Hey man, I know of someone who has some form of contact with Eatman and Laird. You may be able to get dteilas from them and write to them about you wanting to do an interview with them. I'm serious, I would love for you get an interview with them!
the scene i really want to see is when shredder "fights" the guys who get caught mugging april. also, any scenes with april or any scenes with casey jones (sp?) would be welcomed. i'd have to read the novelization again to think of more scenes.
i must have a copy of this movie uncut, along with a crow city of angels uncut. i would fork money over to have them on blu ray.
Okay, so there's deleted scenes they don't even have.
All the extended or deleted scenes they have are in german... I hope they just release it in america SOON! After all it was made in AMERICA!!! WTF?! They need to find everything and just give us a special edition. Why didn't they do that for the 20th anniversary? It's just stupid. WHY ONLY GERMANY?!
i saw this at good old Hotz big cinema when it was released. Awesome. I even liked the one with Vanilia ice. I always though Raph sounded just like Mattew Perry
I can see some people would be mad that the US never gotten to see this...just imagine if they did this shit to the Rocky 3 ending like after the Rocky and Apollo trading punch to the face scene and extended it secretly and it got leaked after 25 years...I think the Rocky fans would of gotten pissed over it.
Thank you I long for years to see that deleted scene. I knew it was real after hearing claims that the footage exsists somewhere in this world. Thanks again, and I totally agree with you're opinion on how it would be great to hear about some things we don't know much about for the production of this movie. Such as interviews with the film's staff and actors you mentioned.
I remember reading the book for the movie right before the film came out and reading in the fight between Tatsu and Casey at the end that Tatsu is actually killed by casey when he gets hit with the golf club. And in the movie tatsu does just fall to the ground in a rather comical fashion, so if he was indeed supposed to die, the reality of death was lessened by the goofy scene of tatsu flying through the air. Perhaps it was left this way in case a sequel was made? who knows, but i would like to.
do you know how movie scrath on my tmnt i saw some of the sceens you are talking about i heard thoes sceen in enligh i thought maybe you would what to know that
This would have been such a crazy ending. It's a cool scene and I'm so thankful you uploaded it, but I think the ending they ultimately used was better.
Hey just wanted to say I'm so glad you made this video. This is most definitely among my favorite films of all time and I've always wondered why it's never gotten the love it so deserves. There has to be a way to get in contact with the people who made this film and interview them. Let's be honest none of them are Holllywood bigshots, I think if we pressured Viacom we could get them to do a 20 year special edition. This is still a surprisingly popular franchise, and would be profitable for them.
This scene seemed out of place. It just cuts from their rooftop victory to the next day in a very awkward way. I like the American version better, because it ends on a high note, they've beaten the Shreddar, there all reunited, Casey and April are together, and Partners N Kryme is playing. Basically the cake is iced, and then it goes to a kind of humorous ending that doesn't really add anything to the overall film. I think it would be better if it was added after the credits. Just as a final gag
Thanks for posting this! So, all the other deleted scenes are locked away right? And there is no way we can see them, since this and the extended fight scene in Aprils apartment were the only ones on the german DVD right?
Well, film does degrade a lot over time. Wizard of Oz and other films considered classics tend to be better preserved, and even then they still spend a lot of money restoring them for new masters and re-releases.
Hey dude, not sure if you are aware, but we have been in production on a TMNT wide phenomenon documentary for the past year and a half. Most if not all your questions and people who you want interviewed are answered in this documentary project. Along with tons of archive material, which I can't even talk about. Keep an eye out for this project in the next year or two, over 150 hours of history has already been collected for this film. This is what all Turtle fans have been waiting for!
it IS a definite shame that the first TMNT film hasn't had any sort of archival behind-the-scenes content released publicly. there's really no excuse.
The Problem is that the US and UK Distributor aren't interessted in the Bonus Material, when Winkler Film (the german Dustributor) got the License they asked if there are any Bonus Features. That's how they got the Deleted Scenes. They went to Steve Barron and asked him if he's interessted in doing an Audiocommentary on the Movie and he agreed.
The Companies seem to have no interest in Bonus Material because winklerfilm told me that the alternate Ending wasn't that hard to acquire.
Steve Barron has a rough cut copy of the film, with all the unseen footage, no music, and the voices of the actors in the suits. So in order to get those scenes for a dvd, they would have to talk to him. As for other special features, people talk about vintage behind the scenes footage/featurettes, even If stuff was filmed it might not be around anymore, stuff gets damaged or ruined. Oh and the scene with Michelangelo going crazy in the barn, it was filmed, some cuts of it appear in the movie.
I agree with everything you said here, and especially at the end how you mentioned Transformers '86 (which I own and love) and even Howard the friggin' duck got featurettes and multiple discs but not TMNT is beyond me. I think the dvd producers and New Line just see it as nothing really that special considering how goofy their TMNT sequels were. Ooze and TMNT 3 really trick ppl into thinking the whole series is mediocre entertainment so they overlook the first which was much better.
@phantassm Well it was finally nice to see it, considering the studios will do nothing with the characters. So they'd never release it here and it wasn't anywhere to be found on the internet. So yeah, it's nice to have.
awesome matt, thanks for posting. probably our luck, they will rerelease this special version of tmnt on blu ray in the us but not on dvd. I wouldn't be surprised. I have a blu ray player but their new dvds are waaay too expensive.
I have the same hopes and wishes that you do about this film Matt. Knowing Nickeldeon and how they do their own programs with dvd releases, we are SOL when it comes to this.

I'll never understand why the hell they only release overseas...it was made here! WE should have it first...
she didnt draw raph either...and they dont touch how raph gets the sai back.
all these things i totally agree with...
there was supposed to be a crush thing between raph & april, she wanted that and the reason she didnt do TMNT2 cos it "lost its heart" as she said.
even if those scenes had no sound, I'll watch em! rough cuts are fun!
lol Josh is on FB...
