  • @theyoungfucks ha! nice channel name theyoungFUCKs lol

  • Is it better than a DSTWO?

  • please help! i was putting a file onto my microds card and when i put it into the cyclo and into my ds, when its at the loading screen it stops exactly 3/4 of the way there! help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • can this run GBA games and any DS game?

  • -Get Pokemon Diamond & Pearl roms, for that thing, I have a Cyclo DS also;

    & did that,

    (platinum may not have cheats.)

You can activate cheats list right before you load Diamond & pearl roms,

& some other DS roms have cheat lists also.

Most of newest DS titles don't yet.

  • great video, but since it's from 3 years ago can someone tell me what's the best one i should buy?? I'm thinking of just getting the R4 coz it's more reliable as many said that mods like Cyclo are cheap and can break easily or something........i've never done any of this be4 as I've only just received my new DS a few days ago, but i've been in the hacking scene for PSP, XBOX360, PS3 etc so this should be fairly easy. Although I prefer to use custom firmwares though in order to save money....

  • @MrShadowz1337

I'd say get the R4 and put the WoodR4 firmware if you want a cheaper card. But if you want the newest, best one, I'd buy the Supercard DSTWO. You can buy those at lightake(dot)com. Hope this helps!

  • The DSTWO is alot better. It works on any DS lite, DSi / XL no matter if its the newest firmware. All games work on it. And it has a SNES / GBA emulater that work on an onboard CPU. we sell the DSTWO through our channel with free world wide shipping.

  • My AceKard 2i with AKAIO boots up faster then this CycloDS. I'm actually really impressed with the AceKard 2i as it seems to load the fastest out of the other karts I have tried (M3 Real and DSTWO).

  • NICE Review!

I was thinking about getting one but i have a dstt what do you think?

  • Toptoy, CycloDS or R4DS: which one's best?

  • which flash cart do you think is the best of all?

  • which flash cart do you think is the best of all?

  • fuck man do your really need to tell everyone how to

push a game in the ds and plus r4 is better

  • does it play GBA games

  • can it also play gba roms?

  • this is better than the r4?? what are the differences?

  • @trema12345 its not better its the same just a ripoff

of the r4 the r4 was the 1st and the best in my opinion of course

  • I'd like to clear up some things,

1st of all, these support Micro SD cards right?

And secondly, would you reccomend the CycloDs Evoloution for a DS Lite?

  • hello, wich is best this one or the M3, please i need to know and also wich one is the most compatible with pokemon heart gold, and where can i buy this in mexico thks a lot

  • What is the best flashcart for ds right now and fyi i have a ds lite

  • How do you get Real Time Save?

  • nope, unless the website specifically says so.

  • I might have missed it but when did you explain about Enhanced Mode?

Thank you for the review. It was very helpful for me.

  • ok before i buy this i am kinda stuck between this (CycloDs Evo.) or the DS-Xtreme 16gb, i was woundering if the DS-X runs emulators like sega and snes, and does the cyclods that nice that you would pay $60 over $25 for the DS-X. Thank you for your time

  • definitely do not buy the DS-X. I reviewed it, and its terrible. IT's wayyyy outdated.

In fact, even the cycloDS is getting outdated as of late. Acekard2i is doing the best.

if you really want a cyclo, realhotstuff(dot)com has it, but the acekard is much cheaper and in some ways better at simplymods(dot)com. it doesn't have RTS so keep that in mind. i reviewed them all :P

  • ok i ordered the Acekard2i and a original R4 (for the microsd reader) from simplymods thank you for your wisdom on the carts and i can't wait to get my acekard!

  • @iwakura

The AceKard2i is pretty cheap.I'll buy the 8Gb version.

  • Whats RTS?

  • CycloDS is still a good card to choose if you have a basic DS or a DS Lite....and there are still updates for it as far as I know, I got my new update today and now Pokemon Soul Silver works nicely....this new EVO update was released in the third day of March....this card still kicks alot of ass dude....and out of all the basic flash cards it still holds its title...nevertheless, you're right.....for anyone new to the flash DS world....I would suggest you buy Acekard 2i as your first step

  • @iwakura actually cyclo gets updates quite frequently

also much less glitchy than the acekard

  • @iwakura

hey, i have a regular ds lite and i dont know which card to buy: r4 sdhc or cyclods evolution?

what are the differences between these cards and which is better?

