@harryrez Yes, I'm still driving the Century....it's been a very reliable car, but I am still looking for something "nicer." I've found a lot of "nicer" cars, but there's always an issue - either it's the wrong color (I don't want a black car, way too hot in the summer), or the mileage is too high, too much rust, price is too high, etc. Someday I'll get lucky!!!
I'm looking at one right now (In NE Ohio). There are two I am lkg at: a 1997 with 34K miles (yep -15 years old with 34K), and a 2001 Limited (leather) with 70K miles. Trading in a Lexus RX300 with 130K miles. Appears The Century's possible typical problems include - power window motors/regulators, Main engine gasket leak. Some have done trans R&R. What was the price they originally listed your for at the dealer with 40K miles?
@prayfortruejustice My Century just turned 49,000 miles when I bought it, the sticker was $7200!! I didn't pay that much, of course. I'm actually looking for something else, I miss leather seats and an outside temperature display. I didn't do enough research before I bought my Century; now I find that the Century LIMITED does have leather seats and an outdoor temp display, and so does the REgal, which is the same car, with the 3800 engine. So the search goes on!
@videoholic90sA I looked at the Limited today, it's the same as the Custom except for: 1) Leather 2) dual Climate Control, 3) OnStar - not available now (there is an ugly tape wrapped wire from the head liner to the main rear view mirror), 4)CD Player, 5)The Limited also has another feature I found bringing it to a garage for inspection: The infamous Engine Gasket Leak of the 3100. The dealer is offering 4K trade for my RX300 + $2K and a gasket fix for $250 (50% of 450). Thinking on it.
@prayfortruejustice Yes, the Limited has leather and climate control; the Custom does not. My 2001 Custom does have dual temp settings (but not climate control), and it actually does have OnStar too! Still looking to find something better, though; either a Limited, a Regal, a Park Avenue, or a LeSabre Limited.
are you still driving the Century? any luck finding anything else?

just curious why would you get this with 3.1 over a Bonneville, or another GM car with the 3800 ?,
that gets similar gas mileage yet more reliable and better equiped and probably faster...

@crammage I went for this car mainly because it had so few miles on it.

@videoholic90sA yeah but most cars like that have low miles but then again not that low!
