  • Awesome, but way too short. They should have just these guys rift for 5 minutes or more.

  • listened to it slow and it sounds like Jim says ( well, i'm in this), thats what i get

  • Glen and Jerry seemed to just take that away to another place leaving the other two in the dust.....no offense meant.

  • Everyone seems to forget that Glen Campbell is a great guitar player.

  • What year was this please?

  • Big Jim says " Well I am his dentist"

  • Priceless video...thanks for uploading...you made my night.

  • Two of the best guitar pickers ever to play !!!!

  • who are the two bastards that didn't like this song?

  • @frasse102 Yankees.

  • Looks like I've found another one I'm going to listen to 700 times.

  • Rock A Billy!!! Great!

  • Never realized how good Jerry Reed could play the guitar. Awesome!!

  • I figured it out! "Are you from Dixie too? - Well, I'm his dentist"!

  • what happened to tom jones' face?!? O.O

  • Isn't Tom Jones from west of Offa's Dyke and considerably quite far north from the Dixie Mason Line. In that he comes from South Wales. Unless my longitude and latitude is fucked, shouldn't the Sir Thomas John Woodward just say "NO I'm Welsh, Next Question?"

  • Today, October 30th, is the 40th anniversary of this recording. Thank heaven for the internet, letting us relive these golden moments for decades on.

  • These guys know how to pick and sing!! No back ground stuff for them either.

  • Do the Netherlands are part of Dixie?!?xD

  • @Leroyfis no

  • @chocolate1thunder1 you understand it was a joke right?

  • @Leroyfis no

  • Tom Jones is creepy....he looked the same in 2000 as he did in this video.

    That's just wrong.

    Click "Like" if you agree.

  • Jerry.."are you from Dixie?" Jim: "I'm from Sussex" Who cares....good music is what it is.an these guys rock

  • I just thought he said the old Miss. like Mississippi

  • is wales in dixie?

  • This song is from 1924 and was written by the legendary Jack Yellen and George Cobb.

  • @CarlDuke Whoops, I should have said 1915.

  • I think he says .... "well I am if he is"

  • ok im just going to be the one to ask it. what the hell does big jim sullivan say when glen asks him if he's from dixie? i've been trying to figure it out for 3 days now. it seems to end in the word "piss?" but i just dont know :S "Do lamma piss?" "you limey piss?" someone care to help me out here?

  • @jessupar Trust me...I've said the same thing.

  • @muzikman74

He says: Well I am if he is.

    Great clip!

  • LIMA TN

  • @muzikman74 He says ' well I am if he is' whilst nodding at Tom. Great channel by the way, I watch it all the time!

  • @sellobic I still say it's "well, iIm his dentist". There's no "if he is" present, as far as I can tell.

  • @jessupar He's saying "Well, I am if he is", in his British accent, and he nods to Tom Jones, who, in the song, sings that he's from Dixie.

  • @bretteville Holy shit, I'm actually starting to hear it now hahaha, i had to listen to it a few times. thanks!

  • @jessupar Shoot I thought Jerry Reed said "Hello there Ni--er. How you do?" at :50 until I played it 5 times. It could go either way.

  • @jessupar " well i am in this" im pretty sure thats what he says, and it also make sense right?

  • @jessupar "i am if he is"

  • @maxbutterworth I'd say thats the closest i've heard yet, if that isnt it.

  • @jessupar he actually says "well i am if he is" but for some reason goes up at the end of the sentence so it sounds like a question... ah well at least he's not paid to do impressions!

  • @jessupar hahaha yea i cant tell either, thats rediculous.

  • @jessupar I think he said, "Well i am if he is.." referring to Tom Jones :)

  • @jessupar Jim Sulavan and Tom Jones are from the UK. When Jim responds to Glen Campbell he is speaking with an accent, so hard to understand.

  • @jessupar

In response to the question "Are you from Dixie Jim?" he says "I am if he is." while looking at Tom Jones.