  • @iwakura

hey, i wanna buy a flashcart for my ds lite. i dont know which one: cyclods evo, acekard or r4. i want one that has a lot of memory and plays most games without problems even new ones. which one should i get??

  • hey bro!... do you know if this cart it's compatible with the dsi?

  • hey,

its not compatible with the dsi, but i'd heavily recommend the acekard2i at simplymods(dot)com

  • i bough the m3i zero from there a few weeks ago... they changed their skin... now the site looks more pro :D

  • @iwakura This acekard2i... is it compatible with the original DS and the DSlite?

  • @Thing07

it's ONLY compatible with the old and lite

  • @Kacusahuwa Oh, cause I assumed 2i was a play on words for DSi

    Alright thankyou

  • It's a great cart but I strongly disagree with their general price for it. $50 for a cart when I can get another one for $20 that does the exact same thing? Acekard2 is pretty much the same thing as CycloDS. Granted, you can't view text while you're playing or save/load instantly but still, those features are definitely not worth $30.

    I hope more people go for AK2 :p it's a great buy.

  • I agree, I personally recommend the AK2i over this because of the constant new loaders being released, compatibility with DSi if they ever want it, etc.

  • great video man, helped alot

  • what's the max size you can use for your microSD slot?

  • 32GB, I believe. Only used up to 16GB personally though.

  • does it have to use the CycloDS Evolution card reader or can i use any card reader to plug into my pc?

  • Um, can this play .avi files? And I was wondering what's up with playing GameBoy .roms, do you need something in the gameboy slot (slot 2, right?) So if, say, I downloaded a movie and it's in .avi format, do i need extra space for slot 2 or what? cause movies are pretty large

  • I don't think a single flash cart can play .avi at the moment. Flashcarts themselves dont play the videos, it's the shell applications like moonshell. Even then, I don't believe moonshell supports .avi at the moment.

  • great review. im thinking about buying a ds lite just for this, but first i wanna clear one thing up:

Can i download .roms, like from say "doperoms" or some website, and play them on the cyclods? does it just easily play .zip roms like an emulator does? or is it something different :/

    Thanks!

    carter

  • doperoms doesnt have .roms files, it has .nds files for DS games, but yes you can play .nds files

it cannot play .zip files, you'll have to unzip them yourselves

  • Would you recommend this over every other type of Flash Cards?

  • ok, thats what i meant.

so... i CAN download games from the internet and put them on the miniSD and be able to play them no problem?

  • @Schmootrocity

Technically, you could. But that would be illegal. And we wouldn't want that, would we?

  • @jackiehsu97 absolutely, of course, we wouldnt want that at all.

  • @Schmootrocity

    Yeah.....-wink--wink-

  • Hey how can I play gba roms on my Cyclods? It came with a micro SD. It says something about not finding slot-2 or something. =/ What can I do? I really wanna play gba games.

  • Hey does this also play roms, music, movies, and all that good stuff?

  • you bet.

  • can you put games on it the same as the r4

  • yep

  • I just purchased mine today and it's scheduled to come tomorrow!! So excited.

  • omg im so buying this and ezflash 3 in 1 2 play my gba games thanks so much 999/5

  • I just got a DS today. What is the price of that CycloDS? And where can I get it?

  • got a link to buying it in my video description ;)

  • Oh.Tnx.

  • Good review, cant wait for mine.

You sound like Shia LaBeef or w/e

  • are the controls better thats all and the settings? are all of the r4 like products the same when you have to download games into it

  • wow i cant even open a ds while holding a camera with 1 hand

  • hahaha thanks

and no, this has more features like the slow-motion and real-time save (which has been added long ago). also much more reliable to play the newest games

  • do you need to purchase a separate passme or passkey or whatever?

i read that it did not require it because it was included as a non passme.

  • nope. that was outdated years ago...

you'll just need the cycloDS and a microSD to get it running.

  • what do they have for dsi that is closest to this? are some better that others?

  • is there any chance of CycloDS deleting your saves?

  • Not unless you stand on the DS like with my ACWW game when it was saving -_-

But just in case, keep abckup files on your computer.

  • not alot because this as you can see is really goodly built unlike the r4.

  • Goodly? Sorry to be a grammar nazi, but I'm pretty sure it's well.

    ;)

  • OH, it's awesome and i was 100% sure goodly was a word?

