@necoamor I got a patch added to my jeans initially, and then I just spot reinforced it after that. It isn't anything fancy, just simple sewing machine work. If you want more info, let me know! If we live close-by, I can even show you how to do it.

@roooon Hey man, I had one of their earlier collabs with Blue in Green (a denim shop in NYC), but the Big John collabs are beautiful. My jeans have just started month 6 recently. I'll find a way of posting them up!

Hey pgkillua, I've never soaked my jeans, but from what I've gathered, you fill a tub with warm water (not too hot!) and put put your jeans in inside-out. Don't agitate too much unless you want a lot of indigo loss. If you add detergent, that's considered washing. Hope that helps!

Depends...

If you want your jeans to fit a bit more slimmer than it already is then do a hot soak for 30 mins.

If you like the fit just do a cold soak, tho it will bleed less.

@w8jij17 depends on time temp and the bacteria. cold temperatures can freeze inner bacterial plasma, bursting the cell wall, but some bacteria have antifreeze components in their genes that produce proteins that delay the plasma from freezing to help them withstand cold temps. there's a lot of variables to it and i am by far no specialist on this topic but yeah. :) plus, i guess this experiment was done on a whim. if he did do a real one, it would be done with correct and controlled procedure.

why?.. It is much faster, easier, healthier to just go in and purchase a pair you like off the bat. The experiment itself seems pointless if you are now going to start a whole new, year long trial with another pair to see which person has the better jeans in the end. Why wear them in, if you are not going to wash and wear them after the "experiment".. I would be more impressed with someone who smells clean, rather than someone with jeans worn in the right places..

@keetner The overall direction they are heading into. I feel like it is aimed more towards the general public, and not the interests of those who actually want their raw denim since pretty much 75% of their products are pre-washes.

People may disagree, but whatever. They still have their main core line-up of dry denim at least.

Ah, I see. Yeah, it's kind of ironic how they have so many prewashes, yet, majority of the current denim line = organics. But it's not the prewashes that bother me so much, but rather, how they keep ditching a lot of the "traditional" cuts (Straight Svens, Even Steven, Bootcut Ola, etc.) and coming up with these tighter/tapered fits. And...I don't know. It's just disappointing. Or if they bring in new fits, they're just "slightly" modified from an old cut  with a new name :/