  • @jamrat88 i thought i had already answered that question.

  • Comment removed

  • @jessupar I think it sounds like "well I'm in this" but I'm not American so I'm not sure

  • @jessupar

I think he says "I am if he is" whilst looking at Tom

  • @jessupar I could be wrong, but my southern ears hear: "Well, I'm at this!" (meaning he's also from Dixie)

  • @jessupar I am if he is

  • @jessupar Well I am if he is. (I am from the Faroe Islands so I could be wrong, english is not my language of birth)

  • I keep having to rewind it and listen to Tom Jones sing at 1:34 or so. just gives me goosebumps. why the hell cant people sing like this now? its all either screaming or off key whispers.

  • @jessupar Let me tell you that I'm a big fan of modern music, and I think that there are a lot of great singers in mainstream music today, but man... I absolutely agree with you. I'm not exaggerating when I say I rewinded that bit like 10 times in the last minute. It is so powerful. And Jerry reed is awesome too

  • LOL! What exactly happens between 0.47-0.49 when Jerry turnes to Tom and...what?! Funny!

This music makes me smile. I don't know what it is, perhaps the runs and leads, but I totally crack up when hearing Jerry plays.

    The Dragon

  • @Tempeldragen

he said that what she said

  • @Tempeldragen it is Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed on the Jerry's Breakdown..

  • I love how Tom Jones has a hat to cover his infamous bulge. Still this is an all star line up and oozes talent all over the place!

  • well,well,well...three holes in the ground

it dont get any better than that.....

  • Yeeehaw! And I'm from Dixie too--yes, I'm from Arkansas. The most beautiful place in the world, because "mis raices estan aqui."

  • Im from Dixie! Willard Missouri! How bout you! Deo Vindice!

  • Pure gold! Watch Jerry crack himself up @ 2:31. I miss the days when talent was king.

  • I FROM DIXIE! Tom kida sux this up

  • bad ass . new shit is piss

  • ...in an era when men were men, and musicians could actually play their own instruments. Praise'em all.

  • and before the ever present goddamned autotune! from when a time when singers could actually SING!!!

  • Man, oh MAN! This is good stuff that I don't remember ever seeing. This confirms what I always knew and heard that while Jerry is a known picker, Glen did pretty good too! Faaaaaaaaan tastic! Thanks!

  • Glen was a well known studio musician.

  • He also played withThe Beach Boys for a short while in ... '64 or so.

  • as far as I know, Big Jim is still playing around England. Small gigs, but still playing those fingers like melted butter.

  • wow! if u dont feel like pickin after that, well u just aint right! :) muzikman, simply awesome! go ahead on son! RIP Jerry

  • Cute guys...and very talented!!!!!

  • Great performance. Very enjoyable:)

    Grandma Mary

  • Yeah, I miss Jerry Reed, Eastbound and Down. Tom does a good job singing "Dixie" and Big Jim was always great. Miss seeing all these guys back in the day

  • as phenominal as jerry was, and damn i miss the snowman, old glen could pick it too.

  • One of my friends who knew Big Jim back in 1962 played his club last week. Big Jim played a few numbers with him and his band. It's a shame that Jerry is no longer around to remind you, that you have to have a good laugh at life!

  • muzicman,

    Thanks !

  • muzikman,

Could you please add "Big Jim Sullivan" to your information.

    Thanking you in anticipation.

  • Muzikman thanks for posting this great video. Please keep the Jerry Reed videos coming. I would love to see something with Jerry pickin on a Telecaster. Like Amos Moses.

  • Whooooooooooooooooooh ! where did that come from??? Thanks. I wonder what ever happened to the unbelievable clip with Jerry doing the guitar medley on the Porter wagoner show ???? Thanks again

  • Could Glen Campbell pick? Before he started singin, he was a well renowned studio session man in LA. He backed up people from Frank Sinatra, on down.

  • Muzikman you've done it again.
