question about using freeze dried heads. my dad and i are just starting out as taxidermists, and we both got turkeys last spring that we want to practice mounting on. dad had heard about freeze dried heads being used, and that it would save us spending $40 on a fake head. so on my turkey, we cut the skin just above where the feathered neck meets the naked head, w/ neck meat attached and freeze dried the whole head. where do i go from here? did we screw up? do you need to use the original skull?

Thank you for showing me how. I always wanted to make a decoy for hunting. Now i can try to make one when I get a turkey.
