  • i like the T-Shirt... ;-)

  • the thing is that all veterans are allowed to be buried with a choice of gravestone which included religious symbols of all kinds. It's not about the government putting religious symbols on government land but the right for those to serve their country to choose if they want a religious symbol on their final resting place. Jewish symbols rest next to crosses and plain tombstones for atheist. Removing the choice is removing a freedom and that is what many atheist are about.

  • Don't blame your bad grammar on your dyslexia. I'd blame it on the fact that instead of reading books you spend all you're time reading arguments between complete fuckwits on the internet.

  • @Fudg3M0nk3y91

Ah. . . so you're also a mind read who knows details of my life as well as an idiot who ignores the content of comments.

Get the fuck out of here.

  • Good sources.

    Thanks.

The fundies are losing and they know it. I love watching them run around like mice in the bottom of a barrel.

As modernity and science advance, all religion retreats. This has been the trend ever since Galileo and this advancement will continue until ALL religions completely fade away.

  • @AGNOSSI yes but science has proved more truth to the bible that which is false. Even some things I thought could not be true like the walls of Jericho were proven completely plausible and true by science. I remember watching the 1980's experiment which reproduced the sound of the horns actually shake apart a modern day concrete wall in a test just to see if it is possible and it led to ULF devices being developed today by the US Military. Kind of freaky huh.

  • @ckilr01 "the walls of Jericho were proven completely plausible and true by science" Apart from that's complete crap, in fact archiologists have found that Jericho never even had any walls to begin with. Also do you actually think that science have proven that they can be blown down by fucking trumpet? . . .REALLY?. . . REALLY?

I'm sorry but if you're really at that level where you clearly just make things up to support your position then i'm done with you, because is nothing but dishonest.

  • @manhunt48 There was a study done in the 1980's to see if it was at all possible. A sound proof room was built and similar sound vibrations were simulated by a air horn system. the person on the video I saw when the study first came out said it was 'so loud it would blow your ear drums in less than a second'. The test was successful on even solid concrete walls. this lead to a new science which is still being explored all to either prove or disprove a biblical reference.

  • @manhunt48 if you look at the archaeological site of Jericho you can see lots of pictures of the walls. I can't post links on you tube or I would.

  • This is a very random question but is that Dir en Grey playing in the background?

  • That's a great comeback.

  • Atheists = Losers

  • I bet that's the most complicated equation you've ever done.

  • That wasn't an equation so much as a mathematical certaintude. Sometimes theoretical equations have exceptions, but not in this case.

  • Ah yes, a 'certaintude'. Thats deep.

  • Deeper, so far, than anything you've had to offer.

  • If it were only an actual word, you wouldn't look like such a douche right now. Walk away. Just walk away.

  • I don't give a fuck what you think. Your'e a fucking atheist. Walk away from what . . . a fucking nobody? I mispelled a word, so what?

  • Ha, that's perfect. Thank you.

  • Anytime, pussy.

  • 'Anytime pussy', Is that your nickname?

  • Apparently it's yours.

  • Add these guys too...

    patcondell

    edwardcurrent

    thunderf00t

  • Nice. What band did first song?

  • You forgot "Breaking the Spell" by Daniel C. Dennet & "Godless" by Dan Barker as well as "God is not Great" by Cristopher Hitchens.

Two other recommendations not overtly atheistic but still highly informative: "Unweaving the Rainbow" by Richard Dawkins as well as "The Demon Haunted world" by Carl Sagan.

  • SATAN sure has people mix up with his end time lies. BUT JESUS WILL come LARGE WITH HIS TRUTH, You say what is the truth? Start With ASKING JESUS to come into your LIVE'S then start reading the bible and the truth will set you FREE From satans vidoes like this one.

  • go fuck yourself, seriously

  • You left out some good ones... PiroNiro, FFreeThinker, QualiaSoup, DonExodus2, potholer54, and Thunderf00t.

See my favorites... some good stuff in there.

  • Dude, thanks for the information.

