  • The work seems tough & adventurous, and not only am I eager to finish school & enlist, but choosing a MOS-Field is a hard choice to make.. The mock missions seen realistic enough, but the Warrants should chew them out harder than that, I've seen U.S Marines deal with that plus the same hard work shown here bearing down on them.

  • is it alright for the recruits to not have their boots tied up, like at all? Cause one of the recruits didn't have his boots tied at all.

  • @Shadoweye12 Yes you are supposed to have your boots tied up at all times, did not see the recruit with the untied boots, it must have gone unnoticed

  • @Shadoweye12 the boots that you seen that weren't "tied up" are overboots, too help keep your feet dry. They don't have laces , just pieces of rubber

  • after seeing that mustache . i'd rather shave. LOL

  • According to the Queen's Regulations and Orders for the Canadian Forces (QR&O), these are the rules for moustaches:.

When moustaches are worn alone, the unshaven portion of the face shall not extend outwards beyond the corners of the mouth. Moustaches shall be kept neatly trimmed; not be greater than 2 cm (3/4 in.) in bulk; not extend below the corners of the mouth, not protrude beyond the width of the face when fully extended horizontally and worn in a waxed, handlebar style.

  • Soldiers are allowed to grow a mustache, but it has to follow a grooming standard.

  • I thought there was no facial hair allowed?

  • That is an epic mustache, Canada should put that guy on all recruiting posters

  • I loved the missions most! seeing a Griffin Flying black was awesome!

  • What's up with that mustache on the guy in the intro? Is that allowed?

  • at 1:13 white looks ugly as sin

  • are you allowed to wear scarfs and neck lesses?

  • @LoughingIsGood For the dress instruction manual, see below:

    army.forces.gc.ca/land-terre/life-vie/uniforms-uniformes-eng.asp

  • 8:33 Ostie, he's going to be an MP military police ostie, LOL ! :-D

  • Is it true the CF will be leaving Afghanistan? or will Canada maintain a presence there?

  • @k2mkfw No, the Canadian Forces will not be leaving Afghanistan. The combat mission is set to come to a close this summer; however, a non-combat mission is set to continue until 2014.

  • What are some countries the Army is deployed to?

  • It looks a little cold! Anyone know if I can bring my balaclava to BMQ? I use it year round for cycling, hiking and jogging.

  • epic mustache at 1:56

  • If for some reason the pilots limb was caught in the plane and can't be lifted no matter the strength, and soldiers are under heavy fire, would the soldiers have to amputate the limb or would the soldiers guard the area until meds come?

  • @wookieeJoe In most cases soldiers will try to secure the area if they are able to; however, battlefield ethics are very personal and can greatly vary by the situation and/or people involved.

  • how long does it take till u become a corpral ?

  • @deering1134 Advancements in the Forces vary. To view the prerequisites for the position you may visit the Forces websites or contact your local recruiting centre.

  • @CanadianArmyNews how do you become a general?

  • @MrNonzerogrunt It depends on the trade. For more information contact your local recruiting office.

  • @MrNonzerogrunt you have to go to to OCT or RMC to become a commisiond officer but it take a long time to become a general

  • @deering1134 TOO LONG , kidding , not long if you show good performance should be about a couple of years

  • the french guys sound awsome ! and would be hard to take seriously.. as their accents are so strong and something id be un-familiar with .

  • Do officers take part in Basic Training then go to Officer Basic Training or do they just go straight to Officer Basic Training instead of just regular Basic?

  • Once you finish basic, is everybody a Private, or are somepeople already promoted?

  • @MrZakkD Your a pte(recruit) when you are on course, afterwards you become a private. Graduates of officer basic training are OCdt.

  • @MrZakkD if someone is going to be a MP, they will grad a cpl. and do the same bmq

  • that is a dirty stash on that PO

  • 2 more years.......... i cant wait.... joining the PWOR starting september :)

  • that, my friends is a classic Canadian frenchman! Nice guys they are. how do I know you ask? Im Francais Canadien Ostie!

  • @INTESTINS i read the word Ostie alot.. what does it mean

  • @walkertexasranger33 Its rice paper used in churches. Its swearing in french (Quebecois),Tabarnack is another one for example.

  • heading out april 17th

  • lucky bastard i have to wait to February 26

  • CANT WAIT TILL I CAN JOIN

  • That is quite the mustache on the Petty Officer in the beginning.

  • That's not just quite a mustache...that thing is amazing and needs more respect paid to it.

  • Well I understand what you mean but if im in a battlefield and I hear a commander barking orders and it has that nice french accent ring to it it will most likely raise my morale.

  • They have to act in the plane it's part of the fun. If you'd go and they would wave and laugh it wouldn't make it as real as it is.

  • 10-4 Over. "Hosti....you going to be an MP Military Police Hosti!? Maybe you have the glasses but not the job Hosti. You always reply topo ten ok? Not 10-4. Even Im French I know those things Hosti!"

  • im in rotp and doing a two week thing this summer and my full basic officers course next summer. i have no idea why the rotp candidates are being given a two week pre basic trip to st jean

  • To all those with military experience: How does BMQ work? Are there just weeks of class work or outdoors, or both?

  • Both... lots of work

  • those french instructors speak english do they not???

your joining arent you? best get used to what your given? they arent there to cater to you

  • I think its an excellent Idea. Chances are, at some point, as an english soldier, you will be working with a french soldier.

  • I will never forget them... the best!!

  • "common canada all we want is food" that was funny i presume he wants our tim hortons.

  • Thats weird "0.120" as a bearing, I hear they use mils instead of 360 degrees, but isn't there 6200 or 6400 mils on the entire compass how'd he get a decimal? a mil is a 1000th of an inch but a compass can't have thousandths of mils on it? just don't want to fail my topo exam!

  • he said "point" 120 not 0.120

  • acting?... this is serious.

  • He means the pilots are acting.
