In terms of comedy, Bruce Almighty was funnier. But in therms to uniqueness, drama, story and character development Evan Almighty rules. In Bruce, he gave a man his powers to use like a child would and he didn't really feel like something God would do, or a man would do. God tested his spirit and saved him(Bruce) In Evan, God is a lot more meaningful, more true.
The men chosen by God have to make sacrifices, endure pain and humiliation, and that's what Evan did in this movie.
evan baxter was in bruce almighty. he's the contradicting character of jim carrey... the god was the same. evan's name was the same. but bruce almighy was years ago. and jim carrey was not cast in evan almighty. :D
This film is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!! I didn't see it in the ciname because I thought it'd be stupid and cheesy comedy, but I saw the entire thing on TV and it was so gripping and I was never bored, it never dragged, the script is fantastic, Loved it. And the flood at the end was EPIC!