  • we need to stop calling ourselves atheists!! this is the only argument that a christian has toward us. it takes faith to believe there is no god when we cant even observe the whole universe.

im 99.9999999999999999999999% sure there is no god, but im logical and rational thats why i leave .0000000000000000000001% open to their actually being a god

we cant disprove a god, but we can disprove the christina god... very easily

  • i like christians.

theyre almost always hard working, polite, tolerant and they work for the environment

  • D owe talk about the same poeple? Fundamental Christians aren't tolerant at all.

  • no.

we are not talking about the same people.

the vast majority of christians are moderate

  • So are most people

  • touche

  • Have you ever lied, stolen, had lustful thoughts or used God's name in vain? If you have,God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. The Bible warns that if you are guilty you will end up in Hell. But because God loves you,He sent His Son to suffer and die on the cross for you. Then He rose from the dead and defeated death. Please, repent(turn from sin)today and trust in Jesus alone, and God will grant you the gift of everlasting life. Then read your Bible daily and obey it.

  • God is imaginary and the bible is a fairy tale.

    Welcome to reality.

  • ever notice that even though atheists only make up 3% of the world population they make up 60% of the world's top minds?

and by the way, broad generalizations make you look like a intolerant asshole with as much moral capacity of a nazi

  • Nah, christian haircuts are always worse.

    Look at Cliff Richard.

  • i'm a christian and i agree most of out hair cuts are wack! XD it why i let my hair grow long (throw the book at me those who think they understand and know the bible), but yes there is a God and its just sad you guys glory now on earth, but one day you will be united on the left side of God only to be separated 4ever in the darkest most horrible reality you'll face ever alone, 4ever alone.

  • Nice pic of a galaxie. I drove one back in the seventies.

  • damn! why are Atheists soo sexy !

  • The good news is that Jesus loves you. The other good news is that we live in America and everyone can believe whatever they want. God created us with free will and we have freedom of speech thanks to those Bible thumping founding fathers. I would challenge you to watch the video series "The Truth Project" and tell me what you think after watching them. I found them to be well done and my Atheist friends even liked them.

  • "thanks to those Bible thumping founding fathers." i think not, Im not exactly a historian but, even i know that not all of the founding fathers were Christian, some weren't Christian therefore the separation of church and state is in place, if they were all Christian they would never of done this. its shocking, i'm English & seem to know more about this part of your history then you.

  • @manhunt48 now learn to spell

  • @Fudg3M0nk3y91

Now learn to attack what i said rather then the way it was delivered. . .oh wait that's right, you can't, because you people don't have a leg to stand on. That why you have to act so dishonestly.

  • @manhunt48 I don't disagree with what you're saying. I'm just saying it's hard to take anyone seriously when they don't know the difference between "then" and than", or "of" and "have". It's shocking, you're English and don't seem to know how to speak you're own language.

  • @Fudg3M0nk3y91

I'm dyslexic . . . So what? Some of the greatest scientists of all time have had terrible English skills. . .so lets not take them seriously shall we?

  • @manhunt48 Your correct but you have to realize that no matter what you believe that there should be tolerance and freedom of (and not from) religion. Some individual atheist today refuse to tolerate historical religious icons such as Arlington cemetery headstones with religious symbols on them? I served in the US military for 14 years before suffering an in service disabling injury do I not have the right to be buried with my choice of religious symbol on government land?

  • @ckilr01 *facepalm*. . . You cannot have freedom of religion without also having freedom FROM religion. NOBODY is saying shouldn't be "olerance and freedom of religion." We're saying we don't want people sticking it down our throats, and if you insist of sticking it down our throats at least have something intelligible to back it up with.

  • @ckilr01 "do I not have the right to be buried with my choice of religious symbol on government land?" NO you don't, it's government land. If you want a religious symbol when you're buried get buried on private land. NOTHING is stopping you from doing so. . . In fact I'd be DEAD SET AGAINST anything that would try to stop you doing so.

Just keep your religion out of government and out of our hair like the founders intended, you're free to do what ever you wish with it then.

  • @manhunt48 I am dead set against people saying my choice of gravestone offends them. or that something that has stood for over a hundred years is now offensive. Should we destroy the statue of David also or the Venus De' milo because some religious fundamentalist are offended. In the Muslim religion short sleeve shirts are offensive so wear your long sleeve shirts buttoned up or you offend them. I say we all have individual freedoms as long as it does not harm others.

