  • Paul should have did this at the Concert For George!!

  • Comment removed

  • This song was 30 years ago no.20 in the world-year-end-charts #george #harrison

  • just amazing... wish i could find this in better quality

  • What a great solo, Eric. Well done

  • If you like John Lennon, then you may very well like KOZMIC DREAMERS whose artistic vision and expression, defines them as one of a kind. Buy one of the songs or poems on iTunes.

  • This was the first time I heard this song when Live in Japan came out as I had never gotten Somewhere in England. And then when Let it Roll came out I was shocked at the 'negative' version. This one was much nicer especially the line about saying a little prayer for John. (the other version of not saying a prayer was mean but then I guess they were fighting)

  • @kitty9tales the lyrics are the same in both versions!

  • This has to be the only video of George performing this song. He even didn't even lip-sync it for the promo video - that was entirely pics and video of John during the Beatle days. Oter than this tour, George rarely played live after John was killed. Mostly a few guest appearances, like the Prince's Trust or when the Beatles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

  • damn.... I get shivers down my spine just listening to these words.. not that the song's scarry... it's just that it gives a good feeling inside... how a good friendship could last even after death....

  • @tataraver602 True!

  • lo q daria por haber ido a ese recital. pero nunca hubiera podido, ya q naci en el 93 :S

  • Cool post. Nice to see George performing his hit in honor and tribute to his fallen comrade, Mr. John Lennon, M.B.E. Rest in peace, George and John. Rest in peace.

  • RIP George and John. 2 of the greatest musicians ever

  • I know that during this tour Dhani Harrison sometimes performed onstage. Does anybody know what songs or where i can find any videos of this?

  • Only in The Beatles this man could not have outstanded.

  • @Helmut83 he didn't outstanded beacuse he was so humble

  • @Berenueve You're absolutely right, he was the most gifted of the Beatles but also the most down to earth. Of the very limited amount of his material he did release on Beatles albums, every single one of his songs became major hits. Ask anyone to name 3 classic Beatles songs and chances are they'll mention a Harrison song.

  • @GermanOperaSinger I think Paul, John and George all were almost in the same level.

Its only the personals opinions what can make people say "that one was the best of them". Personally, I preffer Paul.

  • @Berenueve I can agree with that. George is my personal favorite, I've always had an ear for his music, from his early work with the Beatles all the way to 'Brainwashed'.

  • @Berenueve JOHN was the leader

  • only from john lennon, it´s so good song.

  • Thank you very much for posting this awesome footage. I had heard little bits here and there for many years of George playing this song. I mean, it was an indescribable sentiment that I felt on that Dec 8th, but for someone like his closest friends and relatives to have to bear that dastardly time, I just feel a lotta sympathy for them. The grief in the song and how to say goodbye ... very very tough for anyone to do... bless all relations who lost someone so suddenly who posted here.

  • Obrigado mil vezes, George. eh como um grande amigo da gente que se foi.

  • Magnificent song - but why are we watching this on wobbly handicam? Is there proper footage?

  • @frostclan71 no there is no proper footage- Warner Bros. did film it but never released it on DVD- only a cd soundtrack of the Japan tour exists plus bootlegs like this

  • Gorgeous George.

  • i wonder how they feel now when george and john are dead and they realize that those years are gone.

  • ez a zene istenem hihetetlenül jóóóóóóóóóóóó

  • queenswingswhatever, you are so wrong. yes, clapton played the solo on "while my gtr gently weeps" but he didn't play the solo on "here comes the sun", first of all, there is no solo on that song, but george played the solo for something live while the strings were being over dubbed.

  • For your dear brother and those sensitive souls...you are all deeply loved!

  • this song is about john

  • Beautiful song. a fitting tribute for 1 of hte greates men ever musically and morally- John Lennon was truly amazing it's sad nobody listened and now it's too late to change the many worldly mistakes. I somehow like this tribute better than Paul's tribute to John "Here today" it just adresses the issues and shows hte love more than Paul who kinda said he was like everyone else in that he didn't understand John's messages of peace--although all 3 Beatles did play on this song originally

  • Outstanding...thank you! Clapton's solo on this is just rediculous...

  • good song

  • i think that he wrote this for John...?

  • @crazy4paulmccartney yes. it was for John.

  • @jthornton17 i knew it!!! i just figured... thank you!!!

  • @crazy4paulmccartney yes- a tribute to John after he was killed- George wrote it and the original is played by all 3 remaining Beatles at the time

  • @crazy4paulmccartney yes- George wrote this for John after John was killed, and on the record/Cd Paul and RIngo played with George on this song- all 3 united to pay tribute to John and Paul did his own tribute to John called "Here Today" later after George died Ringo wrote a tribute for George called "Never Without You" (but not Paul), and both Paul and Ringo as well as other famous friends of George's played at the Concert for George in 2002- a memorial/tribute to George's whole career

  • thank you for filming this

  • It isn't about the video, man, it's about the message of the song

  • I'm glad that he played this song live. I wonder how well he would have done "When We Was Fab" live?

