If your don't know Italian, make sure to phonetically learn the phrase, I am sorry,I don't speak Italian, do you speak English? Then give a big goofy smile. It worked for me in France for 10 days ;-) I only met one rude person the entire trip on my first night and my sis who is a language goddess pretty much took care of him. We walked in the the door at this restaurant and this old grouch yelled, "NO PIZZA FOR YOU" the took us to our seats. It was epic and my sister voule' vou'd him & we left.
you won't be saying "yeah ok" when you're there, trust me. It's absolutely beautiful. Go to Assisi, Italy. Less touristy, more intimate and it's absolutely beautiful. Great gelato, great people and just GREAT in general!! Hope to see a post Italy vid!
I was in Italy for a couple of weeks last September. I spent a few days in Rome. I didn't see any of the shit you're talking about, but I did get out of the country with having set foot in only one church (St Peters), so that was a plus.
Do yourself a favor, hop a train, and take a short side trip to Florence. It's much more laid back.
Tip of the day: You can survive anywhere if you can point, and say "please" in their language. I can't tell you how many meals I ordered that way.
Do not call your taxi driver a f'in dumbass- he will understand you - he will dump you out in the Roman Ghetto & charge you 10x what the fare should have been.
Same with Immigration but with dogs and guns, not good.
Cry at the Vatican.
Florence = Food.. eat - a lot.. then find the local glass blowing dude.
Enjoy the trip
PS: you'll be tempted to follow the locals on a rented moped - don't!
You without glasses? It's odd seeing that, because I've never tried to imagine you without wearing them. Not that I would like to, because I think glasses are hot. :P
I'm sick too, but I'm getting over it. Hopefully you will feel better soon as well. ;)
Anyway, while in Rome, I recommend to try and get into a mock gladiator fight. We need to see you kick some major tail. :D
I swear there was someone sitting in the row behind me on the plane the other day that I would have swore was you if she had been wearing a hat like yours and had the piercing.
I'd hook you up with one of my cousins who lives in Rome but I can't vouch for his respectability. He hangs out at night in the Piazza Navona. Don't go there alone though.
I can't give any advice, since the last time I was in Rome was in 1970 and I was in 4th grade (I'm still pissed the closest I got to the Vatican was 2 blocks when they rounded us up and we headed home. We weer there on a field trip). If you get a chance, head south to Gaeta, it is a neat town and I lived there for 14 months. Take pictures and video, I want to see what it looks like now :D
I don't care if you don't like the tourist stuff, you HAVE to go to Villa Borghese, because it's a small museum and Bernini is the best sculptor ever.
Your ad was about Utah and then i got distracted. BUT ROME!! Wow please visit the ancient ruins and do some role play! Im so envious of your trip! Go small town all the way, they are so interactive!! Wow have a great time Nutcheese!!
Have a great time -- you can pick up cheap glow-in-the-dark rosary beads if you hunt around the Vatican; be ready to be outright mean to Gypsy children and women with "babies" -- I had to slug a woman holding her "infant" to get her to loosen her grip on my arm as she went for my wallet. If you think our local SF homeless are pushy when they spare change you, you're in for a big surprise. Fun!
It's been too long since I was there, and we hit the touristy places. Check out some websites like LonelyPlanet or VirtualTourist where people leave msgs of things they like/dislike. Three weeks! I am sooo jealous!
EVERYONE looks at the kleenex after they blow their nose AND looks at their poop after they have pooped. Its natural to do so. We instinctively look to see if we are healthy. If your mucus looks abnormal, you are probably getting sick, and the same goes for your poo.
Go to the Rome crime museum! It rocks!Souls of Purgatory is good too. Also Pompeii, its worth the train ride. Sorry You are going when our mighty dollar ain't so.
I subbed recently and this is one of your first videos I watch, so i had not expecting mucus to be the main attraction. but thats ok, ill get used to it ;-)
Any outdoor cafe in Rome is great for people watching. Go to any cafe on the Via Condotti near the Piazza de Spagna to watch the rich at play! Or, try the Piazza Navona to watch musicians and performance artists. Please let me know how you get on :)
That's great, thanks. btw... when you're sitting there, lounging outside the sophistcated cafe and the rich and famous are promenading by, don't forget to fart as loudly as possible.
If I were going to Rome for three weeks, I would spend most of the time sitting at cafes on piazzas in stylish sunglasses, drinking espressos and Cinzanos and smiling mysteriously as I flirt with the boys (or girls, if you prefer) on Vespas. I would probably shoot lots of video of said activity / inactivity.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do, ie: drive a scooter round like a maniac, swear a lot in Italian making obscene hand gestures (and hence riding your scooter with no hands!), eat well and pay taxes to Ceaser and stuff :)