  • @ckilr01 This is not about taking offense. I have no idea why you're even going there. It's about separation of church and state, NOBODY is saying the cross is offensive. We're saying if you want a cross on your grave fine but don't need to break the constitution to do so. I love how people are so willing to ignore it when it suits them, which nullifies the point of having it.

If you have yours religious on public land then it means the government is endorsing a religion which it CANNOT DO.

  • @manhunt48 But legally you can allow a religious symbol if all other religious and non religious entities are equally represented with a equal size monument. therefore since a individual choice of gravestone which includes all faiths and atheist gravestone types meet this legal standard, and this is what the supreme court ruled but still the suits continue because a majority of the dead are Christians with crosses as gravestones. To balance it out we need more atheist to die for their country.

  • @ckilr01 "you can allow a religious symbol if all other religious and non religious entities are equally represented " And that my friend is why separation and church is in place. . .because THAT NEVER happens. One side it ALWAYS trying to abuse it. Even now, just look at the republicans fighting for pres. None of them actually have any idea on how to fix the country. They just praise jesus, and then enough for you people to vote. and it's that which is why america is doing so bad right now.

  • @ckilr01 "To balance it out we need more atheist to die for their country." . . . . Are you saying athiests don't join the military? . . . Are you really going to try that pathetic shit?

In fact fuck it, i'm done with you. . . this just laughable now.

  • heres some great american atheists, lets see who your more loyal to, your faith or your country and some of its greatest people. Thomas Paine George Washington John Adams Thomas Jefferson James Madison Benjamin Franklin Abraham Lincoln Ernest Hemingway Carl Sagan Ulysses S. Grant and many more , i just cant be bothered with getting them all.
  • hahaha Thomas Paine was a deist George Washington- Church of England John Adams-Unitarian Thomas Jefferson-Unitarian James Madison-Episcopal Benjamin Franklin-Unitarian Abraham Lincoln-Deist, possibly Christian Ernest Hemingway-Catholic Carl Sagan-Agnostic Ulysses Grant-Methodist Seriously, no one you said was an atheist
  • I don't subscribe to religious fanatacism any more than I subscribe to atheist propaganda.

  • Mint video. Good prank. lol. Im glad to be an atheist and not a religous nut who think they should worship a god thats a sick fuck thanks to the millions of deaths caused in the name of religions, some good info. Cheers.

  • religious = moron

  • M.a.h.o.i.v.l.i.c.h. = "Moronic atheism harbors obvious ignorance, vindicating logic in christian hermenuetics."

  • Atheists look like, chimps or apes, to me. haha I can't tell the differents, from them. hahah That's why, I call them monkeys! Darwin is a Duhwin and his evolution is Duhwin! ha ha Anybody believes in Duhwin, has to a monkey! lol

  • "Atheists look like, chimps or apes, to me. haha"

You're not very bright, are you.

  • You think, man came from monkeys. haha Like all you Atheists monkeys, thinks. That would make you as smart as a monkey. You think! ha I do. Wear your race. lol

  • "You think, man came from monkeys"

No I don't. That you think that's what evolution is further demonstrates your lack of education.

  • Where do you think, man come from? Don't say your evolution bullshit. Man has come some where. That would be your lacking monkey brain of evolution. hahah Why do I want to learn, you are a monkey. Like I said, you are a monkey. That's your race. Not mind. Wear your race. lol

  • ddnn2000, I genuinely can't tell if you're being facetious or if you genuinely are this under-educated. Until you demonstrate otherwise, I'm going to assume that you know as little of science or evolution as is apparant, and as such will ignore any further comments you may make.

  • I guess, turth hurts for you. hahah I leave you alone.staalw

  • ddnn2000 u r a fucking moron. U r the definition of an idiot

  • Quit your cring bitch! You cry like a bitch monkey. Wear your inheritance, as a monkey! Monkey! lol

  • Holy crap, 2 things,

    1) Evolution doesn't say we evolved from monkeys and

    2) Not all atheists believe in evolution so I think maybe you should just fuck off

  • s.t.a.l.w.a.r.t.a.t.h.e.i.t. = "skeptic's tautological atheism leaves weak arguments regarding teleological arguments theists have explained intelligently today"

  • That's very funny. It'd be funnier if you'd not left the 's' out of atheist. Schmuck.

