I think that you should take authority, shes your mare and you paid for her, if you don't want her to ride her, just say to her parents that you would rather ride her. I don't understand some people when they say just they can ride there horses, I mean if they in the future were unable to keep there horses, well who would buy them?

My old 11.2hh mountain moorland pony got a champion eventer off because she used the whip too much and he ran my friend heidi into a tree because she whipped him because he didnt want to gallop.
And i wont let anyone ( apart from my mum :) ) ride my 13hh gelding Bradzie because he is so good he jumps 4.6ft and i dont want anyone to hurt or scare him.
im lucky im 11 and own a 16hh thoroughbred gelding who 4 some reason doesnt let anybody else ride him except me
I found this out when me and my friend were riding on the trail and we decided to swap horses and we did and she got bucked off so she tried it again and he bucked her off again so i got back on and he was fine and it happened again in the arena the next day but he reared and she fell off and she is alot more exp then me and i got back on and he was fine
ROFL. I only let my best friend ride my horses partly because I know that if they muck up (which they have a tendacy of doing) she can handle it and partly because she's got her own horses and she'd never take over one of mine :P
I don't have a horse, but if I did, I would only give short pony rides. Nothing excessive, since I would hate to be stuck in this position. Good luck!
I agree with you. Don't lend your horse! If my friends ever asked to ride my horse I would say no because I'm not good with sharing my horse. She is mine and I'm the only one who rides her! I hope you have told Kiri no. After all that horse is yours and I would feel the same way if I where you if a friend or sister wouldn't get off my horse.

actually, half leasing is a great way to let a horseless little girl or boy to expierience the wonder of horses, but you still keep the horse on your property and can ride it whenever you feel like it.

@hunterjumper9799 Hi there, your mum wasn't probably brought up around horses, they are big animals and easy to be scared of, if something bad has happened. Kiri is now competing on Sonny and Oliver and well Jewel in this video was suppose to be for Kiri when she got big enough to compete her but unfortunately, she has a bit of arthritis in her front fetlock so she's just a paddock ornament.
@SonnyLees yeah my mom wanted nothing to do with horses but was forced when i was 7 and asked her about horseback riding. she said yeah and ever since then ive been into horses, riding, competing here and there, and have even expierenced some awesome stuff while not owning a horse. like foal birth, vet visits, training, and etc. my mom has come a looooong way though. she used to not want to be around a horse at all, but now pets them and touches their feet while learning about heat and sprains
@SonnyLees i used to do the same with my dads mare, now he is gone and i still has his 22 years old mare who is actually 1 year yunger than me lol... and i still pet, ride and love her. and everytime i take her to the woods i bet my dad is smiling in heaven as he sees his 2 beloved girls
@hunterjumper9799 If the person wanting to ride your is someone you trust and knows horses or knows your horse I see no problem. You do want to make sure that the person knows what your horse knows. I train professionally and there are 2 people I trust to ride my horse b/c I trained them the people that is. In closing it is your horse so you have every right to refuse someone access to your horse. Enjoy and be safe, not comfortable with the standing on your horse. Please be careful.
@hunterjumper9799 see this is where i disagree in a way, i reacently went horse shopping and saw a horse that had only been ridden by one person, and because of that she refused to even respond to me at all, instead she'd turn her head an try to bite me.. but thats ok, cuz i found Gem and i love hime to peices, im going to put him in the special needs program so other ppl can enoy him too
I totally understand! When my dad and I were looking for a cheaper place to put my horse I was afraid that if we put it in a pasture right next to somone's how and they would always visit the horse and then my horse and that person would have more of a bond than me and my horse!!!

Oh my gosh. Our horses are like twins! Same body type and color! Except mine has a snip on her nose along with the star on her forehead[: & mine is a paint even though she is solid black. She will have spotted babies[:.

My friend I think might have that issue, she has a horse called warrior and he's around pony height I am pretty sure and often used when people need a horse to practice on, cause I remmeber she said he's gentle. Though I don't know if it bothers her lol

I personally don't like others riding my horses, I feel you are always more sympathetic to your own horses than others might be. Trust me I have seen it. My horses are mostly rescues and don't need that. But I would feel flattered that someone loved my horses as much as I do, which by the looks of this video she sure does :)
You are SOOO Lucky to have a horse!!! I lease a horse and i think its very helpful for the owner to be able to have an extra helper taking care of there horse! but i do kno how you feel! I used to own a horse named Darlin and my Friend ALWAYS wanted to ride her because she was so amazing and LOVED to jump! your cousin probobly thinks that your horse is amazing too thats why she always wants to be with it, it is actually a complement!!!!

Oh my gosh. Our horses are like twins! Same body type and color! Except mine has a snip on her nose along with the star on her forehead[: & mine is a paint even though she is solid black. She will have spotted babies[:.

@Whyyhellokitty Awwh thank you for commenting on my video. Jewel has also a snip on her lip, I didn't put it on her registration papers, the snip came later which was weird. She's QH but I can get her registered Australian Stock Horse but I haven't bothered.

I got my first horse now, after 10 years of riding. I think also you have the right to tell her to get off. It's nice of you to share. :-) I would NEVER let anyone ride my horse. Only my trainer and some prof. friends. (sorry my bad english - i'm norwegian. And yes - i'm selfish)

My friend I think might have that issue, she has a horse called warrior and he's around pony height I am pretty sure and often used when people need a horse to practice on, cause I remmeber she said he's gentle. Though I don't know if it bothers her lol

I personally don't like others riding my horses, I feel you are always more sympathetic to your own horses than others might be. Trust me I have seen it. My horses are mostly rescues and don't need that. But I would feel flattered that someone loved my horses as much as I do, which by the looks of this video she sure does :)

You are SOOO Lucky to have a horse!!! I lease a horse and i think its very helpful for the owner to be able to have an extra helper taking care of there horse! but i do kno how you feel! I used to own a horse named Darlin and my Friend ALWAYS wanted to ride her because she was so amazing and LOVED to jump! your cousin probobly thinks that your horse is amazing too thats why she always wants to be with it, it is actually a complement!!!!

I never let anyone ride my horse either except for one person and one person only. but this is because she knows how to ride and wouldnt give up her horses for the world. but other than that no one. i dont want anyone messing up all the training and everything ive worked hard at doing

hey i no excatly how you feel i've got an amazing 12 yr old quarter horse mare soooo dosile when she's not doing work but all the kidz at pony club are like can i ride her and stuff . then a few weeks ago a mother came up to me and gave me an offer for her ..... (sigh*) i'll neva sell her she's like a sis to me she's part of the family

i am thinking of the other people because my mare is a one person horse last time some one tryed to get on her she flattend her ears, squeeled, the person ran out of the round pin and princess ran after them befor i told her to stop and she stoped looked at me and trotted to me so i am doing that for the oher persons safty

lol yeah , i have 2 little cousins and they are SOOOOOO annoyin my horse aerial assault doest like anyone but me and he HATES litte kids for some reason and poncho just doent like them period and now were moving the horses beside them, im tryng to scae them by telling him that they bte and kick and rear lol
