Im really glad this was Don LaFontaine's last trailer, this film was powerful and eye opening. lol Im glad his last trailer was one of those other horrible comedy movies. RIP.
The entire voice over is a classical Don LaFontaine trailer full of cliches. They have been used in trailers for crappy, brainless action movies for decades. But to use those cliches in a trailer for a documentary that documents the horrors of the real world gives the trailer and Don's words eerie poignancy.
The fact that it was Don's last trailer voice over almost enshrines this trailer and Don's works.
What an honor to have been his last movie trailer!
Very few people in his business have a distinct enough voice to reach the iconic level for an entire generation as his was. I don't believe his notoriety will not fade any time soon. Don LaFontaine will go down in history as probably the most rememberable voice over actor ever.
I'm sadden to know that every time I go to the theater, I will no longer be hearing, "In a world..." as I wait for the feature film to start.
Fitting how Don LaFontaine's last trailer begins with "In a world...."