  • s.t.a.l.w.a.r.t.a.t.h.e.i.s.t= "Skeptic's tautological atheism leaves weak arguments regarding teleological arguments theists have eventually impugning schmucks today"

    Yes, I missed that. Thanks.

You could also put "stalwart theist-haters" for the "S" and "T" in the word "atheist" too.

I'm not perfect. Sometimes I miss letters. But not very often. Also, be careful what you point out to others.....

  • Please describe the tautology. I assume you mean the less formal circular reasoning such as; the bible is the word of god. We know this because god told us. We know god told us because it is in the bible, and the bible is the word of god. If you would for my edification what is the skeptic's tautology?

  • No, I am speaking of the tautologies of atheists who start from the false premise of a closed, God-lacking universe. Much like my former closed mind when I was an atheist.

q.u.i.n.t.e.s.s.e.n.t.i.a.l. = "questioning universe indeed needing theistic epistemology shows skepticism's selective, eventually never targetting its anti-God logic"

(Skeptics never use skepticism for their own philisophical materialism. And yet they claim to be rational in a universe that they deem "irrational"!)

  • But if skeptics are by-products of random/stochastic/nonguided processess, how could they stand outside these processes and claim to be the universe's sole rational exception! In other words, the claim to see and think better than the "Blind Watchmaker" that produced them! Skepticism is self-refuting to the core and cannot find a way out of the pits it digs for its exponents...

  • A.C.R.O.N.Y.M=another circularly reasoned opinion nauseates yearning minds.

Ok so your argument makes no sense but I will try to help before I run out of space. First, I know of no one that claims to; A) 'stand outside these processes' or B) be the 'universe's sole rational exception'. Also, the BW is not a being with intelligence it is the process of natural selection, so one can't really be anything but a part of it. It is the 'guide' in what you refer to as an unguided process.

  • A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.=After Conversion Rational Opinion Now Yesterdays Moderator.

That is not a tautology neither in the formal sense nor in the colloquial sense I described earlier. Also it is only a false premise once proven to be so. I am open to the argument for god, but it is up to the person making the claim to provide the evidence. Indeed a negative (there are no gods)cannot be proven. Argument for a claim (i.e. there is a god)can be disproven factually or logically

  • A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.= acronyms crumbling rationale offers nothing yet misleads

The most important thing here is that you making the claim (there is a god) bear the burden of evidence. You have not done so nor have you even tried because you have nothing. If I am wrong offer it or keep your thoughts to yourself. Especially about things you clearly do not understand.

  • Skepticism is not a philosophy it is a method of active cognition. It uses science and logic to inform conclusions. This humanist arrived at my conclusions by using these things on my own beliefs and I engage in this kind of debate as a means of testing what I believe. I was raised in the church and am very familiar with the bible. I listen to an read apologists like Stroeble and Koukle. Your arguments suggest you don't know your own values let alone understand the dissenting opinion.

  • You are obviously not very bright. Atheists don't believe that at all. You should kill yourself

  • I guues, if I was bright as you. I be intelligence as a monkey! ha ha No, you not should think of your self as a monkey. Because you lower your self as a monkey and your Atheists buddies to. haha Truth hurts for all. Does it! lol

  • Stal- I would ignore ddnn2000, He must be 12. He is obvously illiterate and has proven his lack of education. An intellectual conversation will be more suited for someone that has a clue of what he speaks.

  • DrRandale & AncestorOfGod - I think you both need to read the Bible haha. Old Testament is the old coventant where committing a sin meant you had to suffer the wrath of God b/c God is just and punishes the wicked. The Old Testament prophets spoke of a new covenant. A covenant where in God would send his son Jesus into history to be our justifier by takin on all the sins of the world once and for all.

  • And while on that cross, he would take our place and satisfy the wrath of almighty God and be the savior of the world for those who believe. Jesus' death and resurrection marked the beginning of the new covenant in which the Lord will be merciful to our iniquities and remember our sins no more.

  • sin come from a hebrew word that mean to open your perspective ,to regard things with other perspective , reconsider somethings not cometing something bad like religions try to make you belive

  • Atheism is rational but that music sucks.

