So few Zelda "remixes" actually WORK with, and COMPLIMENT the original. They are more of a "Hey! Listen!" (I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF) assault.. Throwing the theme in the listeners' face. Basically, add new effects to it -boom!- you got a remix. True music doesn't work like that. So good to see some people still adhere to this basic rule.
I hate the term IDM (although I admit to having used it when I was younger) it's so pretentious, no? It refers to dance that is "intelligent" but techno, electro, dubstep, psy trance, instrumental hip hop etc can be just as complex and made on a computer thus "intelligent dance music". I would label this 'electronica'
This is, like, ambient trip-hop or break-beat. This is what Aphex Twin was doing twenty years ago and now others are doing the same - heaps of others.
And yeah, IDM is definitely not what this is. IDM is 'In Flagranti' and other stuff like that. You have no idea about music if you think THIS is IDM...

All the artists you mentioned there are way closer to breakbeat or techno, and I said In Flagranti because it is the closest thing to what one would call, "Intelligent Dance Music". It isn't even a gaddam real genre anyway. Stop whinning and listen to the song...
I bet Ochre would appreciate if you'd link to where these remixes are available.
btw, I can barely hear anything without turning the volume way up, you might want to check that the music is loud enough before posting. It's a cool remix, lots of source songs arranged together, cool soft electronic sound.. but so dang quiet. :P
