this game is weird .for one thing, it makes u sea sick as u run around getting wolloped . combat is garbage . it seems really unfinished . when i was stuck in the monastry i was rather bored. i was told that if i wanted to get out i had to talk to some head guru guy but the game wouldlt let me. so i couldnt get out of the blasted monastry. but i figured that if i snuck past a guard i could get out , but only after he killed me and i swept some random dust piles, and part with ten apples.
Is this is worth getting on my Xbox 360? I played the demo on PC but it could barely run it on low, i still had fun with it though. So is it worth getting on 360 if i enjoyed the demo on PC?
@TheMetalpocalypse I got it a yaer ago on pc. Realy good game and I want it for xbox aswel. it's not the most free rpg like oblivion but it's good. you can choose Bandits,mages and inquisision(if you spell it like that) Bandit heavy weapons with shield and (x)bows Mages Magic with staff Inquisision staff. I played it with inquisicion its good but playing with shield is maybe better and safer The map is not huge but it's ok I say 8,5 out of 10

@Arkanii1 I haven't tried Risen yet, but I agree that Oblivion was a great game. The Knights Of The Nine was a great little side story and a great way to remind the player that the Ayleids were very much alive and well. Shivering Isles was was really decent too.
The Xbox 360 version is very good ... The control its awesome ,at the graphic section there is a difference between the PC and the XBOX360 but only if u have a good PC :D anyway they are 2 different Systems i like the consoles for games more ..

Question, how the hell do I complete the sorcerer's part of the quests in the upper keep at volcano keep? I cant seem to find any NPCs that will further along my quest. I found one NPC that said there is a secret passage in the Library that leads to an alchemist but I can't find the passage. No one else will say anything different to me at this point.
@Rushthatspeaks in the library(the one where there is a guy who teaches u crossbow skills) at one end u will find two rings, pull them, remember the sign to interact with them doesnt appear. after that its pretty much exploration. to get to him u need to levitate over to the other side and then use the nautilus orb. or u can just go to the small storeroom and use the nautilus scroll to slip through the small crack, by the way all these are in the library (the underground one secret one)
risen was released last october in europe but the american release was pushed back because the game wasn't fully finished and needed polishing. hence the reason the poster of this video says the pc version is smoother. if you have a modded pal version xbox360 you can get the torrent and play the game

@killboydxbI traded in dragon age a few weeks ago after completing it, and i thought it was a very good game. Risen doesn't compare at all to Dragon age, Dragon age is much better on pc aswell, you get a reasonable amount of gamerscore off it, and best of all you get to have sex with a witch :P

If you are looking for a great RPG get DRAGON AGE: ORIGIONS its an awesome RPG. Reminds me of the old days playing Baulder's Gate which Dragon Age is its successor (or however thats spelt.) but if you are gonna get it get it on the PC. there I said my two cents :P
nope. i finished it in less than a week and it didn't have "80 hours". i did all the sidequests, and explored every single corner of every single map.
I have it for my 360 and i gotta say.... Its good now and its goin to be a great game if the patch will release, with bettter textures and brigthening controls . Its a awesome game if you dont just care about graphics

anybody who played through the Gothic games, will appreciate the hardness and immersion the dev's give you. There are no other RPG's that create the difficulty and immersion that the Gothic games, now Risen, can give you. If you dont like them, then you didnt play them.
Based on what I can see here, I think that would be similar to comparing two worlds/gothic 3 with oblivion, in which oblivion would be much better in terms of immersion, storyline(I suppose) and probably combat. Especially on the xbox 360. For the computer though, that's more open to interpretation.

Whats wrong with that? Usually in TPP/FPP games u use RS to control camera. Ur probably computer player hwo isnt used to sticks. Mouse is way better to look around but u can get used to sticks and play as if it doesnt make a difference.
Btw. graphics dont mean too much for me Im only hoping for a good gamplay and massive things to do like in Gothic eg. take a job, go to public house etc.

