@walter316 educate? la cumbia es afro colombiana y costeña. he's not doing it to be mean. it's just that the original has been changed so much and colombians are tired of being told that mexicans saved cumbia.The thing is that colombians are very regionalist and when mexicans go to other parts of colombia (where there are no african descent people) and think that cumbia is dead because they listen to guasca music.go to barranquilla and palenque for real cumbia.

no he's mad because to us it seems like they are butchering our heritage. Heck even some black colombians cringe at how some other colombians have changed their culture.cumbia is aprt of our culture. Lot's of the old songs are based upon our legends and way of thingking. Mexican cumbia has a deep waltz like influence that conlficts with afro carribean rythm (in our opinion).Even worse americans are telling us colombians that cumbia is mexican.That is an insult to the slaves who developed it.

First of all this should be called MEXICAN Cumbia...cos this is not real cumbia its like they're dancing Caleño salsa style basic step in slow motion. At least they were in rhythm which is much more that can be said of many But definitely the best dancers of Latin American music are Dominican, Colombian, Cuban and Puerto Rican Although Argentines can dance their Tango and Brazilians their Samba