  • John 5:18, John 8:24

And if you think the bible is corrupted, stop showing the bible as evidence.

  • Gods name is YHWH or Jehovah. Not allah.

  • our new lord, father lord will always be...for below god's name is not jenovah

  • are all you monkeys willing

to give back all the things

    Einstein brought us? because

this is what he said about the

    thing you misunderstand:

    "Oddly enough, we must be

    satisfied to acknowledge the

    "miracle" without there being

    any legitimate way for us

    to approach it."

  • You people are weird but we love you anyway 'coz GOD is LOVE. REPENT,REPENT,REPENT! You don't know tomorrow is the end. JESUS IS LORD.

  • Science has demonstrated that there is definitely variation within a species. The theory of evolution, like many other theories, as well as belief systems, has a few fragments of truth. Variation within a species is a demonstrable fact. But adding to this the notion that this variation transforms one species -- such as primates -- into something radically different, i.e., humans, is where the lie comes in.

  • Free thought? That's just childish rhetoric. Thoughts have always been free, it's verbalizing those thoughts that is often restricted. Grow up if you want to be taken seriously.

  • I didnt understand this video...does this mean your an atheist or?

  • Atheism is the second coming of christ. Here to put the world right! Here to save the planet from non-thinkers...

Thanks for the links metaknight419. Cool music also!

  • aren't we talking about people who claim God has revealed Himself to them and they have never been happier as a result? what is the purpose of someone coming alone rejecting or objecting to what that person is doing?

  • here is the reason atheists are widely considered fools.. and it's not what they think.. some people claim they have seen UFOs- okay fine.. i have no reason to believe they exist- but who am i to DENY they exist? websters dictionary: atheist- one who denies the existence of God.. atheism = mental disorder..

  • "but who am i to DENY they exist?"

well, by that logic who are you to DENY santa exists, or that leprechauns don't exist? or that the tooth fairy doesn't exists? see the problem with such logic?

evidence is what gives authority for why and what we belive, not the inverse.

the same can be said of gods existance, for we lack in such absolute certainty in that dept too. thus why people are agnostic or atheists.

  • no problem with such logic to me.. if there is no solid evidence that nothing is responsible for the existence of everything- then guess what? i won't commit to that belief..

  • well, I wan't trying to be rude. but your premise that non-existant beings should by defacto be the end answer is abusrd as we could equally deduce that other non existant manifestations (santa and the like) are equally as likely.

without direct evidence we can't even infer and so any such pondering is hearsay founded on speculation.

  • of course you'll find that definition in webster's.....

  • "atheism = mental disorder"

Joining hands and talking to an invisible man that lives in the sky, who magically created everything and could not forgive you for being born with a faw ("sin") unless he got stapled to a stick = mental disorder

  • AncestorofGod, I LOVE your humour. It's right on the money as for truth, too. Keep up the good work.

  • Thank!

  • Yes, the truth is quite funny sometimes.

  • Also, if the old testament law says we should not have sexual relations with animals and relatives (Leviticus 18:6,23), but the new testament abolished the old testament law, why is it still wrong to have sexual relations with animals and relatives (I would never do such things)?

  • (at)AncestorOfGod

The new testament does not abolish the old testament!!! Matthew 5:17

Sorry. I think you should read the damn fucking thing, it's the best thing you could do to get rid of your belief.

  • "The new testament does not abolish the old testament!!!"

I know that. According to Deuteronomy 11:1 & Matthew 5:18-19 we are to keep the old testament law... "until heaven and earth disappear."

    I am not a Christian.

  • dude you twisted that scripture soo bad. I suggest we look at the text again...

Matt 5:18"For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished."

Ok, a little English lesson here. "until heaven and earth pass away" this is the period of time in which the second half of the passage is relevant.

So within this period, "until heaven and earth pass away", keep the law "UNTIL ALL IS ACCOMPLISHED." It doesnt

  • say "not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until heaven and earth pass away". It says, "UNTIL ALL IS ACCOMPLISHED"!!

He is talking about the new covenant being accomplished by his death. Luke 22:20 - "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood."