you should run around posing like statues but with a little nutcheese twist on them :D can't wait to see what fun you have in rome! hope the cold dies down before then
I had to look away from the monitor in the middle of the is video. UCK. Anyhoo... yeah, I've never been to rome but here's what I recommend: go to the same neighborhood place for coffee every morning. By the 3rd day you'll see local familiar faces. The'll tell you what to do.

See if there is a museum to the Mafia and look for my name in there to see if some of my family had anything on record!! HAHA!! HAVE FUN KEL. All you people getting to take vacations. Well maybe when I retire I can take one - but that's 5 years away - I could be dead by then. We'll look for your weird videos when they happen. FUN times.

Some people just can't let you enjoy anything...I am going to shit in a bidet and send a video of it to all those negative people!
I am so happy to be going back to Roma and sometimes I think I may stay there!
We will have lots and lots to do....worry not dear cheese!
We leave San Francisco on the 1st of April and are spending a week on the east coast to see Diana and her family, Terry and some other people....especially looking forward to meeting Sukatra and Hank while back there..
Then on the 7th we fly to Roma...bella Roma..we will stay there until the 30th but on the 16th Diana and her husband are joining us!
ciao bella, Reynaldo with love & peace from San Francisco Baby!
Sounds Fab! I remember you guys talking about it in Stickam but I didn't think it was so soon!!! Look forward to some great fun vids from there! I can't imagine what Kelly will post hahahhaa I'm sure it will be VERY AMUZING! lol
three weeks is a very long time-I won't say I told you so,four days is my usual limit-it's nice to get home-burning three weeks vacation all at once is a sin-I was allowed to take my vacation with long weekends/holidays-seems like so much more time away from work-enjoy your trip-screw what I just wrote
go to a place called "sesso con un maiale" and ask for the "turista speciale". You will love it, walking after your visit there may be a bit of a problem, but trust me, you will love it.
I was gonna give you shit for not showing us the product of your nose blowing but then you hawked up that beautiful loogie so I'll cut you some slack.
You have 3 weeks, just follow some Romans around and see where they go. Apparently there are random rollorblade/bicyle "raves" that sound like fun. Can you imagine doing that on cobblestone streets?!
Have a wonderful and safe trip! Never been there ...but what you were reading off sounds pretty cool! Take lots of video so we can live through your experiences!
How was your trip?

I'd also go and see the Pope.
When my father and his wife went, they saw Pope John Paul, ALTHOUGH, you have to get tickets AHEAD OF TIME to see the Pope speak.
I don't know if that is still the case, but if you want to see the Pope speak, you may need to make earlier arrangments.
Peace

I am so happy to be going back to Roma and sometimes I think I may stay there!
We will have lots and lots to do....worry not dear cheese!

Then on the 7th we fly to Roma...bella Roma..we will stay there until the 30th but on the 16th Diana and her husband are joining us!

three weeks is a very long time-I won't say I told you so,four days is my usual limit-it's nice to get home-burning three weeks vacation all at once is a sin-I was allowed to take my vacation with long weekends/holidays-seems like so much more time away from work-enjoy your trip-screw what I just wrote

go to a place called "sesso con un maiale" and ask for the "turista speciale". You will love it, walking after your visit there may be a bit of a problem, but trust me, you will love it.

You have 3 weeks, just follow some Romans around and see where they go. Apparently there are random rollorblade/bicyle "raves" that sound like fun. Can you imagine doing that on cobblestone streets?!

I played ice hockey, so I imagine I could hold my own when it comes to roller blades.