Fable is a dumbed down little kids game designed for 6 year olds or very casual gamers. It's so shallow and simplistic it practically plays itself. Risen is a deep hardcore PC RPG and not intended for your typical casual gamer that actually requires some thought, skill, and strategy. It's not perfect, but it blows Fable out of the water unless you prefer very simple games with no depth that can be mastered in about 30 minutes.
of course the graphics for xbox 360 are alright you just have to watch the new games graphics like Gears of wars 2 Batman Arkham Asylum,Forza Motorsport 3 and compare it with the graphics of risen and HEY they all cost the same yeahhhhh.....so the developers pooed in the risen for xbox but instead of being ashamed of what they did and make a price for the game of 20 euros NOOO they went and make it almost 60 they sure are not stupid.....
This is really what they call a port, this term is often abused but in Risens case it is just that.They took Risen for PC and decreased the graphics until it was playable on the 360's specs. Console specs aren't good vs a modern PC but they produce great games because these games get optimized for those specs which(every now and then) even produces a game that is better on consoles then on PC.Risen doesn't use this at all, still there is something charming about this game,ill wait for price drop

anybody who played through the Gothic games, will appreciate the hardness and immersion the dev's give you. There are no other RPG's that create the difficulty and immersion that the Gothic games, now Risen, can give you. If you dont like them, then you didnt play them.

Based on what I can see here, I think that would be similar to comparing two worlds/gothic 3 with oblivion, in which oblivion would be much better in terms of immersion, storyline(I suppose) and probably combat. Especially on the xbox 360. For the computer though, that's more open to interpretation.

How is This game Dreadful? I have borerlands and after all the whole co-op jazz that piece of shit is dreadful. But to the point, is the combat on 360 even slightly ok? I could care less about the graphics. I love gothic so i wanna play this anyways.

-Bad graphics
-Too dark (Can't see anything at all, have brightness up to the max on TV there is no brightness option in the game)
-Combat is just dreadful
-Voice acting is hilariously bad (I was bored during conversations)
-Extremely glitchy (Had to reload twice due to getting stuck)
-Unpolished
And Borderlands is an amazing game, I have yet to play coop and I'm loving on my own.

I Could see all your points besides the Voice acting....this isn't two worlds, and Gothic had baller voices. Its obviously a very bad port, but its like 39 dollars on play asia. maybe ill just wait till it comes out to us. Borderlands is not diablo with guns like gearbox said and most of the cool shit is gone. its ok but prob trading it in for 40% to dragon age.

in comparison to fable and the like i give this one as victor. this one has loads of features, and at first it looks like its generic but give it time and its very addictive.
looks like shite but its soooo much fun.
fable was way too short but it had its moments.
but alot of them were upsetting

right stick to get the camera at the correct angle to deflect blows, which isn't good unless you have 3 hands.
Whats wrong with that? Usually in TPP/FPP games u use RS to control camera. Ur probably computer player hwo isnt used to sticks. Mouse is way better to look around but u can get used to sticks and play as if it doesnt make a difference.

nah, what hes saying is that you can't use RS AND press B button at the same time. its why people switch to Bumper Jumper in Halo as well.

Fable is a dumbed down little kids game designed for 6 year olds or very casual gamers. It's so shallow and simplistic it practically plays itself. Risen is a deep hardcore PC RPG and not intended for your typical casual gamer that actually requires some thought, skill, and strategy. It's not perfect, but it blows Fable out of the water unless you prefer very simple games with no depth that can be mastered in about 30 minutes.

of course the graphics for xbox 360 are alright you just have to watch the new games graphics like Gears of wars 2 Batman Arkham Asylum,Forza Motorsport 3 and compare it with the graphics of risen and HEY they all cost the same yeahhhhh.....so the developers pooed in the risen for xbox but instead of being ashamed of what they did and make a price for the game of 20 euros NOOO they went and make it almost 60 they sure are not stupid.....

This is really what they call a port, this term is often abused but in Risens case it is just that.They took Risen for PC and decreased the graphics until it was playable on the 360's specs. Console specs aren't good vs a modern PC but they produce great games because these games get optimized for those specs which(every now and then) even produces a game that is better on consoles then on PC.Risen doesn't use this at all, still there is something charming about this game,ill wait for price drop

Really good game from creators of Gothic series.Worth to play,dunno about the Xbox one,looks too dark,the PC version has the brightness option BTW so if you have a good PC you should get it :)

This looks just like Gothic 3.. hope its different because Gothic 3 is close to the most bugged piece of shit ever and u keep getting memory corruption when trying to save...
made by the same ppl so the combat system hasnt change which sucks... they should just have robbed oblivions combat system...