(Just before Jesus' death while on the cross) John 19:28 - "After this, Jesus, knowing that ALL THINGS HAD ALREADY BEEN ACCOMPLISHED, to fulfill the Scripture, said, 'I am thirsty.'"

  • Then in Romans 7:6 it says -"But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter."

Hmmm... Matt 5:18 - "...not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished." I think its pretty clear that all is accomplished and we have a new covenant.

  • When did heaven and earth pass? Deuteronomy 11:1 says that we must keep God's law, always.

"All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal." - Psalm 119:160

  • What are these songs titles?! They rock!!

By the way... there aren't such things as atheists. God doesn't exist. That's a fact. I don't wanna be labeled in anyway because I don't believe in something that doesn't exist.

For example, how do you call people who don't believe ins Santa Claus? Or in dragons? or unicorns?

  • CONT.

Get the point? For me, calling yourself an atheist means that you know there is a god but you choose not to believe in it.

The normal thing should be not to believe in god. Stop asking people why they don't believe in god and start asking yourself why DO YOU BELIEVE in him? The people who think are not the weird ones... the weird ones are the ones that take for granted what they have been taught and don't even bother about thinking... Think people! Think about everything you can!

  • What was the point in this video? You didn't even give a particular reason for why you're an atheist, just sited subjective, opinionated books.

  • It was an atheist link video, with extra garbage added to it, that was all. I may make a revision without the clutter someday. As to why I am an atheist, the indoctrination just didn't stick so well after I was in school with more faithless role models, as well as education on mythology and science. Take care.

  • I thought you had a ace taste in music till you showed us that mcr cd.

  • In America, as long as you hold an holy bible in your right hand and an holy bible in your other Right hand, you can hurt anyone you want. Just misquote some bible verses taken out of context, make up verses not found in the SCRIPTURE but made up in the version of the bible you hold. Just make up some gossiping, Jews kill babies in religious ritual, black rape white women, come on you did it, these are documented facts.

  • Thanks for posting this.. really good information :)

  • Our medical knowledge tells us pain is in the head caused by nerves ex... I thought our soul was away from the Materialistic. How can a sole have nerves and receptors and be supernatural. What about my brain. DO i grow mentally when Im done.

  • Unless he really IS that vain - "You did all these good things, led a good life, etc. - BUT you didn't believe in ME and worship ME so I will send you to eternal imprisonment where you shall suffer endlessly" And if god WOULD send me to hell after all, he sure isn't a guy I would want to praise in the first place.

  • I am an Atheist, and I plan to stay that way. However, should it turn out, in the end, that there is a "god", and if he is indeed compassionate and loving, he will see all of the good things I did for the world and look past the part about me being an Atheist.

  • Then you are not an athiest, you are agnostic.

  • atheist* sorry.

  • No, I am an Atheist. Believe me, I am quite an atheist. I'm just saying that if I am wrong somehow, I would hope he wouldnt be an asshole.

  • where did you get that shirt at

  • I found it at a Hot Topic a long time ago, but the internet could work as well.

  • the more science discovers about human life and the universe, the more complex and precisely designed we realize these to be. Rather than pointing away from God, evidence mounts further toward an intelligent source.

  • Although modern science is showing us that the universe is much for complicated than once thought. I do not think that any of that proves intelligent design. The universe is very chaotic and uncontrolbe

  • Don't you find it quite odd then, that, of the scientists who make these discoveries, only a VERY few believe in some kind of creator, but even then, not hardly one believes in the god of the bible. Just because some people believe there MAY have been a creator, they certainly don't buy into all the bullshit in the bible.

  • just prove it.

  • why would god punish us for thinking logical? So he punish me for not believing in fairy tales.. If there was a god he would not punish a human thinking free and logical

  • Is that music Dir en Grey? It sounds like them.

  • Indeed it is.

  • Sweet.

So few people listen to them. In Western countries anyway.

  • "cont."

Atheists base their morals on what is good for a society to thrive, we love life, as we don't have any evidence of such a thing as "life after death" so our moral in that retrospect is superior to yours, since you do look forward to death to be elsewhere, in your case it looks like hell! LOL..

  • Atheism is growing faster for each day, simple fact.

