  • I used to play Paul when I was 13, had my boom box by my head... then used to go to Graceland... Until the alarm went off for School! ;)

  • still holding out for a paul simon, bob dylan, paul mccartney supergroup...

  • Anyone who knows anything about music has this album

  • Audio heaven.... For anybody with a slight sense of musical taste! Hell even Oprah bloody Winfry likes this song, though she sure don't influence my ipod!

  • Amazing Baseline.

  • LIKE SAINT GRAAL OF MUSIC!!!!

  • She comes back to tell me she's gone

As if I didn't know that

As if I didn't know my own bed

    As if I'd never noticed

The way she brushed her hair from her forehead

    And she said losing love

Is like a window in your heart

    Everybody sees you're blown apart

    Everybody sees the wind blow

  • suck it

  • What is it with Paul Simon and blissful basslines?

  • 25 people don´t understand the true meaning of Graceland.

  • Like if your watching this because ocho cinco posted it on facebook

  • Humanity, that's what this song has - right from the intro.

  • After at least 12 years, I've heard this song when I was sipping through my coffee at Starbucks yesterday. It reminded me of those days in my teenage years when I used to listen to this. Beautiful song, and it will always remain this beautiful to me.

  • I actually really love this song.

  • This song is so strange sounding. It sounds like a song from a surreal dream. That's not a criticsm.

  • @HTprods Know what you mean haha!

  • @HTprods The strange sound is what drew me to it initially when I was 7. I was assaulted by all this cheesy pop stuff being played in the 80s, and suddenly, my parents start playing this all summer. It was fantastic.

  • elvis is the best. even his house is famous.

  • I hate when videos don't offer statistics.

  • oooh

Love is like a window in your hearts, people!

  • On 1.46 does Paul Simon say "As if I'd never notice the way she brushed her hair and farted"? Great lyrics

  • @paucannell that's hilarious! it's actually 'from her forehead'... but something tells me you already knew that.

  • @paucannell It's "the way she brushed her hair from her forehead".

  • @Imrankabir00 - "the way she brushed her hair from her forehead" .... that's a Paul Simon lyric. That's for the 3 of you here who are over 20.

  • This song is awesome.Love it.

  • great song...

  • @2666ification Don't ever have children.

  • "The Mississippi Delta is shining like a national guitar." <-----best lyric ever.

  • .."she comes back to tell me she's gone.."

    well..shit.

  • I don't remember my parents ever playing Paul Simon when I was growing up, but for some reason I always feel nostalgic listening to his music.

  • May I recommend the book 'A Concise Guide To Eighties Music' by Karl Vorderman. The author is a big fan of this track.

  • Thumbs up if you're listening to this in 1986 because you found a way to travel back in time to when music was good.

  • chills.

  • she says loooooosing love is like a window in your heart

  • Wow I'm not the only one! My Dad just passed away too - and we both loved listening to this song :) Fantastic song!

  • One of my top 3 Paul Simon Songs along with Under African Skies and Duncan......Legend........enough said!

  • what beautiful music that reaches each of us in our own way, and in many ways the same

  • My Dad passed away earlier today and this song just remiends me of all our good times and laughs we had together!!

RIP Dad this ones for you mate xx

  • @sillyscaffs This song reminds me of the good times I shared with my dad too. He is still alive. The song is very nostalgic though.

  • @sillyscaffs sorry to hear about your Dad. I was driving while organising my Mum's funeral when this came on the radio. I was happy to hear it as it reminds me of her but I was a bit overwhelmed and ended up in floods of tears in the car.

  • just cause i drink mikes hard pink leomonade and listen to paul simon im not gay .I just apreciate some of the smoother things in life.

  • This mends the soul...

  • i love seeing online arguments. it amuses me to know people are so pathetic to do such a thing.

  • @SIMPLEman612 then you are even more pathetic for reading them..

are you going to online argue with me?:D

  • @SIMPLEman612 then you are even more pathetic for reading them..

are you going to online argue with me?:D

  • :)

  • @flipindepispot ok then.. sorry for stumbling across online arguments... i am such an idiot for NON INTENTIONALLY doing so.... god damn my ability to read what others have written....

  • @SIMPLEman612 Sounds like you argued with him. To not argue with him, you could of either not responded or agreed that you were pathetic. By disagreeing, saying you're not pathetic, you therefore put yourself into your own definition of being pathetic.

  • @Flairstar5 actually sir i apologised and then when on to say how much of an idiot i am. if anything the opposite of an argument. thus proving your involvement in the matter is not needed nor correct. good day to you.

