though, you can choose the (pay gold) option a couple times to get there, took me only 5 payments to get from 23-25.

haha, only problem is that if u level up your speech all the way, your character will go up levels, and so will some of the enemies, but you wont have upgraded any of your fighting skills :P

if its not working try paying him to tell you the truth a few times to level up your speech. most likely your speech isnt good enough to get him to tell the truth by persuasion yet.
