French Resistance in WWI and WWII are very different. In WWI the French army resisted, France wasn't occupied, 1,4 million of French soldiers died and France could have won without the USA ; in WWII the "French Resistance" is a guerilla in an occupied country, whose aims were both military, political and moral, very dependent on Allies'support, and was significant for example for D-Day, but even if Eisenhower said it did the job of 10 divisions, the USA could have won WWII without.

So the French resistance in WWII is not just a military thing, but the global action of some French who protected France 's independance and power - against everybody : nazis, communists, USA and UK. Without De Gaulle and (not so) many French (as Churchill and the Battle of England's pilots for UK) France wouldn't be today an important player, for example would not have a seat in the Security Council of the UNO. So the French resistance of WWI and WWII are very different.

USA expected 10,000 dead americans durimg Iraq war 1 but the ground forces came up against mostly badly trained forces the well trained forces got confused and sent to the wrong places due to the coalitions plan. Coalition forces went in on the ground and had some battles but most ground forces ran into surrendering forces.

The british landed in the northern US and canada. the spanish landed in southern and mid US and south america portugal in brazil.. the french in canada.. the english fought the french.. the english fought the spanish.. latin people are of spanish and portuguese descent and are only considered so if they live in the americas.. latino can include the black or very smaller native populations that have intertwined with the europeans over the 100s of years. aka cuba, puerto rico, mexico, brazil

@BaFUD what i am seeing is that Saudi Arabia had more troops in the Gulf war than both France and Britain. Seems like it is a major American lead conflict than it is a coalition attack. It seems that the F and B are only aiding the Americans advancements more than it did lead them.

The US went into the Gulf War to Take out Iraqi troops from Kuwait and Stop them from A potential invasion of Saudi Arabia. 2003 Invasion purpose was to Overthrow Saddams Bath party & Execute Saddam. Saddam violated human Rights. They Executed Saddam.

fighting canda sounds too expensive than fighting the technologically challenged iraqis. and you'd be taking out a strong ally leaving the military possibly weakened with a threat on the horizon. i doubt US would choose to fight canada just for the incentive of oil. also i believe the citizens would take this war more seriously as it's on their door step.