  • Listen to Scottish singer-songwriter Nemo Shaw singing 'The Sound of Silence' - just out - 2 versions: MONO & STEREO MIX

  • Not only did Paul write and record one of the best songs EVER, he also got the Everly Brothers to sing backing vocals...talk about guilding the lillie...LOL

  • Never once has Paul Simon mentioned, not even in passing, anywhere in the song about Elvis!

  • A long time ago, I was completely lost in my own life. Really, I was another shit day away from checking out.

And then I got my walkman, this tape, and I started walking. I walked for hours and listened to this album over and over. I even stopped at a store and bought new batteries.

I don't know how, but somehow, this made it better. Cheesy, I know, but very true.

  • Thanks for sharing!!

  • RIP Fred Imus brother of Don Imus. His brought said this was his favorite song this morning.

  • What a beautiful, elegiac elegy to love and loss and heartache and of course, but of course, there's idiots having petty arguments underneath ...

  • m 2years old then this album.the time i hear this song (graceland) whn i was 2 years

  • @SaucyMcSaucer haha, I don't have a dog. retard

  • @psnapplebee i will buy you a dog so that i can rape it

  • @SaucyMcSaucer You are sick person. The ones I want to remove from the face of the earth. Better hope we never meet.

  • @ckdouglas9 learn to take a joke. And you better hope we don't meet, i wont do anything i said to the other guy, but I sure will kick your fucking ass.

  • @ckdouglas9 At least SaucyMcSaucer has a reason to say stuff like that, they were insulting someone who said "shit song".

  • @SaucyMcSaucer You don't exactly have to go that far as to insult the person who insulted this song :P I love this song, but everyone can have their own opinions.

  • @Maxdg1013 wasn't really insulting them. It was a bit of anti-humor. Som people have a hard time catching it. only an idiot would believe that.

  • @psnapplebee Idiot.

  • What an album, great.....MORE FANTASTIC ´80´s music at my channel!!!! Take a look....

  • what a song!!!!!!!

  • the cradle of the civil war

  • @MrRoel1993 great line!

  • One of the Greatest musical collaborations in the history of recorded music. They dont . . . . make em like this anymore.

  • I have a friend who may own a proper ghetto guitar one of the musicians used whilst makin this album. Paul Simon is the man. Music today is dead and as a 21 yr old I apologise for my generation on the most part for being tone deaf.

  • @Sp1derBen totally agree on that, this generation doesnt know what music is. Sadly, im part of it. But that will not withold me from teaching my kids the ways of good music.

  • This may well be the best album ever.

  • love this song paul simon a total god

  • 22 people are jealous that he went to graceland :)

  • This song...hell the whole album reminds me of family road trips with my father. He passed away almost 10 years ago...but whenever I hear this album it makes me smile and think of all the awesome times we had together!! RIP in Daddy...I love and miss you!!

  • @EmilyAnz My condolences for your loss Emily :( .... how insane is it that millions of people shared the same experiences. Family roadtrips. Graceland on the stereo. Trees everywhere. Unspoilt wilderness. Shivers. Memories live forever, even when we leave.

  • @EmilyAnz Love this song too -- reminds me of the trip I wish I would have taken with my son (before his mother coddled him off to Outback Australia 6 years ago :(

  • @EmilyAnz

Graceland is inarguably the best driving album ever. Ditto to memories of road trips.

  • @EmilyAnz same here with the family road trips :) And i'm all the way im South Africa. I'm 22 and loooove this album!

  • @EmilyAnz same here with the family road trips :) And i'm all the way in South Africa. I'm 22 and loooove this album!

  • @EmilyAnz So wierd that I have the same memories...I know every lyric from this album thanks to road trips with my Father. RIP to yours..

  • @EmilyAnz That's quite a coincidence. My father died 2 years ago, and we always listened to Paul Simon. I miss him more than anything else, and this album reminds me of the evenings when we used to make pizza and sing along to this songs. I used to dance around and give my dad a big hug. Oh, how I miss those times!

  • @DinaRiriAndJB It's not a coincidence. Your father has gone to Graceland. Perhaps your father and my husband will meet there, and host a BBQ. God Bless.

  • @EmilyAnz My ex girl friend's dad's favourite tune was this one. She would listen to this track in her car as we drove around. She would reminisce about her father who passed to this. She was a nice girlfriend, i sure miss her. R.I.P all daddy's who listened to Paul Simon and everyone else... I'm drunk ok ;) lol

  • @EmilyAnz Right with you on that one!!!

  • @EmilyAnz one of the best road trip albums of all time, reminds me of my pa too! peace :)

  • @EmilyAnz Thats so strange, the first comment I see and I feel exactly the same way. This is the music of my childhood, the trips in the car with my Dad and this album playing! :D!!

