dont let me down ... Such a beautiful song... Everytime I hear No doubt the earlier years I get very emotional... I love their music, and I really just believe this is the end of good music.
@XerxesOmicron Yes that would be her band as well. I'm not using "her" for her person. I am very much aware that they are a band. However, in most cases, people pay much more attention to the lead singer, thus, giving them the most attention. I know she did not form the band but she is the lead singer, so that somewhat makes it her band.
@mzismelol123 Gwen Stefani wrote a couple of songs for No Doubt, that's it. She had little to do with shaping the group's sound. It's not the Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band scenario you're trying to paint.
@HeadlessEye Yes but say a different lead singer had been chosen. Do you really think the band would've been the same? Or sounded the same? Her voice shapes their music immensely. Hate to break it to ya, but Gwen Stefani played a major role within the band.
kinda soundsl like that one song that goes "I get knocked down then I get up again." Not saying No Doubt copied them; pretty sure that song came out after this so it would be more like the other way around. and maybe i'm the only one who hears that...
back when my makeup routine consisted of glitter...lots of glitter and lip gloss I use to play this song all the time. Generally thinking of my crush. Good times.
@sacramentolove Yeah that's what I thought you meant but when I listened to the Beatles Don't Let Me down its got different lyrics. So I was wondering if it was something different so now I have to ask did the Beatles just write it and not preform it or did they sing it under a different title? Sorry I don't know much about any of the Beatles songs except from the albums "Revolver" and "Help!"
@2Juicy4Tuti Beatles wrote "Don't Let me Down" in 1969 as a single, and he performed it on the apple roof top in '69, London, January 30. What ever they wrote, they performed it, but I see the lyrics on this song are different, I thought they were the same. My apologies, I just hate it when today's artists cover classic songs, such as Beatles songs. "Hello Goodbye" was killed by Jonas Brothers, but that song had it coming. It was a great Beatles '67 classic, but Jonas ruined it... :(
@sacramentolove Okay yeah cause I looked up the "Don't Let Me Down" one that was on the roof top and I thought they might have preformed it this "Don't Let Me Down" under a different title or something lol but yeah I know what you mean about crap re makes thanks for clearing it up for me cause I was so confused haha
Just like what most people have been saying, I heard this on 8 simple rules as well. It's an amazing song and No Doubt rocks. I think I found another song by them that I love eheheh. I'm glad that Gwen has gotten back with No Doubt (So I've heard), I didn't really like her as a solo artist.
I wanna see them in Concert but I can't afford it. What's lame is The Sounds are one of my favorite bands so I don't get to see them or the sounds. I've already seen Paramore haha.
o yeah i love this song, but i'm more into the early, old school No Doubt... don't get me wrong, Rock Steady is an awesome record, but it's a little too pop-y you know what i mean?
you NDknowall with John Spence in ur nickname, now let me repeat what i said by asking you a question: which of the following did i say: the album has all these pop songs which totally negates te ND genres like ska and reggae, or did i say i thought it was a little too pop-y? pop music is short for popular music, which can be all the genres u listed there, i think they made it too much to he liking of the big audience, you know. not that pure than the rest they made, so pop music!
I understand what you're saying. But I think it was just that gwen was in a way better place and didnt have as much anger. This was around the time she got married and stuff. So i think the music just better reflects that, unlike their earlier stuff which is more angry. But I think its just as good.
yea i never thought of it that way, but indeed she hot engaged during rock steady while during return of saturn she was going trhough a harder time in her mind
It was so not techno, okay? It's Pop-rock. Techno is Pretty Rave girl by I am X-ray. So listen to that and decide if Rock Steady is still considered techno in your eyes.
@mzismelol123 But this was ROCK STEADY... it was however released not long after RETURN OF SATURN, which is actuallly my favorite album too. It was a 2000 classic.
this should have been released in the 1980s, it would have been so BIG !!!! gosh she is such a diverse artist, she even has a high-energy/Freestyle song, in ode to the latin freestyle era (lina santiago/Katrina) in her song "Crash" on love.angel.music.baby. she is awesome !!!!
Let's stop bitching and let's agree,this is such a good song!OK

@officereagle It might be the same chord progression. That's not copying. People use similar/the same chord progressions all the time.