  • @FrightWolf...sorry this video isnt as amazing as the Academy Award films your spitting out every night. If you were as great as you thought you were you wouldnt be promoting your amateur vids on youtube. Have a nice day:)

  • @GiantsSB2010 Great video shot! Wish I could have taken it. I have a rare audio of Pauls first concert in the USA , Wings Over America, May 3 1976...

  • @GiantsSB2010 I enjoyed the video! Thanks for posting! A great song!

  • @GiantsSB2010 I enjoyed the video! Thanks for posting! A great song!

  • George give me life again thanks

  • the fantastic solo at the end is by eric clapton, there is a CD of the concert

  • @relp2000 what's the Cd called?

  • @QueenBeatlesWings "Somewhere In England"

  • QUE MARAVILLA. enorme George y cia.

    Bellos comentarios...

  • My brother just killed himself last month. He just couldn't deal with the world, he was so sensitive. But he always found solace in listening to the Beatles. I listen to this and i feel he is still around. Thank YOU! George, John, Paul, Ringo and of course LookingForMyLife for posting.

  • there is no death brother...this is a POS planet to learn our lessons. i do hope he went higher....hell with this place

  • @flukehead God bless you fluke...my prayers are with you...

  • The Beatles can make everyone feel good. Sorry about your brother.

  • @flukehead my brother did the same thing. hell eh.x

  • sorryt to hear tthat how old was he?

  • @flukehead Very sad to hear about your brother, as my sister met with the same fate. The Lord saved me several years ago or I would have succumbed to death as well. Hope all is well and God Bless,

  • soul of the beatles...George was great.Thanks.for the VD

  • es una verdadera lástima que no exista algún DVD de este maravilloso concierto, espero que algún día lo comercialicen.

George, dios te bendiga y que estes con John

  • Oh George...we really miss you...Rest in Peace

  • What a fantastic guitar solo at the end of the song. I can't understand why there isn't any kind of DVD version of this amazing concert. George was an absolutely genius. Rest In Peace

  • I really feel in the heaven, when i hear his voice,God bless him forever.

  • The BEST of the BEST,hari om George, your spirit live forever in our hearts, awesome.

  • Whenever an ex-Beatle performs, I wonder if they ever think about a time where when they announce their song, the fans would all scream. The crowd seems much calmer, I wonder if they notice. (:

  • Flamer:

Paul McCartney was interviewed by Johnny Carson. Carson asked if he missed the craziness. Paul answered that after all the time they had it, and couldn't appear anywhere in public, he didn't miss it. On top of that, he had children at that time. It was fun while it lasted, then they grew up and moved on.

  • the most beatful i ever heard!!!

i love the beatles and i miss john and george

  • Rip peace angels, John and George!

  • the phrase, "i always looked up to you" really makes me sad.........

  • yeah get a bit choked up with this song

  • why the hell wont they release the complete "live in japan" concert on dvd? all the george harrison fans want to see it,thank goodness for little gems like these, thanx for posting

  • @chancebf324 I know- every Paul concert has a DVD or bootlegand so do the Beatles- everyone ignores George and Ringo sadly even tributes which are important to people

  • Awesome!

  • superb, gem of a clip, thanks for posting.

  • Yeah you pointed the way to the truth when you said "All You Need Is Love" RIP John & George

  • You said it "rocksinger45"...RIP both of them, but, George was my favourite - very quiet & soulful, I'd say a 'lovely' person if I'd been old enough to meet him.

  • I understand how you feel, even though most of the time I am equal in my feeling for all of the Fab's... well maybe Ringo a little less ;-) Ha !!!!

Peace & Love to you my friend from down under.

  • i luv this song the guitar in it rocks!

  • @TubeTimeMovies the guitar solo is done by Eric Clapton- who also does guitar solos on Here comes the Sun, Something, and more Harrison solo years songs

  • @QueenBeatlesWings Eric Clapton didn't play on Abbey Road, which Something and Here Comes the Sun are on, at all. He only played on While My Guitar Gently Weeps on the White Album. Clapton did play lead on some of the live Harrison songs but George played a lot of solos on this tour as well in fact George plays the solo on Something live, the first one, with Eric playing the second solo that follows George's. Live While my Guitar Gently Weeps always featured both of them..

  • QUE ESTABA FILMANDO???? EL FOCO ????

  • What a great live performance. George was the man.

  • ahh I'm crying,so sad,

  • ALL THOSE BEERS AGO...

  • Haha xD

  • i love george

  • This is really sweet.

  • So is that George or Eric playing the bitchin' licks towards the end?

  • Eric. His awesome, hue? :)

  • ya, had to be...

  • great video. harrison may be dead but his music still lives on forever. i love this song and many others including my sweet lord and got my mind set on you. I hope they release a collection of all his greatest hits soon

  • Best Tribute ever, You can hear that he truely respected John

  • I miss you George, you are my Idol, great song, you are the man, if there is a heaven you have to be there if you are not there i don`t like to be there

  • Shouting all about love, while they treated you like a dog. Pretty much pinpoints the shameful reaction to Lennon's peace activism at the time. He was revolutionary. And well done George for such a lovely song. RIP John Lennon and George Harrison.
