I remember that! My house is close to downtown annapolis and the hurricane didn't hit my house lol. It was sunny over my house and a hurricane was on downtown. It was very weird.
I live in St. Margaret's on the water and my yard was very similar to this. My son literally went fishing off the roof of my house and caught several perch right in my back yard!
God I remember this, my house got so messed up.
