*sigh* I really do love Ian Somerhalder as Ian O'Shea but the chances of him actually getting a part in The Host is slim to none at best....I mean he's part of The Vampire Diaries...It would cause a cataclysmic catastrophe with the fans if he got the part since most (if not all) have a grudge against Stephenie and her Twilight Saga....lol

My Cast Line Up: Mel = Missy (agreed) Jared = Jensen (agreed) Jamie = Josh Hutcherson (Skandar would be 2nd choice though) Jeb = Sam Elliot (no changing this one, he's perfect IMO) Ian = Ian (absolutely agreed) Kyle = Undecided (Chace has been the best I've seen so far though I'm not sure he can pull off Kyle's rougher attitude-Chace just looks too soft for that) Doc = Paul Bettany (after witnessing his performance in A Knight's Tale there's no other choice XD) The Seeker = Helena Bonham Carer

It's hard to find a cast for Ian 'cause he's one of the characters thats been described very clearly. And i don't think Doc's role is chosen good enough. Plus the seeker's role isn't 'evil' or 'always complaining' enough

I don't agree with Lily, Wes and the seeker who are black in the book, Chace who seems a way younger than Ian Somerhalder (If he's Kyle, he has to be older), Candy and Trudy who are too young....

On the other hand, I didn't think about Missy Peregrym as Melanie, but it's a good idea.

I like most of your cast but I think personally that Kyle needs to look harsher, I picture Doc as blonde and young, Maggie as McGonnagal from Harry Potter, Jodi as a latina, alt as older and more delicate, Geoffrey as older and Burns as more rough and tumble. But thats just my opinion and I really like the rest of your choice of the cast.
