What a thunderstorm does to a Boston terrier in Southern California

My old staffie dog went apeshit when there was a thunderstorm, he'd run into the kitchen then into the living room really fast barking until it stopped, but sadly he died last year and I really miss him. :'(

my puppy Millie crawls up in my bed next to me or runs downstairs to sleep. she hates storms and when she shakes i hold her in my arms in a blankey until she calms down. Shes a cuddlier. shes in my lap sound asleep right now(:

You need to invest in a "thundershirt" to reduce your dog's anxiety over thunderstorms. It has worked amazingly well for my dog.

My Lucy gets scared during storms. Sitting in my lap dosen't seem to get her close enough. She likes to hide under the bed too. The vet says he can give her a tranqualizer, but we do what we can to keep her distracted. Don't wanna dope my puppy. He's beautiful by the way. Nice shiny coat.

My friend has a dog and she took out her iphone 4g looked up some thunder picture and noises and started playing it on a big speaker. The dog ran under the table and started shivering. I walked over to it and put my hands on its ears and it was all better :)

I use to live in S. Fla with my Boston and we had to give him doggie prozac 30 mins before storms...he would freak out and try to escape the house...shaking, whining, etc

Our dogs get scared with thunderstorms too. There is something about the energy in the sky that they can feel and we can't. They also start acting weird when serious storms come our way like hurricanes.

Poor baby. Mine is a thousand times worse. She shakes uncontrollably and then starts panting very very heavy. I try to comfort her, but she runs to the bathroom to hide. I feel so bad. It's hard for me to watch and it's getting worse the older she gets, she turned 14 years old today.
