@queerp The brand is 'Fred Perry' – popular with the Mod, Northern Soul and other British music movements, including of course, Britpop. The company was founded by the last British tennis player to be the World Number One, Fred Perry – the clothing brand's laurel wreath logo is based on the original Wimbledon logo. Hope this helps.
i'm pretty sure he plays regular bar chords with the lowest note on the A string for the clean part, but then adds the low e string along with the rest of the chord when he kicks on the distortion. you can sort of see it at 1:15, where it looks like he's fretting the low e in standard tuning. It adds a bit of dissonance the sound when he adds the rat distortion. In the recorded version, the most loud and distorted thing you hear is the bass during the chorus (i think)

They did play that riff at TiTP, just the BBC couldn't show it because the crowd were singing "Here we fucking go" at the top of their voices, as is the tradition in scotland! Amazing.
@jmmypaddy He's just using his pedal board - more than like a fuzz box or a phaser... I use something similar when I play the same song called a Big Muff... then I use the channel selector on my footswitch to alternate the chorus and verse. I currently play in a Blur tribute band and should be gigging in the summer sometime
@kingoftroy57 Nah it isn't, if you look at the video, when he plays on the bottom E string, he's still playing the 5th chords, he uses a Digitek Whammy and uses the octave lower settings then plays the chords in the high end.
