i fixed it another way if i had a cored to upload videos i would show u when it loads the screen click the button to open start on the keyboar click log of and then cancel it and u see the desktop open the cod waw tab at the bottom and when it fullscreen it agine youll be able to play no shit try it

people! to solve this problem you need to go to disc where u installed it /main/video and delete treyarch.bik it should fix the blackscreen, but the lag will still be on, because i didnt solve lagging yet.

@boltboy101 i have the same problem. when i start the game screen goes black. if i press the windows button (hope you know what button that is), it will show my desktop in few minutes. pressing alt+control+delete will fast it up. then when computer shows the desktop,press the codwaw thingy. same works with mission loadup.hope not too long.

I had a problem with black screen but I could hear the sounds. Especially the cinematics (I could watch always 1st but not the following ones) and also the screen turned black after loadings/save-quits to main menu. This can be solved with alt+tabing to desktop and back to game. This works for me perfectly. Other cases including black screen after start up + gamefreeze seems to be problem with drivers updates or old graphic card.

The game goes to a black screen during the video before the second mission. I may try renaming the video folder and going to a lower desktop resolution, but this game has seriously crashed my computer several times to the point I'm afraid it will cause real damage. (COD4 works fine.)