  • @o0TwItChY0o Im 19 and ever since i was old enough to understand what music was my dad had drummed Paul Simon into me

  • Fretless...

  • 22 dislikes... Wtf?

  • excellent track

  • This song is nice how the verses and chorus contrast each other. The chorus is funny and goofy sounding but the verses have a little sadness to them.

  • I love his way of singing.....it is so different and sweet, touching lovely and powerful as well. Much love for you and Happy bithday poul Simon.

  • how could 22 people dislike this tasty jam i used to listen to this shit on casette with my mom when i was a kid

  • Brb, off to Graceland.

  • @woodforafire not even close

  • @woodforafire not even close to paul simon but we all can't agree on the same things

  • @ripsubroc , Who do you think is singing here..??

  • my favorite album. I used to listen to this album in my mom's car when I was younger and always fell asleep because of how calming some songs were to me.

  • Hey look! There are 21 people NEVER to have children with!

  • Comment removed

  • @IGuessImLivingALie56 you replied to me GROW UP when I was complimenting you on loving older music. not hardly meant there is no lie in loving older music ( actual music ). HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND MY POST.

  • @hargisr111 ahh, misunderstanding, sorry

  • if you dont have this album then you dont have a complete collection, without a doubt one of the great albums of all time, just my opinion,i could be wrong

  • @paddw2 There is no such thing as a complete collection!!!!!!

  • MORE BETTER! VERSION!!! LISTEN!

  • my mum making scones in the kitchen im soo small i cant see the top of the table yett but im trying first yet vivid memories of thios song:)

  • @ohlner...your opinions are crap...Paul Simon has been around for more than 40 years...a real MAN of experience...not like you and your lanolin filled sock for comfort...Paul Simons!....HA!...Do you even know what is in Graceland? Why would Paul Simon sing about this? Hurts your your brain eh!?

  • The Tallest Man On Earth did a fantastic cover of this song. It's very different from the original, but I think that's what makes it so good. I seriously suggest listening to it.

  • @burnyourfriendsx

You know, I was curious because I've RARELY heard someone cover Paul Simon and liked it.. So I listened to it.. and didn't care for the voice. Thought it was over-powering. But something about it intrigued me, so I listened to some of his other stuff.. and there were a couple of songs that I thought were GENIUS.. and have been listening to them nonstop for the past couple of days.. and then I went back to his Graceland and suddenly understood and enjoyed the Hell out of it.

  • Why don't you guys just shut up and enjoy the music, you make yourself look like some ridiculous 12 year olds.

  • they call your mom the human trampoline.

  • the 20 dislikes must have been a mistake, this whole album if one of his best

  • thumbs up if you're human!

  • that voice got soul

  • a good place to be in time and space

  • @ohlner i am sorry but i disagree. his voice is crap compared to how calm paul simons is for how relaxing this song is

  • @bweis47 First of all moron his name is Simon -- no s! Second of of all he won album of the year for this album. You're an idiot who can't express herself with alcrity (look it up).

  • @MsRainy810 first of all moron, it would be himself*. second of all i was correct grammatically, i just didnt put the apostrophe in between the s (Simon's..happy now?) and i was backing up paul simon because i own/love this album? ignorant twat

  • @bweis47 How DARE you call me "twat?" How the hell am I supposed to know your sex from bweis47? What's that your misspelling of wise? Ignorant? I have an IQ of 146!! And yours? 82? I too OWN this album! What's up with the asterisk after "himself?" Anyone with half a brain knows that when you put in an asterisk (oh that's this little thing *) it GOES with something. "First of all moron" -- OMG you're SO original. Guess you didn't look up alacrity, as I spelled it incorrectly! Typo.

  • @bweis47 hi

  • very good lyric...god or inteligence creating. just wurst..

  • @tvpirate05 Me 2!!! LOL!!!!

  • @tvpirate05 Then you have a lot of catching up to do, mon ami.

  • thank you for posting this song... i was afraid i wouldnt be recieved.

  • I've reason to believe that even the 19 people who dislike this song will be received in Graceland

  • @nowhereman1940 Just checked with Elvis - he said 'no' :)

  • Paul Simon, the greatest performer of all time? Fuck yeah.

  • Usually listen to music when studying but I can't listen to Simon, or I'll end up getting sucked into the songs, drumming my pen on the table or rolling a joint.

  • @Gatorade237 I have the same problem--consequently, my Paul Simon album jackets always seem to have a little pot sticking to them.

  • @Gatorade237 hehe nice!

  • @Gatorade237

I'm so glad he still has the power to do that. I felt the same way when I was your age.

  • @Gatorade237 so your a drug addict!!!