  • OK so if humans are of equal worth to chickens and pigs, why not use a lottery system to consume tender human youths?

  • I didn't say that humans, chickens and pigs are equally worth, did I? You just assume.

I will not agree or disagree with you.

  • I didn't say you did say it, but what do you think? This is one of the questions raised by atheist philosophy and is tied to other fundamental questions.

  • We already test on humans (people who sacrifice themselves for very little payment and insurance won't help you if it all goes wrong). But should we exlude animals from the early tests? No...

We're helping dogs, cats, horses, cows, bulls etc. the same way as we help ourselves when it comes to testing medicine. It's easier to test on mice and rats than on horses. It's cruel and sad... but what options do we have?

  • The question no atheist can answer: Since all animals g humans have equal worth, why not reduce population and solve world starvation by having a lottery to eat human flesh.

  • I just ansewered it, didn't I?

The theist solution is worse, saying that humans are superior based on something that's taken out of thin air.

  • don't bother.

  • See, I said no atheist can answer. Atheism has no answers for questions about human worth since it exists no more than god does. What implications!

  • Is a simple as" its wrong" then you would ask "why is it wrong?" Cause that would go against our nature. simple, nothing more, nothing less. We cant go against our own nature. it would lead ultimately to the end of the human species. I dont understand why you seek answers from atheist. A person who is an atheist isnt someone that claims to have all the answers. Just because someone is an atheist doesnt mean that they do.

  • OK we can't go against our "nature." That's a great relief! (I already knew atheists can't answer the most fundamental questions.)

  • fine, can you answer it?

  • Our nature includes free choice. A human's nature does not prevent eating humans for food, exterminating humans, or marrying a dog as a guy in India did yesterday.

  • I have the answer moron! The reason we don't eat human flesh, is cause we are civilized apparently more then some theistic moron such as yourself, humans do have self worth, and we do understand that, however you seem to be lacking in this department.

  • Maybe it's more "civilized" to address human overpopulation and starvation by lottery system for selecting inspected humans for food.

  • Thanks for the joke! But check again, this time stick head out of your ass so you can actually see the results! Atheism is a growing phenomenon around the world today, with Sweden leading the way with most atheists or non-religious. Also do check out Sweden's crime rate compared to the US mostly theistic brain drones. Thanks!

  • Swedish society, though secular, is based on centuries of christian socialization. Look at your history.

  • And much of Christian morality (or at least the morals that we cherry pick out of the bible, such as the golden rule) are derived from millions of years of evolution in social groups.

  • Were it not for the hundreds of detailed messianic prophecies, I would agree with you. But so far, I believe the golden rule was given to us by a transcendent source.

  • Many social species (not just us) follow the golden rule (we see similar behavior in chimps). Detailed prophecies? I don't know if I would call those detailed.

  • Chimps do not love their enemies. To review the detailed prophecies go to "360.yahoo" then ".com" then "/dankeeran" At the site click on the word "more" and I would be interested in any discussion.

  • Thanks for pointing that out, Nad, but rutileunderpressure answered right back at you.

We don't stone to death our wives any more for infidelity, nor do we put our children to death for not obeying us, haven't we determined these actions to be amoral? The bible tells us these as laws, that we should follow!

  • Christians follow the New Testament. Atheists do not usually understand the difference in the covenants as described in Hebrew 8.

  • Loving your enemies is not a prerequisite for a healthy society. It's one of those things that sound nice, but it doesn't work in practice. I don't love Nazis or Islamofascists, and there's nothing wrong with that.

  • I've read the "detailed" prophecies that you cited . . . they are either vague or self-fulfilling (i.e. someone who knew about them at the time could have changed his actions to fit them). (btw, I think it would help if you cited the whole quote in context so that any user could get an accurate view of what they mean.)

  • And what about those prophecies that didn't come true? (e.g. Ezekiel 29, 30 which says that the land of Egypt will be laid waste by Nebuchadnezzar and that all its rivers will be dried up and its people killed. This did not happen.)

  • I'm curious: how do you explain the failed prophecies in the bible about Jesus' second coming? (Mark 13:30; Luke 9:27, 21:32; 1 John 2:18; Matthew 16:28, 23:36, 24:34, etc....)?
