Before - Pikmin sacrified their life's for each other enemies were strong.

After - Olimar came along and was their leader to them they know enemies certain weaknesses now. Red pikmin - resistant to fire,Yellow pikmin - Resistant to electricity,Blue pikmin - Able to be on water and not drown.

But in pikmin 2 there's 2 new pikmin,Purple Pikmin Sumo like and strong,White Pikmin- Poisonus against other enemies that eat them. They seem to be suicidal in order to make more pikmin live.
