And I was thinking I was a lazy ass because I did do whole sheets instead of little pieces on my door panels.

After it hardened it looked pretty much like your good pieces. Then we laid another coat of resin, not to strenghten it but to make it smooth and to have a layer to sand flat instead of sanding in the fiberglass layers. That doesn't hurt right?

@ixyzyxi ....Whelp....the smooth side should have already been smooth????....... Adding resin makes the fiberglass weak...Resin Rich parts are not strong and tend to break....a door panel should be okay though.

@GasserGlass How does the resin make the fiberglass weaker? I've built many boats and do what ixyzyxi, does. Add a layer of resin to not sand the actual mat or cloth. I do everything else the same as you. I was expecting to get whore'd watching your videos.

@Fiberglasser03 ...... First..RESIN RICH makes fiberglass parts weaker as it makes it brittle....Two... Cheap resin will puddle making it resin rich in areas (the cheap shit does that).....The cheap shit has little to no binders in the resin or have dissipated over time (sitting on a shelf for long time).... Cheap resin have little styrene in them or to much also making for brittle resin....brittle resin mean brittle fiberglass...... I will show a video demonstrating this soon

I have limited experience, but hope to do a couple projects next summer. I am soooo glad I was sent to your site by wildeyednorthernboy, Thomy Shue. Just finished watchingall your videos, and learned most of the parts I've ever had were crap or so-so.

When I get better I want to do my whole car, since there is no replacement body panels and let's be honest, nothing beats a tube spaceframe with fiberglass body atop.

Oh man I get chills when I see people using that 'bondo' brand crap.i used it before, about 7 years ago when I first attempted 'glassing. It seems like that snot is just WRONG in EVERY WAY POSSIBLE!! Now I get my resins from a local supplier. Same price as the crap snot, but 100x better in every way. You can tell the difference just in the viscosity when you are mixing in your mekp. The colors are better too,you can see what stage of catalization your resin is in by the color. Better smell too
