I can do that with a blade shovel at an angle in deeper snow and get no missed snow or at least half of that left by the snow auger. and my shovel cost much less
who really gives a shit how much pollution a gas blower puts out way better then those little girl electric blowers. I would only use them if i had a condo and had only 3 feet of side walk to shovel and only then i would use a real shovel.
It's so funny how offended some people get when you promote something electrically powered over something gas powered. It's as if your taking their smelly loud gas engine away from them haha. The stuff they say in this video is true and don't try to convince yourself it isn't.
@Johnjayhawk83 People promoting "green" power are funny when that "green" electricity comes from burning coal. "Hey, look at me, I'm saving the planet with my coal-powered Prius."
If someone pushing for green energy has kids, you know they're full of crap about wanting to save the planet since a kid uses way more energy and creates more pollution than an SUV does. ...And then that kid grows up and drives a coal-powered Prius!
Ha ha ha ha with that amount of snow it would be just a quick to use a shovel. For real snow those things are useless, real men have snowblowers with spark plugs.....arh arh arh.
After watching this video, I scanned Craigslist and found a Toro 1800. I was able to make a great deal and brought it home.
When I got it home, I found it to be as great as depicted here. I had done my driveway earlier in the day, but we got about 7 - 8 more inches since I had done it. It did the driveway and I was able to do the sidewalks with ease. I have never been able to do all the sidewalks because my gas blower is too big.
I think it will be a great compliment to my GE Elec Trak.
the pooooooweeeer off the tooooooooorrrooo, overloaaaad 12 ineeeeeeches, this guy talks like an idiot. electric is for bitchs, 8ft from the path! better of using a shovell, doing much more work with this
@HxBusines here in sask, we get dumps of 16 inches or more. this toro is good for smalle stuff, but when it comes time to blow 2 feet of hard packed snow from graders, etc, my 24" craftsman with a 13 horse chinese motor swapped on easily walks through it.
The electric snow blowers use a plastic blade which in cold weather is fragile I have a 5 hp snow blower with a metal blade and it can handle thick heavy snow I also have a electric one I was given for free it's a toro and it can't handle wet snow or packed snow or hard crunchy snow and if electric is so good why don't cities or comercial companies use electric blowers on their loaders or tractors?
The electric snow blowers use a plastic blade which in cold weather is fragile I have a 5 hp snow blower with a metal blade and it can handle thick heavy snow I also have a electric one I was given for free it's a toro and it can't handle wet snow or packed snow or hard crunchy snow
BTW your a fuck retard to. Who the fuck wants to be out there all day using those pieces of shit instead of being in the warm house. Choke on a dick and drink some gas.
I agree with ahlizare....Your still polluting because the power to run the snowblower is generated using fossil fuels, and those big plants put out WAY more pollutants than a PROPERLY running snowblower. idk what you did with that snowblower in your movie, but i've never had one run that bad. And what happens when you have a power outage during a snow storm? BYE BYE ELECTRIC. And a properly running/maintained gas snowblower is perfect. Stop bullshitting about that electric crap.
Well, what can i say. Even though i like the big gas behemoths a lot, that is a great alternative to gas powered snowblowers. Toro makes some really nice snowblowers too! I'm glad to see your electric blower is working great. But i still enjoy using my 1973 Ariens 1424 with a Tecumseh 14 HP OHV gas engine. I would like to discuss snowblowers with you if you want to send me a message, i live in wisconsin too!
I'm a 48 yo lady. Put my Toro 1800 together last night in 15 minutes. Went out this morning abnd got rid of 6 inches of snow in about 15 minutes. This machine is fabulous. OMG. Why didn't I buy this 10 years ago? LOL NO MORE SHOVELING! No mixing oil and gas. Now to just get that snauger! I did not see it on your page, as described nor at HomeDepot. But this lil Toro rocks.
Ok... I am all about keeping my neighbors as friends. Bad blood with neighbors is a really bad thing. With that said... did you just blow all that snow into your neighbors driveway? LOL YOU DID! Shame on you. I am sure hopped over there after shooting this and took care of that right? Now, I need to get a SNAUGER. Love that invention.
48 year old lady here. Tired of shoveling. Bought my Toro Power Curve. Trying it out tomorrow as it is snowing tonight. I want to keep this in a room with my water heater so I didn't want to have to worry about the pilot igniting any gas fumes. Bad thing. I think this unit will be just what I need. Will come back and comment on my experience. I just put the thing together in about 15 minutes. Way cool.
Sorry to say but electrics are a waste of money, I bet they use more than two AMPS of power wracking up your hydro bill. I use a Toro CCR 3650 Two stroke 6.5 HP and it's never let me down, No matter how much snow there is.
Sorry but I think ill stick to my Gas snowblower. Love my 26" Craftsman... However, for those who say gas engines dont pollute that much I have news.... Because they use carbeurators, and do not have catalytic converters, small gas engiens put out roughly the same pollution in 1 hour as driving a 1992 Model year car for 600 miles. Besides, power plants are far more efficient than even the most efficient gasoline engine. Still, I prefer my less-hassle, cordless, gas powered 2 stage snoblower.
Long live the 2 cycle!! Down with the treehuggers!!! Do you know HOW MANY people restore and keep alive 2 cycle powered equipment?? A LOT OF THEM!! Enjoy the extension cords.
ooh, its always fun getting electrocuted, and having to lug around an extension cord when moving snow, when you have a well running gas powered one thats 10 times more powerful, and can handle 5 times that amount of snow in half the time
and at 2:36, only a moron would believe that thats how much pollution a well running engine puts out
that still doesn't replace gas blowers that thing isn't impressive at all besides you still use coal powerplants to make to power to that unit. And besides the total C02 emissions that are man made are less than 1% 1/20 the emissions = 1/20 the power that thing is maybe 2.5hp not alot at all
if you still are wondering the gas snowblower is alot better and I gaurentee you if you used that gas Toro you had against it that little electric would've been put to shame
@Isaiah402831 Until you go up against a snow blower powered by an AC INDUCTION motor, then your gas powered one will be begging for mercy. The one is this video uses a gay universal motor that are found in vacuum cleaners, blenders and corded power tools. AC induction motors are far more powerful and can produce torque figures about 2 to 3 times their full load torque. Something a gas engine cannot do..
o come on, I'd rather deal with the noise, and packed against the fence? Our 4.5 hp 2 stroke MTD would've had that snow OVER the fence. And you had that Toro on choke just to exaggerate the "emissions" from a traditional snowblower. I don't see why you would want one I mean a traditional snowblower would have very little affect on the environment, which it seems to me you are way too concerned about. I think what is practical not always "green"
you are way wrong Small engines have a 10x more polluting effect especially to you the user you're breathing unburned hydrocarbons ...way worse that that Jack Danials your hopped up on. This machine does the job ...nobody paid us to say this stuff its all true
first off I'm not even old enough to drink and I know gas engines are going to pollute duh it's burning fossil fuels. Nobody pays you to say it but you sell them on amazon so how is that any different
I like it, I wouldnt use it, but I like the idea. Up here in NH I just dont think it would cut it, and it seems like the width of the blower could really limit it in big storms. But oh well, has great benefits, no starting problems, just plug it in and your good to go. Great video and comparison. the snogger is quite an idea lol.
Nice no hassle,no fuss, no gas, no oil, no spark plugs. "Will it start or not"? What you get with gas powered snow thrower. It's also light weight and serves its purpose.
