the war on drugs is a joke a war we can never win and we just keep dumping money into it they say they dont want to legalize marijuana because most the people that smoke pot go to jail and commit crimes it's cuz it's illegal if you would legalize it you would see it's not the pot that makes you do crimes it this econemy it's living situation it's alot of things that can make people do crimes not pot
once everyone stops calling it weed, Marijuana, and actually calls it Sweet Calamus, there should be no issues, as for myself who does read Bible if it was so bad and drug then why did God tell Moses to take two hundred and fifty shekels of Sweet Calamus, i mean that should speak for itself, who is a man that he should say it is wrong when he did not create anything, who is a man to question God?
@stypostve I agree with everything you said excep the nomenclature. I prefer the word Hemp. It's what it was called when america treated it like it was supposed to be treated, completly free and open.
LEGALIZE MARIJUANA AND STOP PUNISHING INeSENT non-violent AMERICANS WHO USE AND GROW MARIJUANA!!!! IT IS TIME TO END THIS "WAR ON DRUGS" that HELPS NOBODY!!!!!!!!

60% of drug cartel $ comes from pot, legalize it, save our trees With hemp, boost the economy, help reduce the violence on our boarders, let us restore the freedoms that have been taken away.
Thats bullshit, no offense to the poster, but I am getting tired of this "please tax me" mentality.
Do we really need to beg the government to tax us as an appeasement in exchange for the end of a lifestyle crime they use to persecute otherwise law abiding citizens?
Hell no. We need to just quit being so nice about it. There are enough pot smokers that we could shut down DC with marches.. civil disobedience, insurrection...
or are potheads not the criminals they claim we are?
Tax marijuana and the price of weed eventually goes down, which would undercut the black market. You'd pay less for ganja at a store than on the street. Millions of new jobs would be created. State coffers will fill up. Everybody wins.
I see it quite differently. I see it as time for the government and corporates to pay a dear price for the persecution, exploitation, and degradation they inflicted on everyone who didnt live the way they were told to live. To hell with giving them yet more.
I fully understand the economics of repealing drug laws, but I dont understand rewarding them for ending the exploitation which they have been profiteering on for decades already.
I understand and agree with your sentiments. What I see is giving money back to the state that I live in, not the federal government. In a perfect world, marijuana would be free to grow anywhere and everywhere. BUT given how messed up our system is now, I'd at least like to see my state benefit from all this money. I want my state to thrive. Besides, look at it like this, once individual states rely on all that income, they'll never look back.
Fuck the feds. By the time it's legal in most states though, I honestly won't give a shit anymore, because legalization will be an idea that can no longer be stopped. It will be bigger than Congress and bigger than any of us. At least if the feds want a cut, they'll have to fight the states for it. The rest of us can kick back and enjoy some freedom. Besides, the California model for legalization is pretty sweet. You can grow your own!
(continued...)The idea of putting marijuana back on the black market will be something the states will fight AGAINST because they'll RELY on that extra money. They'll be on OUR side once and for all.
Here in Taiwan, the cops treat the average citizen with respect. The average cop in the states doesn't treat his fellowman with respect, and deserves none in return. Maybe these open minded cops are different, but my instinct says, don't trust anybody whose job is to deprive you of your constitutional rights, and enforce unreasonable laws, so that you have to pay, so they can get paid.
Well done excellent delivery. Legalize herb and keep the drug testing for persons that work in areas of safety train conductors, craine operators, bus drivers truck drivers. They can still mandate that those responsible for the nations safety remain free from herb. What is stupid is drugs are illegal and they still drug test truckers at every turn,
They don't know better than the drug users themselves, and we've been speaking for decades. But, we are second class citizens and all that, and don't have a right to be heard, much less an ounce of credibility, or even an IQ over 60 after all the brain damage that weed does.

Ah, yes I overlooked the word "state" in your post. But, youre all screaming at the fed to "tax and regulate".
You know where that will end up: the same place as everything else the states cant get much tax revenue from due to fed's heavy hand.
What will the states get? Scraps of kickbacks from the fed in exchange for complicity in unconstitutional laws... extortion.
