  • Only 1 like?

  • Killer performance! Thanks!

  • I've always wondered what the f**** happened on march 4th,1982? awesome band, they had this unique sound, and sandman bass lines were so mystical and moody, they just kicked my ass from the first listen.

  • two people are allergic to morphine. My buddy and I saw them in 98' @ horde fest, we were on shrooms and I do believe it was the most beautiful musical experience I've ever had!

  • @billyjustice1 Lucky you :) Must have been great !

  • Morphine are the only one...

  • hugh grant or wuut

  • DOUBLE sax...awesome!

  • nothing that i gotta do/better get it to the bank. lol

still the best band of all time, and this performance is rather rare. these guys never did a bad song and i will love them forever. thank you, behind007.

  • Check out Monkeys of White Glove!!

We play some covers of morphine with unusual instruments like tuba. It's our beggining.

We hope that you enjoy it :D

  • I love Love LOVE this band!

  • What album is Radar from?

  • @kristofor12345 The song Radar is from the "Yes" album.

  • Morphine is the really diffirent band..

  • Thanks for uploading this, bands like Morphine are musical treasures, the real deal, to say it simple.

    R.I.P. Mark Sandman.

  • un-fricking believable!!! To bad they are gone.

  • Saw them in a hellhole bar in Dallas. This is a great example of how HEAVY they were live.

  • @joynthis Dude! I agree with that. They do not get credit for how heavy they were. Listen to A Good Woman Is Hard to Find on your stereo with the volume on 10 and tell me another band that fills in the bottom end like Morphine does..........ok.....maybe........MAYBE!......Master Of Reality era Black Sabbath, and that's saying something.

  • Sure miss this great band. You are the only one, Mark.

  • absolutely amazing! they're better live than in records!

  • 2:37 to 2.42 (L)

  • Brilliant! Love Dana Colley's gruff sound!

  • Two sax at once. Roland kirk style.

  • "All the time in the world", Marky boy??? That didn't prove to be true, did it? Nonetheless, Sandman and his denizons of the deep were innovators, and Colley was king on the double-duty thing (well, next to Jeff Coffin)

Actually, I still enjoy this dark, despondent stuff ....when the mood strikes

  • @cinemarveler he got what everyone gets, he got a lifetime.

  • double sax wowzzza

  • naaaaaaaaaaaa q grosos!!!!!!!!!!!

    capo total el saxofonista!!!!!!

  • Well you don't see a double sax player too often! In fact, this is the third one I've seen, the first two being Van der Graaf Generator's David Jackson, and, of course, Roland Kirk, who could even play three, if I recall correctly... Anyway, it's great to see a band that has an original style and even greater to see one that plays sincere music!

  • Morphine created a sound that cannot be matched. It's a thing of beauty. Most bands would kill to have this kind of chemistry, that when you hear one of their songs you know immediately: it's Morphine.

  • the sax player is sedate no skerik

thanks next time I'll set my self on fire

    -dana colley

  • Kind of a sedate sax player. Still good, but no skerik.

  • @Uchuuneko You just insulted Dana Colley (I mean literally, he's right here posting comments).

  • So cool, great band.

  • According to Wikipedia's frontpage, on March 4th 1982 Bertha Wilson became the first female Puisne Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.

That's probably not what this song is referring to.

  • daaaaayaaamn!!! *picks up two saxes and tries*...hmm. maybe need to practise :S

  • Ive never seen someone play two saxophones.

  • My baritone is a Conn 1933

my tenor is a Selmer Mark 6 1969

  • When i first heard about the band...just a guitar, drums and sax i thought that was different but I had no idea how Killer morphine was...The sandman had such a sultry voice..

  • Being near Boston as they garnered attention around the globe was truly thrilling, especially since one knew how much Sandman had worked in the music scene already. Remarkable talents all.

  • Love the two saxophones at the same time. Why did Mark Sandman have to leave us? :(

  • I'm sad about that too, But everything happens for a reason i guess.

  • Thanks! thanks! thanks! for sharing these videos

  • Does anyone know the model of Dana Colley's saxophones?

  • @nuclear944 buscher con for his bari don't remember the year

  • Thanks for the info, but does anyone know what his tenor is?

  • Why did Mark Sandman have to leave us? :(

  • If God existed Mark Sandman would still be with us :(

  • Comment removed

  • why did Mark Sandman have to leave us?

    :(

  • I saw them in Chicago and the doubble sax was in the house! Shook my bones....recordings can't do it justice.

  • you-are-the-only-one

  • thanks for posting this... it's great live performance. david, tbilisi

  • ПРОСТО КАЙФ

  • TWO SAXOPHONES AT ONCE????? wow

  • Dana Colley developed the double sax technic =). Enjoy Them!

  • Now I am pretty sure: I saw the video one more time and saw a "Europe 1" banner.

It was a show presented by Marc Toesca, I was there!!!

  • Was it really at a TV show? I remember being in a french radio show where Morphine performed these songs. Might be this one?

Taj Mahal was also part of the show.

Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing! Reminds me of this great band that I was lucky to see live a lot of times,

  • ***** MUITO BOM !!!!! Grande banda.

  • two saxaphones at once, I think Dana might just be a legend that shouldn't be forgotten

  • makes you wonder what happened on march 4, 1982

  • Favorite band I ever saw live - love these videos!

  • thank you.

  • i cant feel anything.

    it must be working.

    awesome.

  • Never got to see them in person, but I watch 007's videos nightly, great stuff!! This band is the best, and I'm so gratefull for these postings! Never seen a double-sax player before. OMG! Wonder what they'd be putting out today?

    RIP Mark...

  • Genial la parte de bajo de Mark Sandman :D

  • FDP foi ter um pirepaque bem antes de vir tocar aqui em SP.....

  • i was in Rome when he passed away but didn't know about his concert, i just had arrived. I read about his dead on the next day's newspaper... Too young too soon.. so much music to give !!

  • é bom poder continuar a ouvir...MORPHINE!!!!

  • Morphine rules. Dana's double-sax is amazing.

  • that drummer has touch and dynamics like no one I ever saw, and I saw them all.

Watch "swine flu rap band" by Jack and the Offs

  • wicked slide bass to bad (sandman ) passed away

  • toimii kuin munuainen(works like a kidney!)

  • that sax playa is skilled

  • One of my favorite bands ever!

  • so fucking originalllllllllllll

  • Thanks so much for posting this. Morphine is such an original sound and it is great to find stuff like this. I saw them live once in Columbus, Ohio in 1999 and it was the best concert I ever saw. Everyone in the crowd knew every word to every song, evryone danced together and the energy was amazing. I will never forget these guys.

    RIP Mark Sandman.

  • You are very lucky. I found his music a few years after his death.

  • I was lucky enough to see them in Sheffield, UK, in about 1997, when they were touring Like Swimming. It was in a mostly-empty club and almost no-one was paying attention. It was damn criminal. Great, great band.

  • Fuck me! A band who don't sound like every other band you ever heard.

    Genius!

  • @digger24752 Morphine only for addicts

  • This is actually better than the version on "Yes" (and that's stupendous). Somebody needs to release a collection of stuff like this with better sound. How come "Sandbox" didn't do that?

  • ahh man i love morphine.i had tears in my eyes for that performance.i never cry,i actually surprised myself!!just pure genius!!

  • I heard Rhino records owns the Morphine catalog now. Write to them and bug them. There have to be mountains of great unreleased Morphine songs!

  • I'm so sad that I never got to see Morphine play live...RIP Mark, you were such a talented SoB - such a shame you were taken away from us so soon...

  • I did get to see them play. At the H.O.R.D.E. fest in 97. I went to see Primus, and Morphine played right after them but on the second stage. That set is one of my favorite memories. I cried the day Mark died.

  • That was a great tour, great line up. I also went to see Primus and discovered Morphine.

  • @AwwwMuadDib Two of the most original and ground breaking bands of the 90's and IMO of all time. They don't get enough credit. It seems the critics want to suck Radiohead's collective ***** and ramble on about Nirvana, Pearl Jam, My Bloody Valentine and Pavement like they owned the '90's, and while I love (Some of) those bands too (Loveless is one of the best albums of all time IMO), I despise the fact that those same critics don't give bands like Morphine or Primus the credit they deserve.

  • @SCROGY or Fishbone

  • is Dana playing baritone and tenor or double baritone?

  • One Tenor in his left hand, one Baritone in his right hand ;)

  • do you also happen to know if the saxophone part at the end of Souvenir is played with a tenor or baritone?

  • To me, Tenor for the solo. But there are also baritone and tenor in the mix behind.

  • wow....i get blown away every time i hear these guys....i just wish i could find a live performance of "all your way". if anybody knows where i can find one plz let me know....thx

  • i wish the was a dvd!

  • The double saxophone of Dana Colley is what first got me interested in Morphine...the rest is history.

  • behind007, you should be honored in public for putting all these new live tracks on!

  • Loved this group, almost like a throwback to 50s era rock, not that I was alive then ;-) And these two songs, man.. I don't think I could possibly list my favorite Morphine jams, much less in order. But -if- I did have a list, these two would certainly make it.

Thanks for the awesome upload behind007!

  • Mark Sandman, what a hero...

  • Jesus god that was good. I've never even heard "The Only One" before. That was fantastic.

  • Check that, google tells me it was on Good?? They must have changed it up a lot, because it really seems like I would remember it!

  • thats funny cuz I had Good and I dont remember the song either....weird.

  • yeah it was on good, and i'm surprised you didn't know it because it's one of the outstanding songs on it. great lyrics.

  • 13 years after I saw the footage of Morphine at Glastonbury I STILL marvel at the 2 sax trick!

    Mark Sandman RIP

  • OH... MY... GOD... Morphine, I bow down!

Thank you behind007 for making a grown man cry

    :P

  • R.I.P. Mark...

Thanks for another great post "behind007"!!!

  • Awesome, awesomem, awesome...