  • 'Fraid not, mate.

  • one can learn something new everyday. Thanks!

  • does this work on dsi

  • unfortunately, nope

  • isnt there a book with cheats in there too?

  • with the cyclo ds, is there any way that you can store and play gb, gba games on the ds?

  • i think so. But I think you need a emulator and a slot 2 cart.

  • Can you play games online using the cycloDS evolution?

  • yes

  • Like the video, lots of help.

But, I was just wondering are you Shia LaBeouf?

  • nope, but you're the 3rd person to ask!

  • Is this card still the best one to go for if you plan to buy a flashcard for your DSlite? I just returned my below average R4i and consider buying a M3 or Acekard 2.1.

    Which one is the best?

  • It's still my personal favorite. The M3 DS Real or M3i Zero are also close runner-ups if you're interested.

  • Too bad its only sold online

  • Hey, um can u use it on the dsi cuz online it said u could (on their website) I'm just wondering

  • could you please tell me where it said that? As far as I know it does not work on the DSi.

  • which site did you buy it from?

  • sorry after reading more on it, I was wrong. My brother told me to get it and many people online say that they will be releasing it but I guess I was wrong

  • also I forgot to mention that there was a yt vid on it

  • Yes it works on dsi now, but make sure cause id hate to feel guilty for your wasyed 60 dollers

  • I just bought it and I was just wondering how to install it could you tell me or advise on a website, comments appreciated thank you.

  • can you use wi-fi on the roms downloaded to cyclo ds?

  • yep!

  • $45 is high *a lil bit* but its worth it i would say cyclods is the best but i rather buy an acecard :P

  • Hey... I noticed when you talked about the real time saving and loading...saying they might add it later... it comes with it... you have to hold select as you load the game to enable it. It's on a per-game basis and takes up 4.7 MB per game.. so thats why it's not enabled for each game by deafult :p

  • this review was made 2 years ago :)

they didnt have it at the time

  • Cyclops, from what I read has the best team regarding fighting the anti-piracy on new games, and often have a fix either the same day if the release, or within a few days.

I also read that Cyclops managed to get their cart to work with the DSi before the rest.

Also; it's not too expensive, and it's compatible with all three models of the DS.

The interface is extremely easy to navigate, as shown. It's worth the money, and is hands down the best one released.

  • first to get the cyclods to work on the dsi, but they never managed to fix all of the bugs on it. They ended up never releasing their firmware to make it run on the DSi, and its supposedlt a work-in-progress

  • The CycloDS sets MoonShell as the default media player right at the home screen.

What if I wanted to use a different homebrew program as my media player. That app would be placed in my "Games and Hombrew" section.

Can I remove the MoonShell app from the main menu?

  • i think there's a way to change the file that the cyclo opens when you click the middle button.

the middle button tells the cyclods to find the moonshell.nds file and run it. Technically you could name anything to moonshell.nds and it would be loaded when you press the center button.

  • nice. but what about the internet browser like the ds organize? will it run on this cyclo?

  • You can make it like the R4 by changing the setting of your DS to "Auto". :)

  • i rate it a 4/5, just not cutting it for me like the acekard2 does.

  • Can acekard do slowmo!? Can acecard use save states!? Does acekard have an impressive GUI!?

As far as which is better, the only reason why i'd buy acekard is becuz its compatible with DSI. Cyclo seems to be a lot better.

  • cyclo, just isnt for me man, sure its GUI is nice but i want something simple, not something soo whack, and slowmo is just for losers, games were made to play, not cheat, i use the flashcarts for roms and only rom playing. sure the acekard 2i is compatible with the dsi but who cares? i only use the lite anyway.

  • Yeah i guess so lol. Yeah Acekard seems cooler after i read reviews and stuff about it lol. im probably gonna get acekard since its cheaper and simple. The only real reason why cyclo ds would be better is because it has save states, which i wouldnt really need, but i wouldnt mind....yeah anyways cyclo ds cost a lot more compared to acekard. So i guess all in all ace kard is better.

  • haha cool, i have a acekard2, its the best :D.

  • They are working with the Dsi

  • exactly dude, they are "working" with DSi.

I dont fell like waiting and paying an extra 30$ besides, ive already ordered my AceKard. and I dont have a DSi, I use my lite, so the main reason why i dont want cyclo is because it costs a lot.

