Fox - Yes, he is completely deaf. The device he was testing picks up sound and sends vibrations to sensors that he can feel. The vibrations are different for different types of sounds.

This video is great on so many levels. You have a deaf guy dancing and air drumming to Moby Dick and a cat that is terrified of and trying to hide from the sound. This goes to show that whether deaf, human, or not human; you're going to be effected by Bonham's drumming.
