After watching this video, I scanned Craigslist and found a Toro 1800. I was able to make a great deal and brought it home.

When I got it home, I found it to be as great as depicted here. I had done my driveway earlier in the day, but we got about 7 - 8 more inches since I had done it. It did the driveway and I was able to do the sidewalks with ease. I have never been able to do all the sidewalks because my gas blower is too big.

I think it will be a great compliment to my GE Elec Trak.

The electric snow blowers use a plastic blade which in cold weather is fragile I have a 5 hp snow blower with a metal blade and it can handle thick heavy snow I also have a electric one I was given for free it's a toro and it can't handle wet snow or packed snow or hard crunchy snow and if electric is so good why don't cities or comercial companies use electric blowers on their loaders or tractors?

I agree with ahlizare....Your still polluting because the power to run the snowblower is generated using fossil fuels, and those big plants put out WAY more pollutants than a PROPERLY running snowblower. idk what you did with that snowblower in your movie, but i've never had one run that bad. I'm glad to see your electric blower is working great. But i still enjoy using my 1973 Ariens 1424 with a Tecumseh 14 HP OHV gas engine. 48 year old lady here. Tired of shoveling. Bought my Toro Power Curve. Trying it out tomorrow as it is snowing tonight. I want to keep this in a room with my water heater so I didn't want to have to worry about the pilot igniting any gas fumes. Bad thing. I think this unit will be just what I need. Will come back and comment on my experience. I just put the thing together in about 15 minutes. Way cool.

Sorry but I think ill stick to my Gas snowblower. Love my 26" Craftsman... However, for those who say gas engines dont pollute that much I have news.... Because they use carbeurators, and do not have catalytic converters, small gas engiens put out roughly the same pollution in 1 hour as driving a 1992 Model year car for 600 miles. Besides, power plants are far more efficient than even the most efficient gasoline engine. Still, I prefer my less-hassle, cordless, gas powered 2 stage snoblower.

The one is this video uses a gay universal motor that are found in vacuum cleaners, blenders and corded power tools. AC induction motors are far more powerful and can produce torque figures about 2 to 3 times their full load torque. Something a gas engine cannot do..

I like it, I wouldnt use it, but I like the idea. Up here in NH I just dont think it would cut it, and it seems like the width of the blower could really limit it in big storms.