  • is acekard2i compatible with ds light?

    cause I have both handhelds

Also how much cheaper and user friendly is acekard?

last question I been hearing alot of

save states what the F is that?

  • It cost a lot because it is better =/

  • Has the realtime save feature been added yet? I am honestly totally confused which flash card to get, but I've narrowed it down to Acekard, EZ Flash, and CycloDS.

  • yep, real time save has been added. it's not 100% compatible and slightly buggy at times but its very convenient to have

  • hey dude...do you have an SDHC memory?....because I have my CycloDs Evolution, love it, it's black and must be a new model cause my SD card doesnt stick out at all, it's perfectly aligned and the finish on the card is very nice quality..anyway as I was saying do you have an SDHC memory?....because I have the basic 2 GB SD and I was wondering if the trans flash that comes with it works for the SDHC memories, mine says T - Flash and is transparent, do you have that 1? does that one work for SDHC?

  • SDHC should be fine in your microSD card reader. I dont have that exact one, but I have a similar packaged one that came with the cyclo.

  • you need to update your cyclods firmware it now has version 1.54

  • hey i have few questions regarding the micro sd card , how big can they come and how many games can they hold aproximatly and which kind should you use that you know is fine.thanks

  • a ds game is regularly like ... 50mb but there are games with 5-100mb so it varies with the game...I wish I helped =)

  • They go up to 16gb. You can fit about 320 ds games on a 16gb card.

  • Hey, do you know if they've changed the thing itself? You said it bulged, but this was a while back... I was thinking they might have changed the cartridge a bit. Anyways, question, how do you use the EZ Flash 3in1 with this? I have an R4, and it was simple, is this the same thing? Also sorry about the questions, but is it pretty easy to set up everything? Like, with the R4 you had to get the kernels and everything, which was simple. Thanks.

  • They've made the bump smaller, making it much flatter. It's only there if you look for it.

The original EzFlash 3in1 works perfectly with this, but the newer ezflash 3in1 Plus are reported to only have partial support.

Everything is very simple, even simpler than the R4! the cycloDS has tiny built-in memory that stores the firmware, so you dont even need to have the firmware on your microSD to run it (it'll move files onto your microSD for you).

  • Thanks dude. Oh, one last question, do you recommend using moonshell? Or does it even matter? thanks for all your help.

  • JUST GOT IT 20 mins ago

  • ty very much you saved my life =) because in 6 days I'm returning Spain LOL I'm very glad to see that there are good people like you in the world

OMG I orderet it like 3min ago and I saw a item called EZV 3 in 1 Expansion Pack is that necessary? sorry for my ignorance and bad English written.

  • Nope, it's not necessary. It will let you play GBA games and also works as a rumble pack, but it's not necessary at all.

and no problem :) Normally my orders arricve in 3 days, and I live in CA, if that helps

They ship it the day you buy it usually.

  • thanks =) I am now with my sister in MN i think it will arrive on Wednesday xD well... thanks for all you help here =)

  • Is it necessary if you want to play GBA games?

  • yes, a slot-2 with the necessary RAM expansion is needed. the ezlfash v 3in1 works nicely for this, but there are a few other cartridges that work.

  • Comment removed

  • ups sorry... another question =)

Does it works for the first gen. DS?

    thanks =)

  • yes it does, and yes, realhotstuff is 100% secure. the time it takes to get to you depends on where you live, but they ship pretty quickly. you should get it in 2-3 days

    (usually).

  • gratz good video :)

    I want to buy it

But I have one question... is realhotstuff 100% secure? answer me pls =) and... how much time it takes to deliver home?

    Thanks for the video

  • i have a cyclo as well and its awsome and i have good games in it...

  • Also you should do an updated review because there are alot of new features

  • Yeah...I want to sometime but I have to get another cycloDS evolution to review it...

  • Why what happened to that once? Its the best cart out there!

  • you can make the Cyclo load right away by changing the settings in the DS to boot right away instead of clicking on it

  • will this work with the Nintendo DSi?

  • nope, sorry. DSi has completely new security, rendering all previous flash carts useless.

  • Oh, I see. I have another question. What is EZV 3 in 1 Expansion Pack?

  • See R4 Review Continued

  • Which is much reliable and fast - Realhotstuff or Divineo? I live in the US - NY, I really want this; This will save me money from buying NDS games! Thanks!

  • realhotstuff would be better. buying from divineo helps support my website though, because a small portion of the sales i refer goes to me, to help buy new flash carts.

  • I suggest realhotstuff... it says its from new jersey and I live in california and the product came in 2 days (usually a week from NJ). Plus they have free shipping and a free NDS screen protector when you purchase during this month. Not to mention its like 10 bucks cheaper than Divineo.. and right now i've loaded so many games haha...

  • I just bought the sandisk 8gb mobile ultra microsdhc... (which states class 6) so I hope this will be good. The CycloDS supports high capacity format right?

  • much better choice. yes, the cyclods supports SDHC

  • Comment removed

  • I just ordered this.. thanks to you! Although not from divineo i got it from real hot stuff as it was cheaper and free shipping. I plan on getting an 8gb microsdhc card class 6. From what i read, you are saying sdhc cards will be slower than regular sd cards???

    thanks for your help!

  • class 6 cards should run just fine. make sure to get a good brand like sandisk or kingston, some other brands corrupt or work slow (even if they say class 6)

  • Thanks for a great video. Someone said this cart had problems with square enix games... did you encounter this?

    Thanks!

  • thanks :D

when square enix releases games, they usually also amp up their security. This *sometimes* prevents you from playing the game until there is a patch. However, I have rarely found reason to patch, and if a patch is necessary, they release quickly. Personally, I have had no problems playing any square enix games (final fantasy series, the world ends with you, etc)

  • is real hot stuff securd and fast deliver?

  • yes! they are absolutely wonderful. they deliver the day after you pay, and if you live near them (new jersey) you can get it THE NEXT DAY. and that is with normal shipping, not express or anything.

  • If it don't have a spring thing in the Sd slot, they have then more space for other important components. :D

  • spring is really, really tiny...

anyway, they've got tons in there already. No other cart has the firmware built into the cyclo itself.

  • were can you buy this!?!

  • see video description for links

  • m3ds real is way better with the sakura download loads of features =)

  • I bought an R4, but it was defective, so I just ordered a CycloDSevolution.

If this one doesn't work either, I'm done with DS storage carts.

  • Sorry but that's just not true. Any veteran of the DS flash cart community and/or anyone well versed with DS homebrew would tell you the same.

When the Sakura firmware for the M3DS Real first came out there was not a lot of compatibility with homebrew. It has since been much improved and does have a lot of features and compatibility but no more than CycloDS Evo has which has had it for much longer.

  • sorry psphacker210, but dipic is definitely right on this one. M3 is hugely lacking in features and has a rather grainy interface if you ask me. any of the m3's features that the cyclods doesnt have can be replaced with DSOrganize (which is far superior as well)

    sakura is just pretty xD

  • Cyclods website is down and I want to know more bout this mod and where to buy it and the memory for it. Can anybody point me to the right direction?

  • damn i wish i ahd bought this instead of r4. can this support 4-32gb micro sd cards

  • yer it can

  • i liked the one handed action :).

haha, anyways, thanks for the review, It definitely helps me pick out which storage device to buy

  • do these support gba games?

  • not on their own, but with a slot-2 adapter, yes. see my R4 review continued to see what i mean.

  • when i said does it support gba games i meant can u download gba roms and put it on micro sd card and will it work?

  • no, you need a slot-2 that has the correct ram to play gba games

  • why do you end every sentence like your asking a question how you seem to raise your voice? xD

    nevertheless - great video

  • camera shy? :D

I'll try not to do it in the future xD

  • I guess I'll have to do that, but just to pursue a possible dead end question, isn't the .sav on an eumlator, basically a perfect ds without the portability, the same as a reg ds lite .sav?

  • not sure, because the method and device the game saves to is different...but it might be interchangable. give it a shot! unfortunately i can't test it at the moment.

  • Hello! I bought an N5 because my cousin told me it was the best. After I read that the N5 burning the motherboard. It's true?

  • Yes...it's actually possible to destroy the entire DS when using the N5 because it is poorly built and can cause a short circuit in the DS.

  • Sup guy, one question. I just got my friends extra DS lite, and so far I've beaten or gotten pretty far in some games on No$Gba, so I was wondering with the CycloDS evo. if I could rip the .SAV files from No$Gba onto the actual game cartridges? Ya know, Metroid .sav onto the nintendo cartridge instead of just playing off the Cyclo.
